If you’re trying to pair a phone with a Chromebook, there is no verified current Google announcement in the available sources saying a fix is rolling out for that problem. The Google statement most closely matching the headline was posted on August 26, 2022, about Android Auto—not Chromebook phone pairing. It should not be treated as news of a fix reaching your device today.
What Google actually said about a fix
On August 26, 2022, Aanchal, identified as an Android Auto Team Community Specialist, replied in a Google Android Auto Community thread about Android Auto stopping after an August 2022 software update. Aanchal wrote: “The team has investigated this issue, and a fix is rolling out now. It may take a few days for the fix to reach everyone, so please let us know if you are still seeing this issue in a week. Thanks!” Read the original Android Auto support thread.

That was a historical statement about an Android Auto issue. Its “few days” rollout estimate and request to follow up after a week described that 2022 incident; they do not establish a current rollout or timeline for Chromebook pairing.
Does the announcement concern Chromebook Phone Hub?
No. Google’s June 23, 2022 Chromebook post describes Phone Hub and other ways Android phones and Chromebooks work together, but it does not report a current pairing fault or say a Phone Hub fix is rolling out. Google’s Chromebook cross-device feature announcement is useful background, not confirmation of the headline’s claim.

- Intel Celeron N4120: 4 Cores & Threads, 1.1GHz Base Clock, Up to 2.6GHz Boost Clock, 4MB Cache, Intel UHD Graphics 600. The perfect combination of performance, power consumption, and value helps your device handle multitasking smoothly and reliably with four processing cores to divide up the work.
The term “Googlebook” in the headline is not identified by the available sources as a specific product, and they do not identify which phone-pairing method or current bug is at issue. Without that detail, there is no sound basis to claim that a particular fix applies to your device.
What to do if your phone still will not connect
First identify what you mean by pairing: Phone Hub links an Android phone with a Chromebook, while Android Auto connects a phone to a compatible car display. The 2022 Google fix statement concerns the latter, so it cannot diagnose or resolve a Chromebook connection problem. The available sources do not document a specific troubleshooting procedure for the current issue or establish a hardware cause.

Because the reported Google fix was software-related and tied to a different, dated Android Auto incident, these sources do not support buying a cable, adapter, repair tool, or replacement device as a remedy for Chromebook pairing.
