How certain is the Xbox Series X performance?
The Xbox Store labels the game optimized for Xbox Series X|S, but that label does not establish a particular frame rate, resolution, or level of stability. The available evidence does not include a current controlled Series X test measuring frame rate, frame pacing, resolution, or crashes. Individual community reports are mixed and anecdotal, so they cannot support a confident claim that the game now runs either smoothly or poorly on the console.

Updates show continued development, but PC patch coverage is not proof of equivalent results on Xbox. PC Gamer reported that patch 1.1, in September 2025, added New Game Plus, a head-bobbing option, and equipment-appearance customization (PC Gamer’s patch 1.1 report). Its March 2026 coverage of patch 1.20 described new third-act content and changes to locations and terrain, including a cave, two minibosses, a quest, and a customizable home (PC Gamer’s patch 1.20 report). Those reports describe updates, not measured Series X performance.
- If performance is your deciding factor: look for a recent review that specifically tests the Series X version, or wait for more reliable platform-specific evidence.
- If you can tolerate some uncertainty: the game’s advertised scale and RPG features may matter more to you than an unverified performance verdict.
Which edition makes sense?
Compare the current prices in your own Xbox Store region and decide whether you want the base game or the Sanctuary of Sarras expansion. The Canadian listing accessed in 2026 displayed the base game at CAD $57.99+, the expansion at CAD $18.99, and Excalibur Edition at CAD $83.99+. These are time- and region-specific listing prices, not guaranteed prices elsewhere or today.

The Xbox Store describes the expansion as adding 10–15 hours of adventures, more than 20 dungeons and interiors, new characters and bosses, and over 100 equipment pieces. Those are publisher/store claims, not independently verified content or playtime measurements. The Supporters Pack includes a soundtrack, artbook, and cosmetic item, according to the listing. Consider Excalibur Edition only if its included expansion and extras are worth the difference from buying the base game for you.

A Windows Central report from October 2026 described Xbox Play Anywhere support, including save and achievement carryover between Xbox and PC. Because entitlement details can change and may depend on the current listing, verify that the game is marked Xbox Play Anywhere in the Xbox Store before buying on the assumption that the benefit is included (Windows Central’s report).

Who should buy it?
- Buy it if you want a large, dark Arthurian RPG with exploration, quests, customizable builds, and a choice of first- or third-person view—and you accept that current Series X performance is not firmly established here.
- Wait or buy on sale if you are interested but want to limit the risk of paying full price before finding a recent Series X-specific performance assessment.
- Skip it for now if consistent, verified technical performance is essential to your purchase and you cannot find a current test that answers that question.
