What is happening to Tapas and Solo Leveling?
Tapas announced that it is ending service on March 31, 2027. This means the Tapas platform will no longer be accessible after that date, including for reading episodes that users unlocked earlier. Tapas’s announcement does not establish that every Solo Leveling story file is being deleted from publisher archives or removed from every other legal service; it establishes that Tapas access ends. The future availability of individual titles elsewhere is not specified.

Tapas says March 31, 2027, at 23:59 PT is the last time to access content, unlock episodes, and use remaining Ink. If you want to read episodes on Tapas, plan to do so before that deadline. Any Tapas access ends with the service; unlocking an episode now does not preserve it beyond closure.

What happens to remaining Ink?
Tapas stopped allowing users to acquire additional Ink on October 1, 2026, including free Ink from the app. Its notice says there are currently no plans for more Ink sales or events and that prices will remain unchanged. Existing Ink can still be spent before the service ends, but unspent Ink will no longer be usable after March 31, 2027.
Readers who already have Ink can use it to unlock available episodes before the cutoff. This is a limited window to spend existing balances, not an option to buy more Ink.
Can Tapas purchases or unlocked episodes transfer to another service?
No. Tapas says unlocked content cannot be transferred to Kakao Page, Kakao Webtoon, or another platform. An account-data export, if available, should not be treated as a way to preserve access to comics. The announcement does not identify a replacement digital service for Solo Leveling across territories or languages.

A print volume is a separate physical purchase, not a transfer of Tapas unlocks and not a way to preserve a Tapas library. Before buying one, check the edition’s language and current availability; its existence does not establish where the series will remain available digitally.
Can readers get a refund for Ink or unlocked content?
Tapas’s closure FAQ says Ink transactions are final and non-refundable. Its broader [Refund Policy] says in-app purchases are generally final, while allowing that a refund or adjustment may be warranted in special circumstances on a case-by-case basis. That policy does not promise an exception for the service closure or for unused Ink.
- Apple or Google purchase issue: Tapas directs customers to the relevant app store for purchases processed through Apple or Google.
- PayPal purchase issue: Tapas says to contact its support team with the receipt.
- Other refund requests: The published policy describes possible case-by-case adjustments, not a guaranteed refund. It does not resolve refund rights in every jurisdiction.
What should Solo Leveling readers do before the shutdown?
- Check your Ink balance. Decide whether to use any existing Ink before March 31, 2027, at 23:59 PT.
- Read episodes you want to finish on Tapas before the deadline. Previously unlocked episodes will not remain accessible through Tapas after service ends.
- Do not expect transfer or digital preservation through Tapas. Tapas says unlocks cannot move to another platform, and its notice does not confirm a post-closure digital home for the series.
- For a lasting physical copy, verify the print edition. Confirm language and current stock with the seller; a print copy is independent of Tapas and does not change the status of your digital purchases.
What happens to creators and published series?
Tapas says creators may continue publishing for now and titles may remain available through the shutdown unless removed earlier. The announcement does not guarantee that every series will stay up until the final day. Creator exclusivity depends on individual agreements, so no general conclusion about a particular creator’s publishing rights follows from the shutdown notice.
