The rupee and dollar figures are two reported currency presentations, not separate growth claims. The 14.9% profit increase and 11.2% revenue increase are year-over-year comparisons in Business Standard’s report; the 0.5% figure measures sequential revenue growth in constant currency, as stated by TCS.
How to read the growth and margin figures
The year-over-year figures compare Q2 FY2026-27 with the same quarter a year earlier. The constant-currency figure instead compares revenue with the immediately preceding quarter while adjusting for currency movements. It should not be treated as another year-over-year growth rate. The 24.0% operating margin is a profitability measure, not a revenue-growth rate.
#1 Best Overall
Growth varied across businesses and regions. TCS reported quarter-over-quarter constant-currency growth of 2.5% in BFSI and 3.1% each in Manufacturing and Technology & Services. Consumer Business declined 0.7%, while Energy, Resources and Utilities declined 0.5%. By region, North America grew 0.4% sequentially in constant currency and India declined 10.3%.
Q2 dividend: amount and dates
TCS declared a dividend of ₹12 per share for Q2 FY2026-27. The company’s official results release gives October 14, 2026 as the record date and October 30, 2026 as the payment date. The record date is the date used to determine eligible shareholders; investors should consult the company’s official announcement and their broker or depository records for account-specific details.

TCS also recorded a ₹12 interim dividend for Q1 FY2026-27 on its dividend-history page, with separate July dates. That earlier quarter’s dividend is distinct from the Q2 declaration and its October dates.
Business developments announced alongside the results
TCS announced a five-year strategic partnership with Porsche AG that includes a proposed acquisition of Porsche’s Germany-based management and IT consulting subsidiary MHP, subject to regulatory approvals. It also announced an agreement to transition Best Buy’s India Global Capability Center to TCS and transform it into an AI Capability Center. These are business announcements accompanying the results; the announcement alone does not establish that either deal caused the quarter’s financial performance.
Rank #3
What TCS said about AI and demand
TCS reported annualized AI revenue of US$3.1 billion in Q2 FY27. This is an annualized revenue measure, not the amount of AI revenue earned during the quarter. CEO and Managing Director K Krithivasan described growth as broad-based across international markets and most industry segments, and characterized the Porsche and Best Buy announcements as transformation partnerships. COO Aarthi Subramanian said AI momentum remained strong and highlighted demand for AI-native solutions, AI-led enterprise transformation and autonomous global business services.
CFO Samir Seksaria said the company continued investing in capabilities through acquisitions, partnerships and specialist talent, and cited cash conversion and profitability. These are management’s characterizations of performance and strategy, rather than independent forecasts of future results.
