The safest hard cutoff currently documented is crossing Mt. Farlos. Before that transition, complete all six Katrine-and-Pierre encounters, confirm them in a written checklist, and create a manual save. After the party returns from Celestia, visit the second floor of Inferia City’s Royal Observatory to receive the chain’s concluding Farah title event.
This is a completionist checklist for confirmed and explicitly documented missables. No remaster-specific source has published an authoritative total covering every potentially missable chest, recipe, title, monster-book entry, or short NPC scene, so the six-event chain must not be treated as the game’s complete missables universe.

What is actually permanently missable?
The best-established permanent lockout is the six-part Katrine/Pierre side-event chain in Inferia. Its documented gate is the party’s crossing of Mt. Farlos. If one of the six encounters was skipped before that crossing, the available evidence does not provide a later recovery route. Protect the chain with a manual save immediately before entering the transition.

Six-event Katrine and Pierre checklist
Use this table as the pre-Mt. Farlos sign-off. The marker column records only what the available documentation establishes; an unlisted marker is not proof that an event is safe to skip.
| # | Trigger location | Earliest or story condition | Hard gate | Marker status | Recovery and confidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mintche exercise field near the university entrance | First Katrine/Pierre meeting | Before crossing Mt. Farlos | Not specifically stated | No documented recovery; confirmed chain entry |
| 2 | Morle food shop | Directions conversation with Katrine | Before crossing Mt. Farlos | Not specifically stated | No documented recovery; confirmed chain entry |
| 3 | Inferia Harbor, regular ship dining area | Return after the Forest of Temptation | Before crossing Mt. Farlos | Not specifically stated | No documented recovery; confirmed chain entry |
| 4 | Barole bookstore | Bookstore conversation | Before crossing Mt. Farlos | Not specifically stated | No documented recovery; confirmed chain entry |
| 5 | Chambard armor-shop or fashion-shop fitting room | Fitting-room conversation | Before crossing Mt. Farlos | Not specifically stated | No documented recovery; confirmed chain entry |
| 6 | Regulus Dojo | After the Valley of Fire Spirits | Before crossing Mt. Farlos | Not specifically stated | No documented recovery; confirmed chain entry |
1. Mintche: trigger the opening scene
Go to the exercise field beside the university entrance in Mintche and trigger the opening Katrine scene. This is the first recorded meeting in the chain, so do it as soon as the area is available rather than assuming a later visit will preserve it.
2. Morle: finish the directions conversation
Enter Morle’s food shop and complete the conversation in which Katrine gives directions. Do not leave after the first line if the interaction has multiple dialogue prompts; the checklist requirement is the completed directions conversation.
3. Inferia Harbor: revisit the ship dining area
After the Forest of Temptation sequence, return to Inferia Harbor and use the regular ship dining area. The required scene is the Katrine conversation there, not merely entering the harbor or using another ship facility.

4. Barole: speak in the bookstore
Visit the Barole bookstore and finish the Katrine/Pierre bookstore conversation. Record it immediately in your checklist before advancing the main story.
5. Chambard: check the fitting room
In Chambard, inspect the fitting-room area associated with the armor or fashion shop and complete the conversation. The two shop descriptions refer to the same documented fitting-room encounter; search the interior rather than stopping at the storefront.
6. Regulus Dojo: return after the Valley of Fire Spirits
Once the Valley of Fire Spirits segment is complete, go to Regulus Dojo and trigger the Katrine event. This is the sixth required encounter and the last one to verify before the Mt. Farlos transition.
The Mt. Farlos safety gate
- Open your checklist and mark all six encounters complete: Mintche, Morle, Inferia Harbor, Barole, Chambard, and Regulus Dojo.
- Create a manual save in a separate slot immediately before crossing Mt. Farlos. Do not overwrite it with an automatic or rotating save.
- Only then cross the mountain and continue the story.
The evidence supports Mt. Farlos as the hard cutoff for this chain, not as proof that every optional activity in the entire game becomes unavailable at that instant. Keep the distinction clear: this is a confirmed gate for Katrine/Pierre, while other content needs its own timing check.

Final Observatory event after Celestia
After the party returns from Celestia, go to Inferia City and enter the Royal Observatory. Take the stairs to the second floor and trigger the concluding event. The event is documented only if all six Inferia-side Katrine subevents were seen before the trip to Celestia.
The reward is Farah’s concluding title. One guide renders the title as Love Negotiator, while RPG Site’s 17 October 2026 walkthrough calls it Cupid. This is a localization or naming discrepancy, not evidence of two separate rewards; check the title text used by your edition.
Destination Icons: the marker-first routine
Turn on every available map marker before beginning an exploration sweep:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Open Menu > Custom > Destination Icons.
- Enable all marker types.
- Use the icons as a priority list whenever you enter a new town, dungeon, or story region.
- Yellow destination icon: identifies the current main objective. Finish nearby optional checks before following it through a story transition.
- Star icon: marks a location containing a valuable item. Visit the location before leaving the area. The star is a location checklist, not proof of a particular item name or proof that the item is permanently missable.
- Hourglass icon: marks an event with limited availability, including some title or item scenes. Treat it as urgent and resolve it before advancing the story.
- Blue exclamation mark: identifies an event that teaches a new arte. Investigate it before leaving the region.
Marker absence has no safe interpretation beyond “the interface is not flagging this category.” It does not prove that an NPC lacks a unique conversation, title condition, recipe, or one-time scene. Continue using manual saves and local NPC sweeps for unmarked content.

Other explicitly documented missable examples
| Content | What to do | Timing information | Reward or consequence | Evidence status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Equipment-shop kid-thief route | Follow the kid-thief sidequest connected to the equipment shop. | The exact final cutoff is not published in the available walkthrough summary. | Rune Bottle; the route is described as leading to a missable item later. | Missable item explicitly documented; precise lockout unconfirmed |
| Imen title event | Before checking in on Meredy, speak with Bonz near the library. | Before the Meredy check-in. | Keele’s Disheveled title. | Walkthrough marks the title as missable |
Rune Bottle: protect the kid-thief route
When the equipment-shop kid-thief sidequest appears, finish its route rather than postponing it for a later town visit. The documented warning is specifically about a Rune Bottle obtained through the route and a later missable item. Because the published summary does not identify every dialogue trigger or the exact story flag that closes it, keep a pre-sidequest save and do not assume that New Game+ will restore the missed state.
Imen: talk to Bonz before Meredy
At Imen, find Bonz near the library and speak with him before checking in on Meredy. The walkthrough identifies this ordering as the condition for Keele’s Disheveled title. If the title matters to your collection, make the Bonz conversation your first Imen objective rather than relying on a return visit.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to sweep optional content without a false sense of completeness
Because no remaster-specific publication establishes a total count for missable chests, recipes, titles, monster-book entries, or brief NPC scenes, a responsible completion route uses layered checks instead of a claimed master number.

- Walk every accessible room, shop interior, dock, library, inn, and side path once.
- Resolve every hourglass and blue-exclamation event shown by Destination Icons.
- Visit every star-marked valuable-item location.
- Speak with NPCs whose dialogue changes after the latest major story event, especially near guilds, libraries, shops, and party-related locations.
- Record titles, arte lessons, key items, and unusual conversations in a running checklist with the current story milestone.
Before a story transition
- Save in a fresh rotating slot instead of overwriting the last area save.
- Check whether the destination is a named gate such as Mt. Farlos, a voyage, a dungeon departure, or the start of a major world-state change.
- Spend or collect limited resources only after optional NPC and shop checks are complete.
When a marker and a guide disagree
Prioritize the concrete event condition over the icon. A marker can identify a valuable location without identifying the item, and an unmarked NPC can still have a one-time scene. Keep the save, perform the conversation, and verify the resulting title, item, or arte in the menu before moving on.

Save management and recovery rules
Use three kinds of saves
- Area save: a rotating slot made when entering a new town or dungeon.
- Event save: a separate slot before a documented or suspected one-time conversation.
- Gate save: a protected manual slot immediately before Mt. Farlos and any similarly irreversible story transition.
Keep at least one older slot untouched. A rotating pattern prevents a mistaken conversation or automatic save from erasing the last recoverable state.
If you crossed Mt. Farlos early
Load the protected pre-crossing save and complete the missing chain entries. If no such save exists, the available documentation does not promise a way to reopen the missed Katrine/Pierre scenes in the current playthrough. Do not assume a later chapter, a return trip, or New Game+ will repair the flag.
If the Observatory event does not appear
- Confirm that all six encounters were completed before the Celestia departure, not merely after returning.
- Return to Inferia City’s Royal Observatory and go specifically to the second floor.
- Check the title list for the edition’s localization of Farah’s reward.
- If the event still fails, load the last pre-Celestia or pre-Mt. Farlos save and replay the missing sequence rather than overwriting your only slot.
What repeats and what does not
Coliseum battles are described as repeatable, and later-playthrough difficulty options provide challenge-oriented replay value. Those systems should not be used as evidence that one-time story conversations, titles, or NPC scenes are recoverable. The documented guides distinguish repeatable Coliseum content and later-playthrough difficulty from the Katrine/Pierre conversations.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Use a second run for challenge goals or experiments, while treating the first run as the preservation run for titles, arte lessons, sidequest rewards, and short scenes. New Game+ is not documented as restoring every missed flag, so it is a fallback for replaying content, not a substitute for a protected save.
Evidence boundary and confidence guide
GeekChamp Team’s 16 October 2026 summary calls the six-part Katrine and Pierre chain the best-documented missable side quest and identifies the Mt. Farlos cutoff followed by the Royal Observatory visit after Celestia. MobilesTalk Team, also dated 16 October 2026, states that no authoritative remaster-specific checklist establishes a complete number of missable chests, recipes, titles, monster-book entries, or brief NPC scenes. Adam Vitale’s RPG Site walkthrough, dated 17 October 2026, documents the Observatory 2F event and names Farah’s reward as Cupid.
Those dated statements support a practical distinction: the six encounters and their gate are confirmed; the Rune Bottle and Disheveled-title warnings are explicitly documented but incompletely timed; and any broader sweep of unlisted chests, recipes, monster-book entries, or NPC scenes remains precautionary unless an edition-specific source gives a trigger and cutoff.
Quick Recap
One-page completion checklist
- Enable all Destination Icons under Menu > Custom > Destination Icons.
- Complete Mintche, Morle, Inferia Harbor, Barole, Chambard, and Regulus Dojo Katrine/Pierre scenes.
- Before crossing Mt. Farlos, verify all six and create a protected manual save.
- After returning from Celestia, visit Inferia City’s Royal Observatory, second floor.
- At Imen, speak with Bonz near the library before checking in on Meredy.
- Follow the equipment-shop kid-thief route and protect a save until the Rune Bottle outcome is recorded.
- Use star, hourglass, and blue-exclamation markers as prompts, not as proof that unmarked content is safe to skip.
- Keep rotating saves for every later story transition; do not rely on New Game+ to restore missed flags.
