Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →If Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League never gets past its splash screen, the fix depends on where loading stops. A console that crashes at startup usually needs a clean game reinstall. A Steam installation should be checked for damaged files, current Windows and graphics drivers, unsuitable settings, or software conflicts. A freeze that says “Signing into WB Services” may be a service-side defect rather than a problem with your hardware. Work through the platform-specific steps below before deleting saves or changing system files; neither is an official remedy for this symptom.
First identify the loading stage
Note your platform and the exact screen text before changing anything. “Loading” at launch, “Signing into WB Services,” and a loading screen after entering Metropolis point to different troubleshooting paths.

| What you see | Most relevant evidence | Best first action | Risk to progress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Game crashes or remains on the opening splash on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S | WB Games treats repeated console crashes as a possible installation problem. | Restart once, then delete or uninstall the game and reinstall it. | Removing the application does not instruct you to delete save data, but confirm your platform’s prompts before accepting them. |
| Steam startup hang, black screen, or crash | WB lists drivers, Windows/DirectX, damaged files, graphics settings, overclocks, RGB software, antivirus and background applications as possible contributors. | Update Windows and drivers, verify files, then reduce variables in the PC troubleshooting order. | Driver and setting changes are reversible; reinstalling is more time-consuming. |
| “Signing into WB Services” never completes | Rocksteady’s February 16, 2024 known-issues bulletin listed infinite loading or crashing at this screen as under investigation. | Check current service/support information and avoid assuming a local reinstall will fix an outage. | Local troubleshooting will not repair a server-side incident. |
| Loading Metropolis after collecting Ivy’s first Affliction, or a client loading after the host aborts a mission | February 21, 2024 patch notes recorded fixes for both situations. | Update the game on every player’s platform before testing again. | Updating preserves local settings and saves. |
Fix a stuck installation on PS5
Reinstall from Games Hub
WB Games’ console guidance says a crash can indicate a damaged or incomplete installation. On PS5, remove the game from the Games Hub and install it again:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Close the game completely. From the PS5 home screen, highlight Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and press the Options button.
- Choose Delete and confirm that you are removing the application, not saved data. If your console presents separate save-data options, leave those untouched.
- Reinstall the title from your Library or the disc. Let the full download and any update finish before launching.
- Start the game once the installation is complete. If it still crashes or loops at the splash screen, use WB Games’ bug tracker or submit a support request with the console model, edition, exact screen and any error code.
A reinstall replaces the game’s local program files; it does not establish that your account, network or WB services are healthy. If the failure is specifically the WB sign-in message, read the service section before repeating the download.

Fix a stuck installation on Xbox Series X|S
Uninstall and install again
- Quit the game from the Xbox guide so it is not suspended.
- Open My games & apps, select the game, press the Menu button, choose Manage game and add-ons, then select Uninstall all (or the equivalent uninstall command shown on your console).
- Install it again from your owned games, disc or the Microsoft Store. Keep the console online until the download and updates finish.
- Launch the game. Persistent startup crashes should be reported through WB Games’ bug tracker or support form, including whether the problem occurs in both online and offline play.
Do not choose a separate saved-data deletion option as a diagnostic shortcut. The official console procedure is to reinstall the game itself; it does not validate erasing progress.
Repair the PC version on Steam
Meet the published hardware and software floor
WB Games’ current requirements specify Windows 10 64-bit, DirectX 12, 16 GB of dual-channel memory and an SSD. The stated minimum target for 1080p at 60 frames per second pairs an Intel Core i7-9700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X with an NVIDIA RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT. These are requirements for the published target, not a guarantee that every configuration will load identically. Check your actual CPU, GPU, memory configuration and free SSD space before treating a splash-screen loop as purely a software fault.
Update Windows, DirectX and device drivers
- Open Settings > Windows Update and install all available updates, then restart Windows. WB notes that DirectX is delivered through Windows Update, so a separate DirectX download is not the official path for this problem.
- Install the latest stable driver for your graphics card from its manufacturer and update the sound driver as well. Restart after installation.
- Undo any CPU or GPU overclock, undervolt or custom memory profile temporarily. Return the system to stock settings before testing; instability can appear only when a demanding game begins shader compilation or streaming.
Verify Steam’s game files
- Exit the game.
- In Steam, open Library, right-click the game and choose Properties.
- Select Installed Files (called Local Files in some older Steam layouts), then click Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for Steam to finish replacing or reacquiring files, restart Steam, and launch the game again.
Verification is preferable to a full reinstall when only a few files are damaged. If verification repeatedly reports files or the game still will not pass the splash screen, WB’s guidance is to reinstall.

Reduce graphics and software variables
If the game reaches its menus intermittently, lower graphics options before the next launch. Use a conservative resolution, texture quality and effects preset, and disable features that create instability on your particular driver. If it never reaches a menu, you can first close overlays and background utilities, then test after a clean boot.
- Disable or exit keyboard and motherboard RGB-control software if it hooks into games. WB specifically calls out problematic keyboard RGB features.
- Add the game executable to your security software’s permitted or exception list only if you trust the installation and understand your security product’s interface. Re-enable protection if the test makes no difference.
- Close recording tools, hardware monitors, overlay applications, browsers with heavy extensions and other background programs.
- For a persistent conflict, perform a Windows clean boot, test the game, and then restore normal startup services so you do not leave essential software disabled.
Change one category at a time and record the previous value. That makes it possible to reverse a setting when it is not the cause.
When the screen says “Signing into WB Services”
This wording is significant. Rocksteady’s February 16, 2024 known-issues bulletin explicitly listed “Infinite loading or crashing at the ‘Signing into WB Services’ screen” as an issue under investigation. That notice means an endless sign-in can be caused by the online service or session rather than corrupted local files. A reinstall is therefore not a guaranteed cure.

- Confirm that the game is fully patched and that your platform itself reports no network or account outage.
- Close and relaunch once, then test again later if the message remains. If other online features or games are also failing, treat the incident as a connectivity or service problem rather than repeatedly reinstalling.
- Check Rocksteady/WB Games’ current status and support channels for a newer resolution. Include the exact sign-in text, platform, region, date, whether solo or co-op was selected, and any error code in a report.
The title supports solo play, online co-op requires an internet connection, and an offline mode was added with Season 4. Offline mode can help distinguish an online-session failure from a local launch failure where the current build and mode selection allow it; it cannot repair a damaged installation or make online co-op work without internet.
Loading screens fixed by game updates
Not every loading loop is still an unfixed defect. The February 21, 2024 patch notes state that the game fixed a “Loading Metropolis” screen after collecting the first Affliction from Ivy and fixed various cases in which clients became stuck on loading screens when the host aborted a mission. If your symptom matches either scenario, update the game on every participant’s platform, have the host start a fresh session, and retest before changing drivers or reinstalling. A player on an older build can continue to reproduce a problem that has already been patched.
Choose the least disruptive path
| Situation | Order of operations | Why this order |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 or Xbox startup splash | Restart once → reinstall the application → contact support if unchanged | Console guidance identifies installation failure as the likely local cause and provides no validated registry, launch-flag or save-deletion workaround. |
| Steam startup splash | Windows and audio/video drivers → Windows Update/DirectX → verify files → stock clocks → lower settings and close conflicts → reinstall | Early steps are reversible and can fix dependencies without downloading the entire game. |
| WB Services sign-in | Patch and service check → one relaunch → wait/check support status → local repair only if other evidence points to files | The dated known-issues bulletin shows that this symptom can be server-side. |
| In-session loading after Ivy or host abort | Update all clients → start a new session → report if reproducible | The named situations were addressed in the February 21, 2024 patch notes. |
What not to do
- Do not delete save data as a first-line fix; the canonical troubleshooting steps do not validate that action.
- Do not edit the Windows registry or add unofficial launch flags based on a video or forum post. Such changes can create new failures and are not part of WB Games’ documented procedure.
- Do not assume that a maintenance utility is endorsed by WB Games. If you use any third-party tool, verify its source, terms and compatibility yourself; it is not required by the official steps above.
- Do not keep changing several settings at once. You will lose the ability to identify whether a driver, overclock, RGB hook, antivirus rule or game file caused the change.
When to escalate to support
Escalate after the platform-appropriate reinstall or PC repair sequence fails, or immediately when the exact “Signing into WB Services” issue matches a current service incident. Give support enough detail to reproduce the fault:
Rank #4
- PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam or Epic; console model or PC specifications.
- Exact wording on screen, including whether the game crashes, freezes, returns to the dashboard or eventually times out.
- Game and platform update versions, date and approximate time, region, and whether solo, co-op or offline mode was selected.
- Steps already tried: reinstall, file verification, driver and Windows updates, stock clocks, reduced settings, RGB/overlay closure and clean-boot test.
- Any crash code, screenshot or reproducible mission sequence, especially Ivy’s first Affliction or a host-aborted mission.
That information lets WB Games distinguish an installation defect from a client configuration problem or a service/session issue without asking you to repeat unsafe steps.
The Bottom Line
Use the symptom and platform to choose the fix: reinstall the application on PS5 or Xbox, repair Windows/drivers and verify files on Steam, and treat “Signing into WB Services” as a potentially known service-side problem. Keep saves intact, install every patch, and escalate with exact reproduction details when the documented sequence does not work.
