The launch-era Deluxe Edition added the four Year 1 characters, their Outfit 1 color sets, and 4,200 Drive Tickets. Launch-era Ultimate added that pass plus extra costumes, stages, and 7,700 Drive Tickets. Those prices and bundles were specific to the December 2022 announcement; current stores now show newer bundles and separately sold Year 1–4 passes, so check the live listing for your platform and region before paying.
Launch-era differences at a glance
The clearest original comparison comes from the PlayStation Blog announcement published December 8, 2022. The figures below describe what was announced for the June 2, 2023 launch in the United States, not what every store sells today.

| Edition (launch-era) | Included | US launch price announced in 2022 | Who it suited |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | Base game; Fighting Ground; World Tour; Battle Hub; 18-character launch roster | USD $59.99 | Players who wanted the complete launch game without Year 1 downloadable content |
| Deluxe | Everything in Standard, plus the Year 1 Character Pass: four post-launch characters, Outfit 1 colors 3–10 for each, and 4,200 Drive Tickets | USD $84.99 | Players who knew they wanted the four Year 1 fighters and their color options |
| Ultimate | Everything in Deluxe, plus the Year 1 Ultimate Pass additions: two extra costumes and alternate colors for the four Year 1 characters, two additional stages, and 7,700 Drive Tickets | USD $104.99 | Players who also wanted the Year 1 cosmetic, stage, and in-game-currency extras |
“Launch-era” is important here. The prices were one-time US launch prices, and the original edition names do not guarantee current availability, discounts, or contents on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, or another territory’s store.
What every edition contains
Fighting Ground
Fighting Ground is the traditional match-focused part of the game: the place to practice and fight using the core combat systems. Buying Deluxe or Ultimate does not unlock a different fundamental fighting engine; those editions add post-launch content to the same base game.
#1 Best Overall
- Includes 26 fighters and 20 dynamic stages from Years 1 & 2 content.
- Unlock Outfit 1 Colors 3–10 and access full base game content.
- Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive modes: Gyro Battle, Calorie Contest & more.
- Play using any control style—Classic, Modern, or Dynamic on Joy-Con.
- Supports local wireless, online multiplayer, and Tabletop Mode for portable play.
World Tour
World Tour is the single-player story mode. You create and develop an avatar, explore its campaign, and learn from Street Fighter characters. It is part of Standard, so you do not need a character pass to access the campaign.
Battle Hub
Battle Hub is the online social space for meeting other players and starting matches. The official store descriptions present it alongside World Tour and Fighting Ground as one of the three core modes included with the base game.
The launch roster
The launch announcement specified an 18-character roster for Standard. That number describes the roster at release; later downloadable characters are separate content and should not be counted as part of the original launch lineup.

Deluxe was not a different game client or a higher-performance version. It bundled the base game with the Year 1 Character Pass. That pass supplied four post-launch playable characters, Outfit 1 colors 3–10 for each of those characters, and 4,200 Drive Tickets.
The practical decision is therefore simple: if one or more of the four Year 1 fighters mattered to you, Deluxe provided the pass in a single launch bundle. If you were interested only in the 18 launch characters and the three core modes, Standard already supplied the content needed to play.
Exactly what Ultimate added at launch
Launch-era Ultimate included the same Year 1 Character Pass content as Deluxe, then added the Year 1 Ultimate Pass extras. For each of the four Year 1 characters, that package included two additional costumes and their alternate colors. It also included two additional stages and 7,700 Drive Tickets.
Do not read the larger Drive Ticket allowance as a discount on every later purchase. Drive Tickets are an in-game currency allocation attached to that launch bundle; the amount does not establish the current value or availability of a present-day Ultimate product.

Street Fighter 6 has continued receiving character passes and bundles. At the time covered by the current listings, the Steam page presents the base game, a Years 1–2 Fighters Edition bundle, and separate Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, and Year 4 Character Passes and Ultimate Passes. The PlayStation Store listing likewise shows Standard Edition, Years 1–2 Fighters Edition, and individual passes.

A store can change bundle names, package contents, and promotions without changing the launch-era record. The PlayStation page consulted for this comparison was the Australian storefront, so its displayed prices must not be generalized to the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, or any other region. Open your own platform’s listing, expand the “included” or “contents” section, and verify the territory-specific price at checkout.
Character Pass versus Ultimate Pass
For the later downloadable products, Capcom’s June 29, 2026 announcement gives a useful distinction:
“Each Character Pass includes 4 additional characters, plus Outfit 1 Colors 3-10 and Drive Tickets.”

See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.“Each Ultimate Pass includes all Character Pass content, plus Outfit 2 & 3 costumes and additional Drive Tickets.”
Those statements describe the pass products, not necessarily an edition that includes the base game. Capcom also states that a separate purchase of the base game is required to use the passes. Year 1 and Year 2 passes additionally include stages, according to the same announcement at Capcom Town Store.
| Product type | Core additions | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Character Pass | Four additional characters, Outfit 1 colors 3–10, and Drive Tickets | Buy the base game separately if the listing does not bundle it |
| Ultimate Pass | All Character Pass content, plus Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 costumes and additional Drive Tickets | It is downloadable content; do not confuse it with the original launch Ultimate Edition |
| Years 1–2 Fighters Edition | Base game, Year 1 Character Pass, Year 2 Character Pass, and Years 1–2 Fighters Edition Stages & Colors | Confirm the exact included items on your platform’s live listing |
The original Ultimate Edition was a launch bundle containing the base game and Year 1 Ultimate Pass. A later “Ultimate Pass” is a DLC product. The similar wording describes related content but not the same package.
How to choose an edition today
Choose Standard when the base game is enough
- You want Fighting Ground, World Tour, Battle Hub, and the 18-character launch roster.
- You are undecided about downloadable characters and would rather add a pass later.
- The current Standard listing is substantially cheaper than a bundle whose extras you will not use.
Standard does not prevent a later upgrade. Check whether your platform sells the desired Character Pass or Ultimate Pass separately and add only the years or cosmetics you actually want.
Choose a bundle with Year 1 content when those fighters are the priority
- You already know that one or more Year 1 characters are essential to your roster.
- You want their Outfit 1 color options and the pass’s Drive Tickets.
- The live bundle costs less than buying the base game and the same pass separately in your region.
Use the included-content list rather than the word “Deluxe” alone. A current bundle using a similar label may cover more than the original Year 1 package.

- Classic Experience Built for a Modern Era: With all core gameplay modes present, plus two brand new modes and enhanced visuals, Street Fighter 6 redefines the classic fighting game genre.
- Distinct Fighting Styles to Master: 18 diverse characters including legendary World Warriors and exciting brand new characters add their own flair to the game at launch, with more to be added post-launch.
- Brand New Game Modes: The Street Fighter franchise continues to hone its skills and redefine the fighting genre with the introduction of three new foundational modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub.
- In-Game Commentating: Street Fighter’s first-ever Real-Time Commentary Feature, supported with subtitles in 13 languages, incorporates the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators like Vicious and Aru directly into the game to narrate what is happening on-screen just like a real tournament.
- Two New Control Schemes: Classic Controls returns alongside two brand new options: Modern Controls allow you to perform special attacks with simple button combinations and are designed for players who want to fight without memorizing and practicing special move button combinations first. Dynamic Controls only require a press of the Auto-Attack button to perform attacks and is a great control type to use when you have friends and family over for a quick, casual game.
Choose an Ultimate-level package only for the extras you will use
- You want the pass characters and the additional Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 costumes.
- The included stages matter to your play, collection, or local multiplayer setup.
- The extra Drive Tickets have value to you and the price premium is justified after checking current regional pricing.
There is no universally best edition. Ultimate is not a gameplay requirement, and a higher tier does not make the base fighting systems more capable.

- Identify the platform and region. Open the store account you will actually use. Prices, taxes, currencies, editions, and promotions are territory-specific.
- Check whether the listing includes the base game. A Character Pass or Ultimate Pass may be DLC only. Capcom says a separate base-game purchase is required when it is not bundled.
- List the characters you want. Match each desired fighter to the Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, or Year 4 pass named on the listing instead of assuming a single “Deluxe” label includes all years.
- Inspect non-character content. Confirm the exact outfits, color ranges, stages, and Drive Ticket amount. Year 1 and Year 2 pass descriptions can include stages, while later products may differ.
- Compare totals and format. Add the live prices for the base game and individual passes, then compare that total with the current bundle. For a physical copy, verify which code-based DLC is included and whether the code matches your account region; for a digital copy, verify the platform account that receives the license.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Treating 2022 prices as current
The USD $59.99, $84.99, and $104.99 figures belong to the December 2022 US launch announcement. They are useful for understanding the original price ladder, not for budgeting a purchase now. Use the live platform page for the current amount.
Assuming every “Ultimate” is the same
The original Ultimate Edition bundled the base game with Year 1 Ultimate Pass content. The later Ultimate Pass is a standalone DLC product that follows the broader pass formula of character content, additional costumes, and Drive Tickets. Read the package description before buying.
Counting pass characters as part of Standard
Standard’s 18-character figure is the launch roster. Characters released through later passes are additions and require the relevant pass, bundle, or individual purchase.
Ignoring online requirements
The official Steam listing notes that some elements require an internet connection and a Capcom ID. Review the platform’s requirements before buying, particularly if you expect to use Battle Hub or other connected features. The listing is available at Steam.
Assuming sales figures identify the best edition
Capcom announced that Street Fighter 6 surpassed 5 million units sold worldwide in 2025, as reported in its June 11, 2025 release. That is a total game-sales milestone, not an edition-by-edition breakdown, so it cannot tell you whether Standard, Deluxe, or Ultimate is the right purchase.
What to verify before you click Buy
- The exact edition name shown by your platform, including whether it says Standard, Years 1–2 Fighters Edition, or another current bundle.
- The included pass years and whether each is a Character Pass or Ultimate Pass.
- Whether the desired character, costume, color, stage, and Drive Ticket items are explicitly listed.
- Whether the product is the base game, downloadable content, or a bundle containing both.
- The final price, currency, taxes, discount end date, and account region.
- Any internet connection or Capcom ID requirement for connected features.
Store contents and promotions can change. Recheck the listing immediately before purchase rather than relying on an old screenshot, review, or launch price table.
Bottom line
For the original launch lineup, Standard covered the complete core game, Deluxe was the character-focused upgrade, and Ultimate was the expanded Year 1 package for players who also wanted extra costumes, stages, and Drive Tickets. For a purchase now, ignore the label in isolation: start with the characters you want, verify the exact pass and extras included, compare the live bundle with separate purchases in your region, and confirm that the base game is present.
