The official game is available on Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and supports local co-op for up to four players during battles—not built-in online co-op.

Is “Definitive Edition” an official release?
No. Bandai Namco’s official console title is Tales of Symphonia Remastered, while the Steam listing uses Tales of Symphonia. “Definitive Edition” refers here to an unofficial fan project, not a Bandai Namco product. Be cautious with downloads or pages using that name: the project’s reported status does not establish that a public build is available.
Does Tales of Symphonia have co-op or online multiplayer?
It has local co-op during real-time battles, for up to four players total. Bandai Namco’s Remastered page says players can join “up to 3 friends in local co-op mode” to fight in battles. Its original-game page also describes up to four simultaneous players in the battle system.
#1 Best Overall
- Minecraft is a game about placing blocks and going on adventures
- Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles
- Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off the dangerous mobs
- Play on the go in handheld or tabletop modes
- Includes Super Mario Mash-Up, Natural Texture Pack, Biome Settlers Skin Pack, Battle & Beasts Skin Pack, Campfire Tales Skin Pack; Compatible with Nintendo Switch only
This supports local multiplayer in battles; it does not establish four-player story exploration. The official sources do not advertise online co-op, so do not assume you can play together over the internet. Steam’s listing also identifies local co-op among its features.
What mods are available for the PC version?
PC players can find community-made fixes and enhancements. A Steam Community guide to Tales of Symphonia “Fix” documents options including a framerate-limiter fix, rendering and resolution settings, texture support, anti-aliasing, and adjustments related to menu hitching and load times.

What content and performance should you expect?
Bandai Namco says the console remaster runs at 30 FPS on Switch, PS4, and Xbox One, and describes the Steam version as based on a 30 FPS release. The official information cited here does not establish a native 60 FPS mode for either official edition.
Tales of Symphonia Remastered focuses on the original game; it does not include Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. Bandai Namco says the remaster carries over additional costumes, Mystic Artes, and Compound Unison attacks, and offers English and Japanese voice options. Its Q&A also clarifies that the PC game already contains the in-game content found in the remaster.
