TD Cowen analyst Lance Vitanza’s Bitcoin outlook was reported as $132,750 by the end of 2027. That is an analyst projection, not a guarantee. The October 2026 interview coverage does not establish a new numeric price target for Strategy (MSTR): the often-cited $385 target is a separate, dated TD Cowen rating from April 20, 2026.
What is TD Cowen’s Bitcoin price target for 2027?
Benzinga reported on October 6, 2026, that Vitanza’s target was $132,750 by the end of 2027. The report said Bitcoin had moved above the $76,235 closing price assumed in the prior forecast and that TD Cowen might need to reassess longer-term targets. The figure is a reported analyst view, not a promised price or a formal company guarantee. Benzinga’s October 6 report

The accessible coverage also attributes to Vitanza a longer-range target of $275,000 by the end of 2029 and a long-run expectation of high-20% to roughly 30% annual appreciation. Those are reported projections and framing—not a return investors should expect each year. Yahoo Finance’s October 6 listing characterized the interview as not constituting a formal forecast change; that point is secondary corroboration, not a reviewed TD Cowen research note. Yahoo Finance

The interview coverage places institutional adoption and the capital markets used by Bitcoin treasury companies at the center of the discussion. Vitanza’s reported long-term framing is that Bitcoin could continue appreciating substantially over time. The reported targets are horizons in that outlook, not a year-by-year path: the coverage does not establish that Bitcoin will rise at a steady annual rate or reach either target on schedule.

Bitcoin Magazine published the interview page on October 5, 2026, describing Vitanza as a TD Cowen managing director and listing institutional adoption, treasury-company capital markets, and an end-2027 Bitcoin target among its topics. What is TD Cowen’s MSTR price target?
The October 2026 interview coverage does not establish a new numeric MSTR share-price target. Strategy’s official Q1 2026 financial-results presentation reproduces TD Cowen’s rating as $385 per share, Buy, as of April 20, 2026, alongside a $125,000 Bitcoin target. These are dated figures from the presentation, not the interview’s current MSTR or Bitcoin targets. Strategy notes that analyst views included in the presentation are third-party opinions, not endorsements by the company. Strategy Q1 2026 Financial Results presentation

Could Strategy stock outperform Bitcoin?
Vitanza’s reported argument is conditional: a Bitcoin treasury company could outperform Bitcoin if it grows the amount of Bitcoin attributable to each share on accretive terms and can keep executing through both rising and falling markets. Benzinga reported a scenario in which companies that succeed might outperform Bitcoin by around 50%. That is a conditional possibility described in the interview coverage, not a prediction for every company or a measured guarantee.
The mechanism matters. A company may use equity issued above net asset value or other financing to acquire Bitcoin and increase Bitcoin per share. But a higher total Bitcoin balance alone does not show that each share has gained exposure; equity issuance can dilute existing holders, while debt and preferred securities add payment obligations and claims that may rank ahead of common stock. If the share price no longer supports favorable fundraising, the strategy may become harder to sustain.

How do Bitcoin treasury stocks differ from holding BTC directly?
Owning Bitcoin directly gives exposure to Bitcoin’s price, subject to custody and access choices. A treasury-company share adds a corporate structure between the investor and that exposure. Its stock can be affected by financing terms, liquidity, operating results, share issuance, and the market premium or discount to the value of its Bitcoin holdings. Vitanza’s reported thesis also points to potential operating-business contributions: Strategy has a software business and Bitcoin analytics tools.
Strategy cautions that its Bitcoin-per-share (BPS) and BTC Yield measures are company KPIs, not forecasts of stock performance. Its Q1 2026 presentation states: “BTC Yield is not equivalent to ‘yield’ in the traditional financial context.” The company further explains that BPS and BTC Yield do not predict the trading price of its securities, and that liabilities and preferred-stock rights can rank ahead of common equity. What to compare across treasury companies
- Balance-sheet resilience: Can the company preserve liquidity if Bitcoin stalls or falls?
- Debt and financing commitments: What maturities, interest costs, or other obligations must be met?
- Bitcoin per share: Is the company increasing Bitcoin exposure per share on an accretive and sustainable basis, rather than merely adding Bitcoin in total?
- Valuation premium: Does the financing plan depend on shares trading above net asset value?
- Operating business: Does the company have cash-generating operations or strategic capabilities beyond holding Bitcoin?
- Shareholder outcomes: Do company metrics translate into value for common shareholders, given dilution and claims senior to common stock?
The companies named in Benzinga’s account of the interview include Strategy (MSTR), Strive (ASST), Metaplanet (MTPLF), and Nakamoto (NAKA). The conditional thesis does not imply they share the same balance-sheet profile, financing access, or execution prospects.
