What both editions include
The complete remastered adventure
Standard and Deluxe both include the remastered RPG set across Inferia and Celestia. Reid Hershel, Farah Oersted, and Meredy confront the Grand Fall in the same main campaign regardless of edition. The publisher’s descriptions do not identify a story route, playable character, boss, dungeon, or ending reserved for Deluxe.

Bandai Namco Europe summarized the approach this way: “Nothing about the original adventure has been lost along the way, and the choice of how to play it is always yours.” That makes Standard the straightforward choice when your priority is experiencing the game itself.
Modern quality-of-life options
The remaster adds systems that are present in the base game supplied with either edition:
- Destination markers to make objectives and travel easier to follow.
- Boost controls for experience gain and encounter frequency.
- High-speed auto-battle for routine fights.
- Battle Retry after a defeat.
- Quick Recovery options.
- Separate graphics and sound-effects toggles.
- English and Japanese voice options.
- Extreme difficulty available from the start.
- Unknown difficulty unlocked after completing the game.
These features are not Deluxe bonuses; buying Standard does not remove any of them.
Platforms and release timing
The global publisher announcement gives an October 16, 2026 launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam. Steam records October 15, 2026 for its regional PC release timestamp. The one-day difference reflects storefront timing by region rather than different game content.

What Digital Deluxe adds
Super Growth Support Item Set
The Super Growth Support Item Set consists of consumable progression aids. They are intended to reduce some leveling or resource pressure, not to open a separate campaign. Because they are consumables, their practical value depends on how often you use support items and whether you prefer an unassisted challenge.
Battle BGM Pack
The Battle BGM Pack adds music options for combat. It is a customization extra: it changes the sound of battles but does not add fights, areas, or story scenes. It will matter most to players who enjoy alternate arrangements or want more control over the remaster’s presentation.
Digital Artbook & Soundtrack
Deluxe includes a digital artbook and soundtrack as separate media extras. They are useful for fans who collect concept art and game music, but they do not affect in-game progression. Check the platform’s delivery method before purchase if you specifically want downloadable files, a built-in viewer, or soundtrack playback outside the game; the publisher’s summary confirms the items but does not describe every storefront’s file format.
Is Digital Deluxe worth the premium?
Choose Standard when the campaign is your priority
Standard is the better value for a first playthrough, a budget-limited purchase, or anyone who rarely uses consumable boosts and does not need digital collectibles. You receive the same remastered story, characters, systems, difficulty options, and platform support. The money saved can be reserved for another game or a later upgrade decision.

Choose Deluxe for the extras, not for more game
Deluxe makes sense when you already know you want the artbook and soundtrack, expect to replay battles with different music, or prefer having growth-support items available from the beginning. It is also the natural fit for series collectors who value digital memorabilia even when it has no effect on the campaign.
How to think about the consumables
Support items are most useful if you plan to experiment with difficulty, shorten routine grinding, or move quickly through a second playthrough. They are less compelling if you intend to play on the default settings, enjoy earning every level naturally, or avoid item-assisted progression. The remaster’s built-in Boost controls already let every edition adjust experience and encounter frequency, so Deluxe is not the only way to make progression faster.
Price, currency, and storefront differences
European publisher prices
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe lists Standard at €29.99, Digital Deluxe at €49.99, and the Deluxe Upgrade Pack at €24.99 in 2026. The upgrade price is lower than buying Deluxe from scratch, but it still represents a separate purchase on top of Standard. Confirm whether your store offers the upgrade for the platform and territory where you bought the base game.

Steam’s Korean storefront displays ₩39,800 for Standard and ₩69,800 for Deluxe. These figures are specific to that storefront and the date accessed in 2026. Steam prices can change with taxes, exchange rates, regional pricing updates, and promotions, so do not use the Korean amounts to predict what another country will be charged.

Why your checkout total may differ
- Digital stores apply local tax rules and currency conversion.
- Console and PC storefronts can set different regional prices.
- Launch discounts and seasonal sales can temporarily change the gap between editions.
- A Deluxe purchase may be listed as a bundle, while an upgrade appears as downloadable content on the same store page.
Read the itemized checkout screen rather than assuming a sale applies to both the full Deluxe edition and the upgrade.
Physical Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 editions
Bandai Namco Japan’s product table distinguishes package Standard editions, download Standard editions, a package-only special edition, a download-only Deluxe Edition, and a Deluxe Upgrade Pack. Its Japan-specific physical listings describe bonuses such as a reversible jacket, a three-pin badge set, an acrylic diorama, eight illustration cards, and a 13-piece sticker set. The Deluxe row lists the Super Growth Support Item Set, Battle BGM Pack, and Digital Artbook & Soundtrack.
Those package bonuses are tied to the Japanese catalog and should not be treated as worldwide contents. Availability, language, packaging, age rating, and compatibility can differ in another country. Official listings confirm physical Switch and Switch 2 packages, but they do not establish current stock, seller reliability, or price at any particular retailer.

- You prefer not to tie the base game permanently to a digital account.
Checks before ordering an imported package
- Confirm whether the listing is for Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2; do not assume one cartridge or package serves both systems without an explicit statement.
- Check the region, language options, and any account or DLC restrictions.
- Compare the package contents with the official regional product table, especially when a seller uses “Deluxe” to describe a bundle.
- Verify total cost, shipping, taxes, return terms, and stock at checkout.
Can you upgrade from Standard to Deluxe later?
Yes, a separate Deluxe Upgrade Pack is listed for Europe at €24.99, and Steam lists a separate Deluxe Upgrade Pack alongside other level-up downloadable content. The exact entitlement and purchase flow are storefront-specific. In general, use the same platform account that owns Standard, open the game’s downloadable-content or add-on section, and confirm that the upgrade is compatible with your base-game region before paying.

- Open the store page for Tales of Eternia Remastered on your platform.
- Look under add-ons, downloadable content, or edition options for “Deluxe Upgrade Pack.”
- Read the included-items list and check that it names the Super Growth Support Item Set, Battle BGM Pack, and Digital Artbook & Soundtrack.
- Confirm the account, platform, and region match your Standard license.
- Complete the purchase, then restart the game or use the platform’s download-management screen if the extras do not appear immediately.
Buying the upgrade later can be a sensible compromise: start with Standard, then pay for the extras only if your play style or collecting priorities change. Because prices and availability can move, compare the live upgrade price with any discounted Deluxe bundle before checkout.

What Deluxe does not include
Based on the publisher’s edition lists, Deluxe does not add a second story campaign, an exclusive playable character, a new region, or a different ending. It also does not replace the remaster’s normal difficulty progression: Extreme is available immediately to all buyers, while Unknown unlocks after completion. Treat any retailer description that promises additional narrative content as requiring verification against the official product page.
Steam review context
Steam currently shows 86% positive from 107 user reviews, a snapshot accessed in 2026. That percentage is a changing user-review indicator, not a critic score and not a measurement of the difference between Standard and Deluxe. Reviews can change as more players submit feedback, so use them to identify technical or usability themes rather than as a permanent quality grade.

How to buy without choosing the wrong version
- Choose your platform first: PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, or Steam.
- Check the store’s edition name and the complete contents list; “Deluxe” should mention the three listed extras.
- Verify currency, taxes, sale terms, and whether the displayed amount is for the full game or only the upgrade.
- If buying physical, confirm the package region, console generation, language support, and included bonuses.
- Save the receipt or order record, particularly when purchasing an imported package or a platform upgrade.
Verdict
Standard is the sensible default because it contains the entire remastered adventure and every core gameplay improvement. Digital Deluxe is a discretionary upgrade for fans who place real value on the artbook, soundtrack, alternate battle music, or growth-support consumables. If you are undecided, buy Standard and reassess after you understand how much those extras matter to your playthrough; the separately listed upgrade gives you that option where your storefront supports it.
