Its documented features include a 58 mm group head, twin thermoblocks, a 3 L water tank and a range of included accessories. Sunbeam’s brochure describes its heating and milk workflow; CHOICE lists product specifications and lifecycle status, but its public page does not disclose the expert rating or detailed test results.
What the EM7000 is—and what its review evidence establishes
CHOICE classifies the EM7000 as a semi-automatic espresso machine and marks it as a discontinued model. Its page lists a price of $899, but gives no publication date for that figure; it should be read as a page-listed price, not a current asking price or evidence of present availability. CHOICE’s detailed test results and expert rating are behind membership access, so the public information does not establish a test score or measured cup-quality result. CHOICE’s EM7000 page is the independent source for the listed specifications and status. [c001]

Sunbeam’s brochure supplies manufacturer specifications and feature claims, not independent performance measurements. In particular, the stated 15-bar pressure is a specification, not a standalone measure of espresso quality. [c002]

Milk workflow: what Sunbeam claims
Sunbeam says the EM7000 can texture milk and extract espresso simultaneously, describing this as “fast prep espresso.” Its brochure also describes a temperature-sensing steam wand with a temperature gauge. These are manufacturer descriptions; the available public CHOICE page does not provide a test result that verifies preparation speed or milk-texturing performance. [c002]

CHOICE lists a group handle, single-wall one- and two-cup filters, coffee tamp, measuring spoon, cleaning disc and pin, anti-calc water filter, milk-frothing jug and literature among the included items. The product listing also identifies the removable drip tray, hot-water nozzle and cup-warming plate as machine features. Because the model is discontinued and included items can vary with the seller or used unit, confirm what is actually present before buying one secondhand. [c001]
Maintaining or repairing a discontinued EM7000
Cleaning and descaling
The instruction booklet covers first-use preparation, coffee preparation, milk texturing, care and cleaning. It includes a coffee-thermoblock cleaning cycle and descaling procedures for both the coffee and steam thermoblocks. This documents the maintenance tasks, but does not establish how easy or difficult they are in practice. Consult the booklet’s sequence and use compatible cleaning and descaling products rather than improvising a cycle. [c004]

Replacement parts
A Sunbeam service manual dated June 14, 2012 lists example assemblies including drip tray assembly EM70002, water tank assembly EM70003, steam arm assembly EM70005 and thermoblock assembly EM70027. The manual explicitly cautions that not all parts are available as spares. Check the exact model and part number, then confirm fitment, price and current stock with a seller or service provider before ordering; the manual is not evidence of present availability. [c003]
Should you consider one today?
The EM7000 may be relevant to someone evaluating a used unit or remaining stock, but its discontinued status means a purchase decision depends on the particular machine’s condition, included accessories and access to compatible service parts. The documented specifications can help compare it with another machine on concrete features such as group-head size, heating system, tank capacity, filter type, workflow, dimensions and weight. They do not establish how it performs in the cup, and the publicly accessible CHOICE page does not supply its detailed test outcomes. Verify any current price and availability directly with the seller rather than relying on CHOICE’s undated $899 listing. [c001, c002]
