If the Takashiro Treasure Hunt is missing in Forza Horizon 6, first verify that the weekly Festival Playlist entry is active, then update and fully restart the game before searching the correct area. The reported chest is in east Takashiro, at a rest area surrounded by pampas grass southeast of Soni Circuit. The paid Treasure Map will not reveal this seasonal chest, so buying or activating that add-on is not a fix.
What the Takashiro problem usually means
Takashiro is a weekly Festival Playlist Treasure Hunt, not a permanent Treasure Car activity. That distinction explains many reports that the hunt, clue, or chest is “not appearing.” A permanent Treasure Car marker can remain on the map even when the Takashiro hunt is not active for the current season, while the seasonal hunt depends on the live Festival Playlist state.

There are four different symptoms, and each points to a different check:
- No Takashiro entry in the playlist: the hunt may not be active for the season you are viewing, or the playlist may be stale.
- The clue is present but the chest marker is unclear: search the actual east-Takashiro rest area rather than relying only on the map icon.
- The clue shows as completed but no chest appears: restart after updating, then return to the reported location.
- The activity remains broken after those checks: document the state and report it through the official Forza Horizon 6 Feedback Portal.
PC Gamer’s 15 October 2026 guide places the chest in east Takashiro, at a rest area surrounded by pampas grass southeast of Soni Circuit. A nearby brown pond-and-long-grass patch is a useful landmark. Completing the hunt is reported to award 100,000 credits, 5,000 XP, and three Season Progress.

Check that the weekly hunt is active
Open the current Festival Playlist
- Open the in-game Festival Playlist.
- Move to the current season’s activities and look specifically for the Takashiro Treasure Hunt entry.
- Confirm that the entry is available to start or track before driving to Takashiro.
Do not treat a permanent Treasure Car marker as proof that the weekly hunt is live. The two activities use different systems, and seeing one does not confirm the other. If Takashiro is absent from the current playlist, searching the chest location cannot activate it.
Check the clue state separately
If the playlist entry is visible, inspect whether the clue is still active, marked complete, or waiting for a further objective. A clue-completion state and a visible chest marker are not necessarily the same display state. Record what the playlist says before changing anything; that screenshot becomes useful if the issue must be reported.
Update, restart, and refresh the playlist
Playground Games’ release notes document fixes for Festival Playlist challenge-completion problems. They do not promise one universal repair for every Takashiro failure, but an outdated game build or stale playlist data is a sensible first check.

- Exit the game and allow the platform to install any pending Forza Horizon 6 update.
- Wait for the update to finish completely; do not launch an older cached build from a quick-resume state.
- Fully close the game rather than merely returning to the dashboard or desktop.
- Launch the game again and open the Festival Playlist from a fresh session.
- Recheck the Takashiro entry and its clue status before travelling to the chest area.
The important distinction is a full restart. A suspended session can preserve an old playlist state, so simply switching menus may leave the same missing marker in place. If the entry appears after the restart, track it again and follow the clue from the refreshed playlist.
Search the reported chest location without relying on the marker
Use the east-Takashiro rest area
Drive to east Takashiro, southeast of Soni Circuit. The reported chest is at a rest area surrounded by pampas grass. The brown pond-and-long-grass patch nearby is the most useful visual landmark described in the published guide.
- Set a route toward Soni Circuit if you need a reference point.
- Travel southeast from the circuit into east Takashiro.
- Look for the rest area enclosed by tall pampas grass.
- Search the grass and the immediate rest-area surroundings at low speed, because a difficult-to-read marker can make the chest seem absent.
- If the chest interaction appears, complete it and allow the game to process the reward before leaving the area.
A map icon can be hard to interpret at driving scale, especially when several nearby terrain features overlap. The absence of a clear symbol is therefore not conclusive by itself; the physical landmark and the playlist state matter more.

When the clue is complete but the chest is not visible
Return to the same rest area after the update-and-restart sequence. Confirm that the clue still shows as completed in the playlist, then search the pampas-grass area again rather than switching to a permanent Treasure Car location. If the chest remains absent after a fresh session, preserve the evidence instead of repeatedly buying add-ons or changing unrelated settings.
Treasure Map: what it does and does not reveal
The paid Forza Horizon 6 Treasure Map is a separate digital add-on. Its official Xbox listing states: “Please note this Treasure Map will not reveal the locations of Seasonal Collectables featured in the Festival Playlist.” The Takashiro chest belongs to that seasonal Festival Playlist system.

Diagnose the failure by symptom

What to capture before contacting support
There is no single published fix that applies to every account or platform state. If the chest is still missing after the checks above, a reproducible report is more useful than a general statement that “the treasure hunt is broken.”
Capture the following while the problem is visible:
- The Festival Playlist page showing whether Takashiro is active.
- The clue screen showing its current state, including a completed-clue status if that is what you see.
- The map view of east Takashiro and the area southeast of Soni Circuit.
- A screenshot or short clip of the pampas-grass rest area where the chest should be.
- Your platform and the game version displayed by the title or platform interface.
- The date and approximate time of the failed attempt, plus whether you had just installed an update or resumed a suspended session.
Submit those details through the official Forza Horizon 6 Feedback Portal. Horizon Meets release notes direct unresolved issues there. Include the exact sequence that produced the failure: for example, “playlist active, clue completed, game updated, full restart performed, chest still absent at east-Takashiro rest area.”
A practical decision path
Use this order so that each check eliminates a different cause:
- Activity check: confirm Takashiro is listed in the current Festival Playlist.
- Build check: install every pending game update.
- Session check: fully close and relaunch the game, then reopen the playlist.
- Location check: drive to the east-Takashiro rest area southeast of Soni Circuit and search the pampas grass near the brown pond-and-long-grass landmark.
- Persistence check: if the clue is complete but the chest remains absent, repeat the location check once in the fresh session.
- Escalation check: collect screenshots, platform and version information, and file a report through the official Feedback Portal.
This sequence separates wrong-activity confusion from a hard-to-read location, stale software state, and a possible service or account bug. It also avoids drawing the wrong conclusion from the permanent Treasure Car marker or from the paid Treasure Map.
Rewards and completion expectations
The published Takashiro guide reports a completion reward of 100,000 credits, 5,000 XP, and three Season Progress. Those rewards apply to completing the seasonal hunt; they do not indicate that the paid Treasure Map has revealed the chest. Wait for the completion notification or playlist progress to update before assuming the reward failed to register.
