Short answer: Build a small, dependable core before chasing rarity. Community beginner routes commonly put Speedy and Mighty around your main damage dealer, with Stacky filling the early King-map setup. Save premium gems for the permanent 2x damage and then 2x coins upgrades rather than spending them immediately on Epic-to-Legendary summons. Farm the highest campaign stage you can clear repeatedly without failures, and treat any mythic or legendary pull as useful only if its role, upgrade cost and current map value fit your team.

What you are actually optimizing in the early game
Summoner’s Greed is an idle tower-defense game built around summoning monsters, placing them on a path and upgrading them to stop waves. The store listing also describes offline resource collection, advertising and in-app purchases. Those systems make it tempting to keep summoning, but early progress usually comes from making a few monsters strong enough to clear the next reliable farming stage.

- Gems: the premium currency used for permanent shop upgrades and summons.
- Coins or gold: the ordinary currency used for monster levels, player skills and Seller offers.
- Evolution materials: later-game resources associated with monster evolution and challenge modes.
When players ask how to farm “orbs,” they may mean evolution gems or another currency label used by their current client. The documented beginner priority is campaign progress first; evolution-gem farming is presented as a later system, and unlocks and reward amounts should be checked in your version.
Spend early gems on permanent multipliers first
An Earlygame community guide recommends buying permanent shop upgrades before using gems on Epic-to-Legendary summons. It states a cost of 500 gems for 2x damage, followed by 1,000 gems for 2x coins. These are guide-reported prices, not developer-confirmed fixed values, so open your shop and verify the current amount before buying.
| Priority | Guide-reported cost | Why it helps | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2x damage | 500 gems | Raises damage output across the team, helping waves end sooner and making more stages farmable. | Whether the upgrade is still permanent and whether your live shop shows the same price. |
| 2x coins | 1,000 gems | Improves the return from coin-generating activity, giving you more gold for levels and skills. | The current price, wording and whether the multiplier applies to the activity you are farming. |
| Epic-to-Legendary summons | Varies in the live client | Can produce a strong monster, but gives less predictable early progress than a team-wide multiplier. | Summon cost, available pool and whether the result solves your immediate bottleneck. |
The practical order is simple: save until the first permanent damage multiplier is affordable, buy it if the live shop confirms the offer, then save for the coin multiplier. Do not drain your gem balance on summons just because a higher rarity is available. A rare monster that remains under-leveled does less for your next farming stage than a focused team backed by permanent multipliers.

Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →A practical first team: Speedy, Stacky and Mighty
The Earlygame guide’s suggested King-map core is Speedy, Stacky and Mighty, with Stacky placed between Speedy and Mighty. A separate beginner guide also emphasizes Speedy and Mighty around a main damage dealer. These recommendations overlap on an important principle: combine support with damage instead of spreading gold across every monster you own.
Speedy: the support slot
Use Speedy as part of the support layer around your damage unit. The community guides single Speedy out because a support monster can improve the performance of a stronger attacker without requiring you to level a large roster. Put it where its effect reaches the monsters that are doing most of the killing, then check the in-game description after every major upgrade or balance change.

Stacky: the suggested middle position
The Earlygame route places Stacky between Speedy and Mighty on the King map. Follow that placement as a starting experiment rather than a universal rule: tower-defense layouts can change the number of enemies in range, the time they spend on a tile and which unit receives support. If a wave leaks, move one monster at a time and compare the result on the same stage.
Mighty: the damage anchor
Mighty is the other recurring name in beginner advice. Treat it as a main damage anchor or pair it with whichever unit in your collection has the best current damage output. The goal is not to make Mighty automatically your strongest monster forever; it is to give your early gold a clear destination so that one reliable attacker can carry the team through the next map.
How to use a different high-rarity pull
If you summon a mythic or legendary monster, test it against the job your lineup currently lacks. Replace a member only when the new unit improves a real bottleneck—such as damage on the final wave, control during a rush or support coverage—and when you can afford its upgrades. Rarity alone does not establish that a monster is the best beginner investment.
Choose monsters by role, cost and immediate progression
A current, universal ranking of the best beginner monsters is not established by the available official material. Community recommendations can differ or lag behind updates. Use this decision framework whenever you inspect a mythic or legendary unit.
| Check | Question to ask in the live game | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Battlefield role | Does the monster deal damage, support another unit or stall/control enemies? | Fill the role your current formation is missing instead of duplicating a role you already cover. |
| Upgrade cost | How much gold and which other materials does the next useful level require? | Compare the actual upgrade screen with your available resources before spending. |
| Current progression value | Does it help clear the next wave or map and then farm that stage consistently? | Prefer the unit that improves repeatable progress, not the one with the highest rarity label. |
| Version relevance | Are its ability text, costs and map interactions still the same in your client? | Recheck after updates; community guides are starting points, not permanent balance notes. |
The community monster reference notes that upgrade costs vary by monster. Gold is also spent on player skills and Seller offers, so compare the full cost of a proposed investment with the cost of improving your existing carry. A powerful-looking unit can be a poor early choice if its first useful breakpoint consumes the gold you need to keep your farming team levelled.

Farm gold by repeating the highest reliable stage
Do not define “best farming stage” as the furthest stage you have ever reached. Define it as the highest stage your current team can clear repeatedly, including the final wave, without frequent manual intervention or failed runs. A slightly easier map that completes every time usually produces more usable progress than a barely reachable map that fails halfway through.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteUse the campaign milestones as a route, not a rule
The Earlygame guide describes a route that starts with the King map, then attempts Ragefist Chieftain Normal, and later farms Joint Revenge Normal. The separate beginner guide also recommends repeating Joint Revenge when a wave blocks progress. These are community milestones, not developer-confirmed requirements or a promise that every current account will find them optimal.
- Build the small Speedy–Stacky–Mighty core or an equivalent support-plus-damage formation.
- Replay your current campaign map until the clear is dependable and your next upgrade can be funded.
- Attempt the next named map or difficulty once your team survives its early waves consistently.
- If the attempt stalls on a particular wave, return to the previous reliable stage and repeat it rather than spending all remaining gold on an untested summon.
- Move up again only when the newer stage produces repeatable clears.
This loop turns progression into a measurable test: a new monster or level is worthwhile when it changes a failed or inconsistent stage into a dependable farm.
How to handle gold, skills and Seller offers
The community gold reference identifies three major uses: levelling monsters, upgrading player skills and buying Seller offers. Keep those uses in one budget instead of assuming every coin should go into your newest pull.
- Monster levels: fund the damage anchor first, then the support units whose effects directly improve that attacker.
- Player skills: reserve gold when a skill upgrade addresses the wave that is stopping you. A skill can be a better purchase than a small level increase if it changes the outcome of the problem wave.
- Seller offers: inspect the offer’s contents and price in the current client. Do not buy automatically while your core team is under-levelled.
Because upgrade costs vary by monster, there is no safe universal “level everything to the same number” rule. Open each unit’s upgrade panel, note the next meaningful cost and compare it with the amount needed to improve your main damage dealer or the support that keeps it effective. Threshold mechanics can also involve power stones, so consider the full material requirement rather than gold alone.

What “best mythic or legendary” should mean for a beginner
A beginner usually needs a monster that improves the next clear, not a unit that looks impressive in a collection screen. Before choosing between two high-rarity options, ask four questions:
- Can I deploy it now? A monster that requires materials or a later unlock cannot solve today’s wave.
- Can I afford its next upgrades? Check the actual gold and material requirements, not an assumed rarity-based price.
- Does it complement Speedy, Mighty or my current carry? Support and damage often produce more value together than two uncoordinated attackers.
- Can it farm reliably? Test it on the stage you repeat for coins and compare clear consistency, not one lucky run.
If the answer is “no” to several of these, keep the monster available but do not redirect your entire budget. Invest enough to test its role only when doing so will not stop the upgrades that currently fund your account.
When to farm evolution gems or other “orbs”
Community reference material treats monster evolution as a later-game system connected to challenge modes. It does not establish one universal beginner map, unlock level or reward quantity for every current build. That means campaign farming should remain your first priority while you are still assembling a dependable core.
Once the live client unlocks the relevant challenge content, read the mode’s reward panel and confirm which evolution material it pays. Record the cost of the evolution you are targeting, then choose the highest challenge you can clear consistently. Do not sacrifice campaign progress for a reward system you have not unlocked or cannot yet farm reliably.

Best Value
- Collect offline resources. The store listing describes offline resource generation; claim it and note which currency you actually received.
- Check the shop. Verify the current prices and wording for the 2x damage and 2x coins upgrades before spending gems.
- Inspect your core. Look at Speedy, Stacky, Mighty and your main damage dealer. Identify the cheapest upgrade that can affect the next blocked wave.
- Run the highest reliable campaign stage. Repeat it long enough to fund that upgrade rather than switching stages after one result.
- Retest the blocked wave. Change one variable—one level, placement or support unit—so you know what solved the problem.
- Save the remainder. Keep a gem reserve for the next permanent multiplier and keep enough gold for the upgrade or skill you are actively working toward.
Common early mistakes and fixes
Spending every gem on summons
Symptom: You own several rare monsters but cannot clear a stage reliably. Fix: Stop summoning, verify the shop’s permanent multipliers and concentrate gold on one damage anchor plus the supports that improve it.
Levelling the entire roster evenly
Symptom: Every monster is moderately levelled, but none can finish the final wave. Fix: Choose a carry and a compact support group; postpone units that do not solve the current map’s problem.
Farming a stage that fails too often
Symptom: A difficult map sometimes pays out but frequently loses a wave. Fix: Return to the highest stage that completes consistently and use those rewards to fund the next targeted upgrade.
Recommended Free Tools
Buying an attractive Seller offer automatically
Symptom: Your gold disappears without improving the blocked wave. Fix: Compare the offer with the exact cost of your next carry, support or skill upgrade before purchasing.
Treating a community level target as a requirement
Symptom: You delay progress because your account does not match a guide’s stated level breakpoint. Fix: Treat published levels as that guide’s route. Let your own clear rate and the live upgrade screen decide when to move on.
How current is the advice?
The official listing confirms that the game is still being updated, while the detailed early-game routes come from community pages. The Earlygame guide and the beginner Reddit guide are useful for identifying a practical starting formation, but neither is an official balance document. The community monster, gold and evolution pages are reference material rather than guarantees that every price, unlock or reward remains unchanged.
Before a major investment, check the monster’s current description, the upgrade panel, the map’s reward screen and the shop’s live prices. If those differ from a guide, trust the client you are playing and adjust the routine above.

For a new account, the safest resource plan is to buy the verified permanent 2x damage upgrade first and 2x coins second, then build a focused support-and-damage core. Start with Speedy, Stacky and Mighty as a community-tested King-map route, place Stacky between Speedy and Mighty as suggested, and move toward Ragefist Chieftain Normal and Joint Revenge Normal only when your clears are reliable. Farm gold on the highest stage you can repeat, delay evolution-material farming until its challenge system is available, and judge every mythic or legendary monster by role, real upgrade cost and the wave it helps you clear—not by rarity alone.
