What Stranded: Alien Dawn is
Haemimont Games developed the game and Paradox Interactive published it. You manage a small group marooned on a hostile planet. Steam lists it as single-player and tags it under simulation and strategy, so this is a colony-management game, not a first-person survival shooter.

Why the review numbers differ
The headline figure and the score you see on Steam today come from different snapshots and different denominators. Both are positive, but they answer different questions.

The 83% figure is a historical reading and is not the score displayed on Steam on October 9. Steam says it excludes review activity it considers off-topic from its score. The overall figure reflects a long span of reviews, while the recent figure reflects only the latest 65 reviews, so it can swing much more with a few reviews. Read the overall score for lifetime sentiment and the recent score for how the game is currently being received.
The 50% discount has ended
Notebookcheck reported a US-dollar sale price of $17.49 against a stated list price of $34.99, a 50% reduction. The offer ended October 8, 2026. Prices vary by region, so that US-dollar figure is not what a player in another country would have seen.

SteamDB’s price history shows a separate, region-specific low. Its lowest recorded Swiss-franc price, CHF 13.64 at 65% off, was on December 19, 2024. That is a past price in one currency, not a current offer, and it does not tell you what the game costs today.

- Read the purchase box for the price in your account’s regional currency. If a discount is shown, note the end date the store displays.
- Open SteamDB’s price history for the game and compare the current price with past lows in the same currency.
- If no discount is shown, treat the full price as the current offer and decide on that basis.

Is it worth buying?
- Fits if you enjoy juggling food, shelter, technology, health, and threats at once, and you are happy managing individual survivors with distinct skills.
- May not fit if you want a first-person survival experience, since this is a colony-management game.
- Hardware check: a PC near the minimum tier should be able to run it, but the recommended tier is the safer target for a smooth experience.
- Price check: the headline sale is over, so compare the current regional price against the past low before you buy.
