TCL 75P7LS Review: Specs, 120Hz Claims and What to Know Before Buying

The TCL 75P7LS is a 75-inch 4K QLED television with Google TV, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support. Its Australian specification sheet lists a 60 Hz panel with DLG 120—not a native 120 Hz panel—and one HDMI 2.1 input. Those official specifications make it possible to assess what the TV offers on paper, but they do not establish how bright, responsive or impressive it is in real-world viewing.

What the TCL 75P7LS offers

TCL positions the P7LS as a large-screen QLED TV. The company describes the series as using an HVA 2.0 panel and AiPQ processing, alongside Google TV and Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support. Its product page also claims up to 93% DCI-P3 colour gamut, based on TCL laboratory data; TCL cautions that results may vary with testing environment and standards. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent performance measurements. TCL Australia’s P7LS product page

The Australian specification sheet lists 4K resolution (3840 × 2160), HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG support. It gives 350 nits peak brightness, 6000:1 typical contrast, a 6.5 ms grey-to-grey response time and 2 × 15 W audio output. These are TCL-published figures, not lab results from an independent reviewer, so they should not be treated as proof of actual HDR impact, motion clarity or sound quality. TCL also notes that specifications may change. TCL Australia 75P7LS specification sheet

Is the TCL 75P7LS a 120 Hz TV?

Not according to TCL’s Australian specification sheet: it identifies the 75-inch model’s panel as 60 Hz with DLG 120. The “120” wording should not be read as confirmation of a native 120 Hz panel. The sheet does not explain the DLG implementation, so buyers who need native 120 Hz for a particular gaming or PC setup should verify that requirement with TCL and check independent testing before purchase.

  • Dolby Atmos Audio: Advanced spatial audio processing can be found in movies, TV shows, and video games

How many HDMI 2.1 ports does it have?

The Australian specification sheet lists one HDMI 2.1 input and two HDMI 2.0 inputs. That is a port count, not a complete account of which HDMI 2.1 features are supported or how they perform. If you plan to connect several devices that depend on specific HDMI capabilities, confirm the relevant features and port assignment for the Australian model before buying.

What is the sound system like?

The Australian sheet specifies two 15 W audio outputs for the 75-inch model. TCL New Zealand distinguishes it from the 85-inch P7LS: the ONKYO 2.1 system is available on the 85-inch model, while the 75-inch and smaller models use 2.0 speakers. Do not assume the larger model’s speaker configuration applies here. The available specifications do not establish listening quality, bass performance or dialogue clarity. Can you wall-mount the TCL 75P7LS?

Yes. Costco Australia lists VESA 300 × 300 mm compatibility for the model, but the wall bracket is not included, as TCL’s specification sheet states. Choose a bracket rated for the TV’s weight and size, and check the wall type and installation requirements before mounting. Costco Australia’s TCL 75P7LS listing

Price and warranty depend on region

TCL’s retrieved product pages list an RRP of A$1,699 in Australia and NZ$2,999 in New Zealand. These are regional advertised RRPs, not a like-for-like comparison or a guarantee of current retailer pricing; check local availability and current offers. TCL Australia support lists a 36-month warranty for Australia. That warranty term should not be assumed to apply in other countries. Is it a good TV?

The published specifications make the 75P7LS a plausible option for someone seeking a large 4K QLED screen with Google TV and Dolby Vision support, but they are not enough to establish overall picture quality or value. The 60 Hz panel specification matters if you are shopping for native 120 Hz gaming, and the single HDMI 2.1 input may matter if multiple connected devices need that port. Its listed 350-nit peak brightness is a manufacturer figure, not an independent brightness test.

A CHOICE page titled “TCL 75P7LS review” exists, but its test results and conclusions are not available in the material that could be verified here. No independent findings on brightness, contrast, viewing angles, motion, input lag or sound are therefore included. For a buying decision that depends on those qualities, look for accessible hands-on test results for the exact 75-inch model and regional version. CHOICE TCL 75P7LS review page
