Short answer: use this as a missable-safe launch guide for Tales of Eternia Remastered. Bandai Namco confirms the October 16, 2026 release, both worlds, the principal party, difficulty options and presentation toggles, but has not published an authoritative list of every item, monster, title or achievement. The route below therefore tells you exactly when to stop, save, sweep and record content without inventing unverified names or counts.
Spoiler warning: the structure follows the adventure from Inferia through Celestia and the endgame.

What is confirmed about the remaster
Tales of Eternia Remastered is a single-player RPG using the Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System and dynamic 2D battles. Reid Hershel, Farah, Keele and Meredy travel between Inferia and Celestia while trying to prevent a disaster threatening the two intertwined worlds. Bandai Namco describes it as “a timeless JRPG where a band of heroes race to prevent a disaster that could destroy two intertwined worlds.”
The remaster launched worldwide on October 16, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam. The launch announcement confirms Battle Retry, Quick Recovery, boost options and Extreme difficulty from the start. Unknown difficulty unlocks after completing the game. A separate Graphics Mode and SFX Mode let you switch between remastered and original presentation.

Steam’s product listing confirms Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud. Official launch material does not yet publish a complete collectible, monster, title, trophy or achievement list, so no responsible guide can give a verified total or claim that a particular item is missable without checking the released game data.
Choose a completion setup before starting
Difficulty
- Normal/standard progression: the safest first-run choice while you learn the battle system and map every area.
- Extreme: available from the beginning according to the launch announcement. Select it only if you are prepared to retry fights and maintain better equipment and resource records.
- Unknown: a post-clear option, not an opening choice.
Presentation
Graphics Mode and SFX Mode are separate switches. Pick remastered visuals and sound for the updated presentation, or use the original modes if you prefer the classic look and audio. Changing presentation does not replace your completion checklist.
Save discipline
- Keep three rotating manual saves rather than overwriting one file.
- Make a fresh save before every major departure, story-controlled journey, dungeon entrance and final approach.
- Use a separate endgame save before entering the last sequence. It is the file you will use for post-game cleanup.
- After every new area, record its name, the monsters encountered, every chest or visible pickup, shop inventory, recipes or skills learned, optional scenes and the location of the nearest save point.
Chronological missable-safe route
1. Opening chapters in Inferia
During the opening, learn the Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System rather than rushing through dialogue. Treat every early battle as a data opportunity: record each enemy name exactly as the game displays it and mark whether the entry came from a normal encounter or a boss fight.

- Before advancing a story scene, talk to every available non-player character more than once if dialogue changes.
- Search the entire playable area, including corners behind buildings, side rooms and paths that become inaccessible after an event.
- Check every container, chest and pickup, then write down the item name and area.
- Open every shop menu, note equipment and consumables, and buy or record anything that may disappear after a departure.
- Check cooking, recipes, skills and title-related menus whenever a new town or party member becomes available.
- Save before the first major boss and keep that save until its monster entry and any reward have been logged.
2. Inferia travel and each town or dungeon transition
Use the same four-pass sweep whenever the story sends you to another Inferian location:

- People: speak with every NPC and trigger every visible skit or optional scene before activating the next objective.
- Items: search rooms, rooftops, side paths and containers; check that the item appears in your inventory before leaving.
- Systems: inspect shops, recipes, skills, titles and any minigame or training activity currently offered.
- Exit: save immediately before the world-map transition, then create another save once the new area loads.
If an objective changes the map, closes a route or moves the party automatically, stop and finish this sweep first. The official material does not identify which Inferia interactions are permanently missable, so the safe rule is to complete all available optional content before every forced departure.
3. The transition from Inferia to Celestia
This is the most important checkpoint in a first completion run. Before accepting the journey that takes the party from Inferia to Celestia:
- Return to every previously accessible town and check for new dialogue, scenes, shops, recipes, skills and title conditions.
- Revisit optional routes and battle areas for monsters that have not yet been recorded.
- Finish any minigame or one-time interaction currently available.
- Create a dedicated pre-transition save and do not overwrite it.
After the transition, compare your ledger with the pre-transition save. If an entry is missing, reload before continuing rather than assuming it can be recovered later.
4. Celestia progression
Celestia follows the same checklist rhythm, but do not assume that an Inferia item, monster or title can be completed after the worlds separate. At every Celestian town, dungeon and world-map stop:

- Map every branch before following the main marker.
- Record normal encounters separately from bosses.
- Check all merchants before and after major story events.
- Trigger available skits and optional scenes before entering the next story area.
- Look for new recipes, skills and title requirements after each party or story development.
- Save before entering a boss room and after confirming its reward and encyclopedia entry.
Do not mark a title or scene as permanently missable solely because it has not appeared yet. The publisher has not released a complete missables list; record the condition you observed and keep a pre-event save until the game confirms the result.
5. Endgame approach
When the story points toward its final sequence, stop for a full cleanup pass. Visit every accessible settlement and revisit every route that remains open. Complete outstanding conversations, skits, recipes, skills, minigames and title conditions. Finish normal-encounter entries before concentrating on bosses and optional superbosses.
Make two endgame saves: one before the final commitment and one immediately after the clear screen. The first protects unfinished side content; the second is the source file for post-game difficulty and optional-boss work.

Items
Maintain one row per pickup with these fields: area, sub-area, item name as displayed, acquisition method, and whether the route remains accessible after the next story event. Include chest contents, visible pickups, event rewards, shop-only equipment, recipe materials and boss rewards. A shop item is not complete merely because you saw it; record whether you purchased it or otherwise obtained it.

Monsters
Use three separate sections in your encyclopedia ledger:
- Normal encounters: enemies found during ordinary exploration or random battles.
- Bosses: mandatory story fights, with the area and first-clear reward.
- Optional superbosses: post-game or side-content fights kept separate from the story list.
Record the game’s exact spelling, location, and whether the entry was earned before or after a story transition. Do not infer a missing entry from a guide’s generic enemy description; verify the name in the in-game encyclopedia.

Keep a second ledger for titles, skits, optional scenes, minigames and time-sensitive events. For each entry, record the trigger, required party or story state, location, reward and the save file used before attempting it. Because the official launch sources do not identify which entries are missable, treat every one-time interaction as potentially missable until you have tested it after the relevant story change.

Achievements and trophies by platform

For Steam, keep the in-game ledgers above and let the achievement client register progress as you play. For console versions, compare your completed ledger with the platform’s own list once it is available; do not assume that Steam and console requirements are identical.
Post-game cleanup and Unknown difficulty
Load the post-clear save, then review the encyclopedia, titles and item ledger. Finish any optional superbosses, remaining minigames and accessible scenes before beginning a higher-difficulty run. Unknown difficulty unlocks after completing the game, so it belongs in this cleanup phase rather than the opening setup.
If an entry remains unresolved, reload the dedicated pre-final save and test the relevant event before committing to another clear. This preserves a known recovery point without claiming that an unverified item, title or scene is permanently lost.

The release date, platforms, story party, two-world setting, battle system, remaster options, presentation modes, Steam features and Unknown-difficulty unlock are confirmed by Bandai Namco’s 2026 launch and product information. Those sources do not publish a complete authoritative count or name list for items, monsters, titles, missables, achievements or trophies. A genuinely verified 100% database therefore requires the released game data and each platform’s final list; until then, the save-and-ledger route above is the safest way to build a complete personal checklist without relying on invented entries.
