The TCL X11L is a premium 2026 4K SQD-Mini LED TV series available in 75, 85, and 98 inches. TCL advertises exceptionally high brightness, wide color, and thousands of dimming zones; independent reviews of the 85-inch model describe bright, colorful HDR, little visible blooming in the reviewer’s viewing, and better-than-typical built-in audio. The main caveat is that those hands-on reviews centered on the 85-inch set—not separate tests of every size—and TCL’s peak-brightness and color figures are manufacturer claims, not proof of what every scene or model will deliver.
What is the TCL X11L?
Announced by TCL North America on January 5, 2026, the X11L is TCL’s flagship 4K SQD-Mini LED series. TCL describes its display system as combining Super Quantum Dots, CSOT’s UltraColor Filter, an Advanced Color Purity Algorithm, a WHVA 2.0 Ultra panel, and an enhanced Halo Control System. The backlight is conventional Mini LED paired with TCL’s Super Quantum Dot color system; it is not the RGB Mini LED approach highlighted by some competitors, according to RTINGS’ overview.

TCL says the system can reach 100% of the BT.2020 color space and up to 10,000 peak nits. Its current US product page advertises up to 20,736 local dimming zones, while the January launch announcement described up to 20,000 zones and rounded the figure in an executive quote. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of sustained brightness or a guarantee that each size has the same zone count. TCL’s launch announcement and its US product page provide the company’s claims.

The independent review evidence available here focuses on the 85-inch X11L. RTINGS says it purchased and tested that model; it says most results also apply to the 75- and 98-inch versions, while noting that zone counts vary and TCL advertises the 75-inch model as slightly dimmer. That is a reviewer’s stated expectation, not a substitute for direct testing of each size.

Picture quality and HDR
Tom’s Guide also evaluated an 85-inch sample. Its reviewer reports strong brightness, color that held up in bright scenes, and blooming that was barely noticeable during their viewing. Those observations suggest the X11L is designed for viewers who want impactful HDR and vivid color, but they are not a published guarantee for every scene, setting, room, or screen size. The review does not establish that the TV outperforms OLED or every competing LED set in all viewing conditions.
Sound and smart TV
RTINGS identifies Google TV version 14 and a built-in soundbar made by TCL and tuned by Bang & Olufsen. Tom’s Guide describes the included audio as capable of strong volume and decent clarity, better than the typical TV audio in its assessment. Built-in sound may suit everyday viewing, but the sources do not establish that it replaces a dedicated home-theater system for every room.

TCL announced Gemini for Google TV and lists Dolby Vision 2.0 Max and Xbox Game Pass app support as over-the-air features. These are announced features whose availability may depend on software and region; the announcement does not establish that every feature is active on every X11L in every market. TCL also advertises expandable audio with an optional wireless subwoofer and Dolby FlexConnect 4.1.4 capability.
Key specifications and connectivity
The model-family specification sheet lists the following features. It is a retailer-hosted specification document, not a performance test, and warns that specifications can change without notice. Tom’s Guide likewise reports four HDMI 2.1 inputs supporting 4K at 144Hz. Confirm the documentation for the exact regional model before purchase.

75X11L vs. 85X11L vs. 98X11L: price and size
TCL North America announced the following US manufacturer’s suggested retail prices in 2026. They are launch MSRP, not a promise of current selling price. At access on October 7, 2026, TCL’s US product page showed the 75-inch 75X11L at $2,999.99 with a crossed-out $5,999.99 reference price. That volatile page snapshot applies only to that listing and does not establish current prices for the 85- or 98-inch models.

Prices are from TCL’s January 2026 US announcement; physical measurements and weights are from the X11L specification sheet hosted by P.C. Richard & Son. Measure the room and check the selected model’s current installation documentation, including wall-mount requirements, before ordering.
Choose the 75-inch model if…
- Your room, viewing distance, or installation space makes the smaller screen the practical fit.
- The set’s advertised premium features appeal to you, but the larger models exceed your budget or physical constraints.
- You are comparing a local deal: verify the final price, regional model, delivery, and installation terms rather than assuming a US product-page price applies elsewhere.
Choose the 85-inch model if…
- You want a very large screen and can accommodate its 74.33-inch stand width and 107.81-pound listed weight.
- You value the fact that the published independent reviews discussed here tested this size.
- The 85-inch price and room fit make more sense to you than stepping up to 98 inches.
Choose the 98-inch model if…
- Your room and viewing position can make use of an especially large screen.
- Your furniture, doorway route, wall or stand, and installation plan can handle a set listed at 85.71 inches wide and 154.98 pounds with stand.
- You are comfortable with the announced $9,999.99 US MSRP as a reference point and will verify the actual price for your market.
The size table is a starting point, not a viewing-distance prescription: the sources do not provide a universal ideal distance for each model. Check the route into the room and the mounting or stand capacity as carefully as the screen width, especially for the 98-inch version.

Is the TCL X11L worth it?
The X11L is worth considering if a very large premium TV with Mini LED brightness, TCL’s advertised wide color and high zone count, 144Hz refresh, four HDMI 2.1 inputs, and broad HDR-format support matches your priorities and budget. The independent 85-inch reviews provide encouraging observations about brightness, color retention in bright scenes, blooming, and built-in sound, but they do not establish the same hands-on results for every size.
For someone switching from an LG TV, the useful comparison is not the brand name alone: decide whether the X11L’s Mini LED presentation and feature set suit your room and viewing habits, and compare the exact model and local price. The evidence here does not establish a direct, model-matched LG comparison or represent user experiences as a whole. Buyers in the UK or elsewhere should verify local pricing, feature availability, model specifications, warranty, and installation conditions rather than relying on US MSRP or a US product page.
