What Andrews is exhibiting
The show brings together work in several forms: paintings on paper and canvas, alongside three-dimensional painted pieces. The venue describes subjects ranging from landscapes and Australian botanicals to people, still life and interior spaces. The works record places and ordinary moments encountered during caravan travel, rather than focusing only on scenery.
#1 Best Overall
The Cannery Arts Centre calls it Andrews’s first Esperance exhibition in a decade. Its description frames the work as emerging from a “studio on the road” during a year of travelling and making.
How the caravan journey shaped her practice
Andrews’s own updates give context to the journey behind the exhibition. On 11 November 2024, she wrote that she and her husband were preparing to spend a year or two travelling into the landscape, and wondered how working outdoors might affect her art. In an update dated 8 April 2025, she listed oils, watercolour, oil sticks, canvas and cold-pressed paper among the materials she was taking along.
Rank #2
That interest in plein-air painting—the practice of making work outdoors—sits alongside the exhibition’s wider mix of subjects and formats. Her 2026 news entry said a solo showcase drawn from Australian landscape travel, including its people, places and everyday activity, was planned for the Cannery Arts Centre in October. Read her dated updates on Andrews’s website.
