What the Sunbeam BT7200 is
Sunbeam’s New Zealand product page identifies the BT7200 as the Multi Function 22L Oven + Air Fryer. It has a stainless-steel exterior and a claimed 22.0L capacity. The defining difference from a basket-only air fryer is its oven-style cavity and rack layout: it can be used with a wire rack or baking pan as well as the mesh air-fryer basket. That gives it more flexibility for oven-style tasks, but it also makes the appliance a benchtop oven that needs a suitable place to sit.

Sunbeam says the cavity can fit a 12-inch pizza, a 2.8kg roast chicken or a 750g bag of shoestring fries. These are manufacturer-provided examples of capacity, not independent measurements of usable space or cooking results. Sunbeam’s BT7200 product page has the official model details.
Modes, controls and capacity
Sunbeam lists five modes: bake, convection bake, grill, pizza and air-fry. It specifies adjustable racks with two positions and a timer that runs for up to 60 minutes. The product page also says toast can be made using the Pizza setting, with a maximum of six slices; it does not list a separate toast mode.

CHOICE lists the BT7200’s dimensions as 37 × 41 × 40 cm and its weight as 10.1kg. The two sources present dimensions differently, and the available information does not establish whether that reflects orientation or measurement convention. If the oven needs to fit a tight counter space, check the manual or retailer’s measurements before buying rather than relying on either set alone. Accessories and cleaning
Sunbeam lists these items in the box:
- Mesh air-fryer basket
- Baking pan
- Wire rack
- Removable crumb tray
The manufacturer says the basket, wire rack and baking pan are top-shelf dishwasher safe. It recommends washing the crumb tray by hand in mild soapy water. The accessories make the oven format more adaptable than a single-purpose basket, though cleaning involves several separate parts.

What the oil claim means
Sunbeam claims the BT7200 uses “up to 99.6% less oil than a traditional 4L Sunbeam deep fryer.” The claim is from the manufacturer, and the comparison is specifically with that named 4L Sunbeam fryer; it is not an independent test result or a comparison with every deep fryer. CHOICE displays a 69% Expert Rating for the BT7200. Its public page also lists a $299 price, a Warm–230°C range, 1550–1850W claimed power, manual controls and a one-year warranty. The detailed overall and cooking-test fields are members-only on the available page. Warranty and buying in Australia or New Zealand
Warranty terms depend on where the appliance is bought. Sunbeam’s New Zealand product page lists a 12-month replacement warranty. Sunbeam Australia says appliances are covered for 12 months or more and describes a repair-or-replacement guarantee for qualifying faults, subject to exclusions and local consumer rights. - Check available bench space: it is a 22L benchtop oven, and the two sources give different dimensions.
- Match the accessories to your cooking: the included basket, pan, rack and crumb tray support different setups, but the public evidence does not establish how evenly or quickly the oven cooks.
- Consider the timer limit: the maximum listed setting is 60 minutes.
- Look for detailed independent test evidence: CHOICE’s visible rating is not enough to identify particular cooking strengths or weaknesses.
