T-Mobile currently advertises up to $1,200 off the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8, but the phone is not an unconditional giveaway: the discount is delivered through bill credits and eligibility depends on the plan and offer path shown for your order. Before buying, confirm whether your checkout requires a new line or a trade-in, and account for taxes on the phone’s pre-credit price and a $35 device connection charge.
Which T-Mobile Galaxy Z Flip8 offer is current?
T-Mobile’s current offers page uses the wording “The new Galaxy Z Flip8. It’s On Us” and advertises up to $1,200 off through bill credits. Its product page separately describes up to $1,200 off with trade-in on Experience More or Experience Beyond. These descriptions do not spell out the promotion in exactly the same way, so the personalized terms shown in your cart and order flow should determine whether you qualify. T-Mobile offers and the Galaxy Z Flip8 product page are the relevant places to check.

The amount also differs from the launch promotion. In a July 22, 2026 announcement, T-Mobile described a launch offer of $1,100 off, leaving $100 to pay, with a new line or eligible trade-in on specified plans. That was the launch offer, not proof of the current promotion. The phone became available August 7, 2026. T-Mobile’s launch announcement provides the dated historical terms; check current offer terms before placing an order.
How to qualify for the new-line offer
T-Mobile’s current offers page lists a “New Line Offer.” It requires qualifying credit, a new line, and qualifying service costing at least $85 per month with AutoPay, plus taxes and fees. Customers with recently cancelled lines may need to reactivate them. The page lists these plan options for this route:

The page does not make the new-line route interchangeable with the product page’s trade-in description. Confirm the plan, line, and any trade-in requirements attached to your specific offer before you submit the order. The listed $85 monthly service amount is the qualifying service threshold, not the device’s total monthly cost. See T-Mobile’s current offers and terms.
How the trade-in offer is described
The product page currently advertises “Get up to $1,200 off with trade-in” for customers on Experience More or Experience Beyond. Its displayed 256GB example shows a $1,199.99 full price and $0 monthly device payments over 36 months when the displayed promotion applies. “Up to” matters: the example does not establish that every customer or trade-in receives the maximum credit. Check the eligible device, condition rules, plan, credit amount, and bill-credit schedule in your own order flow. T-Mobile’s product page is the source for that example and offer wording.

What you may pay, even if the phone is advertised as free
- Upfront tax: T-Mobile lists tax on the device’s pre-credit price as due at sale. The stated 256GB full price is $1,199.99, so the tax is not calculated on a $0 promotional price.
- Device connection charge: The current offers page lists a $35 charge due at sale.
- Service: The new-line offer lists qualifying service at $85 or more per month with AutoPay, plus taxes and fees. Your plan charges continue separately from the device credits.
- Financing and credits: The phone’s pre-credit price is financed, while promotional credits are applied over as many as 36 months. T-Mobile says credits may take two billing cycles to appear.
Because eligibility and offer descriptions can vary by route, review the order summary for the actual device payment, credit amount, service charge, and upfront charges before accepting. T-Mobile says offers are limited time, may change, and may not combine with some other promotions. Current terms are on T-Mobile’s offers page.

What happens if you pay off the phone or cancel service?
If you pay off the device early
T-Mobile says promotional credits end if you pay off the device early. Paying the remaining financed amount therefore can eliminate credits you had expected to receive over the rest of the term. Check the financing and promotion terms before making an early payment. T-Mobile’s offer terms and its launch announcement describe this condition.

If you cancel the entire account
If you cancel the account before receiving all bill credits, the credits stop and the remaining equipment-financing balance may become due. T-Mobile advises contacting it before cancelling an account. The promotional line must also remain active and in good standing for credits to continue. Review the current offer conditions before changing or ending service.
