Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon has a new free DLC release: Fists of Fury, listed on Steam as released on 1 October 2026. It adds a questline, fist-boosting gear and a weapon type designed to let players fight with their fists while technically armed—an update aimed at making unarmed combat a viable build.
What Fists of Fury adds
The official Steam listing describes Fists of Fury as free DLC for Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. Its content centers on a hermit in the Horns of the South, who offers a new questline, along with gear that boosts fist combat and a new weapon type compatible with fighting using fists. The listing does not name the items or state how long the quest takes.

The purpose is clear: give players the pieces to pursue an unarmed build. The listing calls unarmed combat a viable build, but does not provide damage figures or a balance comparison with other playstyles. Steam’s Fists of Fury listing provides the release date and feature summary.

How fist combat fits the game
The Fall of Avalon is a first-person open-world RPG inspired by Arthurian legends, set 600 years after King Arthur’s fall. Its existing combat options include melee weapons, shields, bows, magic, throwables and mixtures. Fists of Fury adds another direction to that range rather than replacing those systems. The official game listing estimates 50–70 hours of content across three zones; that is the store’s estimate, not an independently measured playtime figure. See the official Steam game listing.

Fists of Fury is not the paid expansion
The free DLC is separate from Sanctuary of Sarras, which Steam labels as a paid, full-fledged expansion. Some publisher-store editions bundle the base game with that expansion, but the bundle does not change the status of Fists of Fury: it is listed as free. Check the contents of an edition before buying if you are looking specifically for the expansion. The publisher storefront lists its editions and package contents.

An official Steam announcement archive identifies an October 1 announcement titled “Free DLC Fists of Fury + Patch 1.30” and mentions Xbox Play Anywhere support. However, the accessible announcement content does not expose the full Patch 1.30 notes, so its detailed changes cannot be confirmed from that material. The DLC listing confirms the content and date, but not a full list of fixes, performance changes or hardware requirements.
