Is the Tapo MagCam deal still $65?
The $64.99 price comes from T3’s Prime Day smart-home deal coverage, which shows a June 24, 2026 date. That page does not verify a live offer on October 7, 2026, and it does not establish which MagCam configuration the Amazon listing represents. Price and bundle contents can differ, so check both on the retailer page before buying.

That distinction matters because “Tapo MagCam 2K+” can refer to the camera, while the solar bundle is identified by TP-Link as the C425 KIT. The manufacturer’s C425 KIT product page lists the camera and an A201 solar panel in the package.
What comes with the C425 solar kit?
TP-Link lists a battery-powered 2K QHD camera, an A201 solar panel, a magnetic base, and a panel bracket in the C425 KIT package. The camera supports a 142-degree diagonal field of view, color night vision, two-way audio, and detection for people, pets, and vehicles. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.

Check the package description carefully: TP-Link’s 2023 launch announcement described the A200 as an optional solar accessory for the original MagCam. It is not the panel listed in the C425 KIT package, which specifies the A201. See the 2023 MagCam announcement for that older accessory context.

Power, weather resistance, and storage
Battery and solar charging
TP-Link claims up to 300 days of battery life, based on laboratory testing with 230 seconds of daily use. The company says actual battery life varies with usage, environmental conditions, and device factors, so the figure is not a guarantee for every installation. The solar panel can provide a charging option, but the package must actually include the A201 for that to apply.

The camera is rated IP66 and the A201 solar panel IP65, according to TP-Link. These ratings apply to separate components; they should not be summarized as one rating for the entire kit.

Recording options
Local recording requires a separately purchased microSD card; the camera supports cards up to 512 GB. TP-Link equates 512 GB to about 28 days of 2K footage. Tapo Care cloud storage is an optional alternative, with plan terms not established by the cited product page.
