If your Streamlabs Talk Studio YouTube stream has audio out of sync, first check the selected microphone and output device and browser permissions. Then make a short recording or private test and compare it with YouTube playback: if the recording is already out of sync, focus on capture and devices; if it is aligned but the YouTube version is not, investigate live delivery and playback. This is a diagnostic approach, not a published Talk Studio sync-fix procedure.
First identify what is out of sync
Note whether speech is ahead of or behind the picture, whether the gap stays constant or grows over time, and whether the problem affects every speaker or just one guest or source. Check both a Talk Studio recording and the YouTube stream or its replay. Those comparisons help narrow down where to investigate; Streamlabs does not publish this as a formal decision tree.

- Recording and YouTube playback are both out of sync: investigate the selected devices and capture path first.
- The recording is aligned, but YouTube playback is not: investigate the live delivery and playback path separately.
- Audio and video remain together but reach viewers late: that is stream latency, not necessarily an audio/video sync fault.
- The gap grows over time: record that detail for support; the reviewed Talk Studio guidance does not document a specific fix for progressive drift.
Streamlabs’ Talk Studio Getting Started guide covers device selection, testing, and recording. YouTube describes latency as the delay between capture and what viewers see, so reducing latency is not the same as correcting a mismatch between speech and picture (YouTube live-stream latency).
Check Talk Studio audio devices and permissions
- Allow browser access. Confirm that the browser has permission to use the microphone and the intended audio devices.
- Open the audio controls. In Talk Studio, use the arrow beside the Mute control to select the intended audio input and output. Do not assume the operating system’s default device is the one Talk Studio is using.
- Re-select and test. Choose the intended microphone and output device again, then use Talk Studio’s available test function. Confirm that the right mic is active and that you can hear the intended output.
- Repeat a brief recording or private test. Use the same spoken phrase or clap cue to compare audio and picture before changing other settings.
Changing devices is a useful first check, but the available Talk Studio guidance does not document a manual audio sync-offset control. Do not apply instructions for Streamlabs Desktop settings as if they were Talk Studio controls.

Use a recording to isolate capture from delivery
Talk Studio supports cloud recording and local recordings with separate tracks for participants. Make a short test and compare the same moment in the recording and YouTube playback. If a local file is out of sync too, focus on the capture and device path; if it is aligned but YouTube playback is not, look at delivery and playback as a separate issue. This distinction is an inference from the available recording and latency guidance, not a Streamlabs-published sync remedy.
If you are recording locally, avoid changing audio or video settings during the test: Streamlabs says a settings change ends the current recording and starts another. Make a note of the time and settings so you compare the right segments.

Check connection quality and computer load
Talk Studio’s network indicators can show connection instability or CPU strain. Enable them in Menu > Settings > Participants. Streamlabs says four bars or fewer indicate an unstable connection; a no-connection indicator means the connection was lost, while a CPU icon indicates that the browser or computer is struggling with the stream. These indicators can reveal conditions that coincide with interruptions, but do not by themselves prove what caused an audio/video mismatch.

- If the connection looks unstable, simplify the setup and repeat the test when the connection is steadier.
- If the CPU indicator appears, close unused browser windows and other software, then repeat the test.
- Note whether a freeze, drop, or warning appears at the same time as the sync problem.
Streamlabs’ 2023 Getting Started guide recommends at least 5 Mbps upload as a minimum connection for Talk Studio. It gives 5 Mbps required and 10 Mbps recommended for 720p, and 10 Mbps required and 20 Mbps recommended for 1080p. These are the guide’s recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular connection will prevent sync issues. See the Talk Studio setup guidance.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
Distinguish stream latency from audio/video sync
Latency means viewers see the stream after a delay; it does not necessarily mean the sound and picture are misaligned. If both arrive late but stay synchronized, investigate latency and network conditions. If lips and speech do not match, continue treating it as an audio/video sync issue. YouTube’s live-stream latency guidance addresses capture-to-display delay and network congestion; it does not provide a Talk Studio-specific audio offset procedure.
