The new live-action Street Fighter film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16, 2026. Paramount Pictures lists it as an in-theater title, while Capcom and Legendary Entertainment are producing it.
No official source has announced a streaming service or post-theatrical OTT date. That means there is no confirmed Netflix, Paramount+, or other platform listing to use yet.

When does the new Street Fighter movie come out?
The confirmed release date is October 16, 2026. Capcom’s September 5, 2025 announcement gave that date while reporting that filming had begun with Legendary Entertainment. Paramount’s official film page also lists “Oct 16th, 2026” and labels the title “In Theatres.” The official Japanese movie site describes October 16 as a simultaneous worldwide release, so the announced first window is not limited to one country.

Those announcements establish a cinema launch, not a digital-premiere date. A local theater’s showtimes, advance tickets and age rating will be published closer to release and can vary by territory.

Will Street Fighter be on Netflix or Paramount+?
There is currently no confirmed OTT platform for the 2026 film. Capcom’s announcement, Paramount’s film page and the Japanese movie site do not provide a streaming service, rental store or post-theatrical date.
Paramount’s ownership of the theatrical-facing page should not be read as confirmation that the movie will stream on Paramount+. A distributor can announce a cinema release before deciding, or publicly disclosing, where later subscription, rental or purchase windows will appear. Until an official listing names a service and territory, claims that the movie is “on Netflix,” “on Paramount+” or available on another platform are unverified.

Story, setting and announced cast
A 1993 World Warrior Tournament
Paramount’s synopsis sets the story in 1993. Estranged fighters Ryu and Ken Masters are pulled back into combat when Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. The tournament is described as a brutal clash involving a wider conspiracy, forcing the pair to confront each other and their pasts.

Capcom’s announced ensemble also includes Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, Andrew Schulz, Eric André and Vidyut Jammwal. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Jason Momoa are also listed in the announcement. The studio has not described every supporting character or disclosed the full plot beyond the official synopsis.
Who is producing and distributing the film?
Capcom and Legendary Entertainment are the production partners identified in the release announcement. Paramount Pictures is the theatrical-facing distributor and the company operating the official film page. This combination explains why the currently confirmed information concerns cinema distribution rather than streaming: the public announcement establishes the first release window only.
Why this adaptation matters to the game franchise
Capcom said the project supports its “Single Content Multiple Usage” strategy, which extends the Street Fighter intellectual property beyond the games. In a March 6, 2026 release, Capcom reported that the series had surpassed 58 million cumulative copies sold worldwide as of December 2025. That figure covers the franchise through that date; it is not a sales forecast for the film or a guarantee of a particular audience size.

A later streaming announcement should be checked against the specific film and territory rather than a social-media claim or an old catalog page. Verify:

- Whether access is included with a subscription or requires digital rental or purchase.
- The earliest viewing date after the theatrical run.
- Available resolution, HDR and audio formats, plus subtitle and dub options.
Release windows can differ by country, so a service announced for one market may not carry the film in another. Until those details are published by an official studio, distributor or platform listing, the only confirmed viewing route is a theater from October 16, 2026.
