TAJÍN describes its US sauce as containing chile, lime juice, sea salt, and a fruity kick. The brand’s Spanish-language product descriptions for certain regional versions identify apricot (chabacano or albaricoque). That detail applies to those descriptions; it should not be assumed for every chamoy brand or formula. TAJÍN’s Tajín Chamoy sauce page calls it “made with 100% natural chiles, lime juice, sea salt and a fruity kick.” This is the manufacturer’s wording, not an independent tasting assessment.

Which should you put on pineapple?
- Choose Clásico if you want a dry, bright chile-lime sprinkle.
- Choose Chamoy if you want a fruity, pourable coating.
TAJÍN’s El Salvador Chamoy product page lists fruits and desserts among its uses, while the brand’s Clásico page says it can enhance fruit. The two products therefore both fit a fruit comparison, but they are not interchangeable in texture.
Is Tajín or chamoy hotter?
Both are chile-based, but the reviewed TAJÍN product pages do not publish a standardized scale that compares Clásico with Chamoy. A heat-level heading alone is not a numeric head-to-head rating. Without comparable ratings or a controlled taste test, there is no supported objective winner for heat.

Heat perception can also vary by person. If you are unsure which suits you, try a small amount on a piece of pineapple and adjust to taste rather than assuming one product is categorically hotter.
