Whether it is worth buying depends on your local price, room and viewing habits, and the exact regional model you can get.
What is the TCL 65C6K?
The 65C6K is the 65-inch model in TCL’s C6K QD-Mini LED range. TCL’s Europe product page lists QLED colour, an HVA panel, AiPQ Pro processing, Onkyo 2.1-channel audio and a native 144Hz refresh rate. The page advertises up to 512 dimming zones across the range, not a confirmed zone count for every size or market. TCL Europe’s C6K product page also says specifications are subject to change.

Regional versions are not necessarily identical. TCL’s UK listing uses the code 65C6K-UK and specifies a matte HVA panel and a two-year warranty. Australian specifications cited below describe that market’s configuration. Check the exact model suffix and local specification sheet rather than assuming that a feature or component listed in one region applies everywhere.
How good is its picture?
TechRadar’s review describes vibrant colour, good detail and black levels that were stronger than expected for an affordable Mini LED TV. The review also notes occasional black crush, some flatness or over-sharpness, and other picture issues. These are reviewer observations, not a guarantee of how every sample, firmware version or regional model will look.

TechRadar’s 2025 benchmark measurements were taken on a 55-inch C6K sample, not the 65-inch set. In Filmmaker Mode, it measured 705 nits peak HDR brightness on a 10% white window and 586 nits full-screen. In Standard mode, it measured 984 nits peak on a 10% window and 706 nits full-screen. Those figures describe that tested sample and those specific modes; they should not be treated as measurements of every 65C6K.
TCL also publishes comparative claims about halo control and backlight uniformity, but these are manufacturer figures rather than independent test results. TCL says such results can vary with test environments or standards. For a useful buying decision, give more weight to the independent review’s observed strengths and caveats, while remembering that its benchmark data came from a different screen size.

Is the TCL 65C6K good for gaming?
Gaming is one of the set’s clearest attractions. TechRadar reports support for 4K at 144Hz, variable refresh rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Dolby Vision gaming. TCL’s Australian specification sheet lists ALLM, FreeSync Premium Pro and VRR up to 144Hz, plus a 288Hz mode limited to 2K resolution. The 288Hz figure is therefore not a 4K refresh rate.

Actual signal support depends on the regional model, selected picture or game mode, input and source device. Before buying, verify the specification sheet for your country and the connection requirements of your console or PC. Do not assume every HDMI input supports the same maximum signal just because the TV’s headline refresh rate is 144Hz.

How good is the built-in sound?
TCL’s Australian sheet specifies Onkyo 2.1-channel audio rated at 2 × 10W plus 20W, along with Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual:X and eARC. TechRadar found the sound clear and reasonably powerful, but reported a limited soundstage and inconsistent bass. The wattage and feature list do not by themselves establish how immersive the TV will sound in your room.
If you want fuller, more cinematic audio, an eARC-compatible soundbar is a sensible optional addition. Check that the soundbar and TV support the connections and formats you plan to use.

Will the TCL 65C6K fit your wall or room?
TCL’s Australian specification PDF lists a 300 × 300 mm VESA mounting pattern and says the wall bracket is sold separately. It specifies M6 × 16 screws for that market’s configuration. Confirm the chassis dimensions, weight, screw requirements and mount load rating for the exact regional model before installation; hardware can differ between versions.

For viewing, the UK model’s matte HVA panel may be relevant if reflections are a concern, but that panel finish is not established for every region. If you can, check the precise SKU or view the TV in your intended lighting conditions before deciding.

What did the review price tell us?
TechRadar listed a UK launch-era price of £799 for the 65-inch model in its 2025 review. That is a historical reference, not a current offer or a recommendation for what to pay today. Compare live prices for the exact regional SKU and account for any soundbar or mount you would need.
TechRadar’s review also discusses the C7K as a step-up model with a different, more powerful audio system, but the available evidence does not establish a like-for-like measured comparison for the 65-inch C6K. Treat that as a potential comparison to investigate locally, not proof of a specific picture-quality gap.
Should you buy the TCL 65C6K?
The 65C6K makes the most sense if you want a 65-inch Mini LED TV with a strong set of gaming features and value-oriented picture performance, and your local price is attractive. Look elsewhere or budget for external audio if you place a premium on consistent shadow detail, a naturally balanced image, or a wide, weighty soundstage. Check your market’s exact model, panel finish, warranty and supported gaming signals before ordering.
