Nintendo announced on October 6, 2026 that the Nintendo Switch 2 Japanese-Language System (Japan Only) Choose-Your-Game Bundle goes on sale in Japan on November 12, 2026, at a tax-included MSRP of 63,980 yen. The bundle pairs the console with a download code for one of three Nintendo-published games. It is not a three-game pack.
The three game choices
The download code can be redeemed on Nintendo eShop for one of these titles at no additional cost:

- Nintendo Switch Sports Resort (Nintendo Switch 2)
- Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (Nintendo Switch)
Nintendo’s Japanese product page describes this as choosing one game of your choice (お好きなソフトを1つお選びいただけます). Two of the options are native Switch 2 games. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a Switch title, so pick it only if that is the game you want.

Japan-only limits to check before buying
Nintendo’s product page lists this system as for Japan only. Its system language is Japanese, and it can be linked only to a Nintendo Account whose country/region is set to Japan. Nintendo set out these Japanese-language and Japan-account limits in its April 2, 2025 Switch 2 announcement. Anyone outside Japan, or anyone who plans to use an account registered in another region, should treat these limits as the deciding factor before looking at the game choice.
Also note the redemption window. The code must be redeemed by March 31, 2027, so a gift or a resale purchase should be activated well before then.

Is the bundle a good deal?
Nintendo’s announcement does not give a separate-purchase total or state any savings, so no exact discount can be claimed. For context, Nintendo’s May 2026 price revision set the Japanese-language console’s MSRP at 59,980 yen from May 25, 2026. On those figures the bundle’s MSRP is 4,000 yen above the console’s price in that notice. What you get for that difference is the code for one game. Whether it is worth it depends on the game’s own price at the time you buy and on whether you want that title. Retail prices can differ from MSRP, so check current listings.
Which game should you pick?
- Choose Mario Kart World or Nintendo Switch Sports Resort if you want a title built for Switch 2.
- Choose Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream if that is the game you are after. It is a Nintendo Switch game rather than a Switch 2 one.
The announcement material does not name any individual spokesperson. The quoted wording above comes from Nintendo’s corporate news release.
