StoneX’s Mark Palmer: $435 MSTR Price Target and What’s Known About DAT Consolidation

The $435 MSTR price target is an analyst opinion, not a promised share price. It has two distinct reported milestones: Benchmark lowered its target from $570 to $435 on July 31, 2026, while StoneX reiterated a Buy rating and the $435 target on September 28. The available reporting offers some context on Strategy’s preferred-stock financing, but it does not disclose Palmer’s full valuation model or establish a detailed digital-asset-treasury (DAT) consolidation forecast.

What the $435 MSTR target means—and when it was reported

A price target is an analyst’s estimate, not a guarantee that a stock will reach that price. The two reports associated with $435 concern separate dates and firm references:

Date Firm and reported action What the report establishes
July 31, 2026 Benchmark, analyst Mark Palmer Investing.com reported that Benchmark cut its Strategy target from $570 to $435 while maintaining a Buy rating. Read the July 31 report.
September 28, 2026 StoneX Investing.com reported that StoneX reiterated a Buy rating and a $435 target for Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR). Read the September 28 report.

These are not one target change announced jointly by Benchmark and StoneX. The July article reports a Benchmark reduction attributed to Palmer; the September article reports StoneX’s later reiteration. Neither report, as available here, supplies the complete analyst note or the assumptions behind the valuation.

What the target does—and does not—tell investors

The $435 figure identifies the level StoneX reportedly reiterated in September, but it does not explain how the analyst arrived there. The underlying StoneX and Benchmark research notes, including Palmer’s full valuation model, are not available in the cited material. There is therefore no substantiated basis here to assign the target a particular Bitcoin-price assumption, valuation multiple, time horizon, or probability of being reached.

Bitkey Bitcoin Hardware Wallet, No Screen - Self-Custody, No Seed Phrase
  • BITCOIN EXCLUSIVE, PHONE VERIFICATION: Bitkey is designed from the ground up exclusively for bitcoin — a dedicated hardware wallet for secure bitcoin storage. Approve transactions with a tap using your phone and NFC. No device screen is required.
  • SELF-CUSTODY, NO EXCHANGE OR CUSTODIAN REQUIRED: You hold two of the three keys in the Bitkey system – one on your phone and one on your Bitkey device. The third is stored on Bitkey’s server and cannot move your bitcoin on its own.
  • NO SEED PHRASE: Set up and use Bitkey without creating or storing a seed phrase.
  • 2-of-3 MULTISIG: Three keys are stored separately across your phone, Bitkey device, and Bitkey’s server. Any two keys are required to move your bitcoin.
  • BUILT-IN RECOVERY: Encrypted backup and recovery tools can help you regain access if you lose your phone or Bitkey device. You can also designate a Recovery Contact.

The July 31 coverage also reported an $8.32 billion unrealized fair-value loss on Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings for fiscal Q2 2026. That is a reported company financial measure from the period, not a statement of the stock’s future direction or an explanation of the $435 target. Investing.com’s July report does not, by itself, reveal how that figure was incorporated into Palmer’s analysis.

What the reports say about STRC and Strategy’s financing

STRC, also referred to as Stretch in the October video description, is one of Strategy’s preferred securities. The available reporting situates it within a broader financing mix that also includes other perpetual preferred securities, convertible notes and common equity. The material does not provide enough detail to compare their costs or risks quantitatively.

Reported proposal for four perpetual preferreds

On September 28, Investing.com said StoneX discussed a proposal to move the dividend accrual for four U.S.-listed perpetual preferred securities—STRC, STRF, STRK and STRD—to a daily basis. The article reported StoneX’s expectation that shareholders would approve the proposal. That is an expectation reported at the time, not evidence that shareholders approved it. See the StoneX report.

Buybacks, Bitcoin purchases and reserve figures

A Bitcoin Magazine video listing dated October 6, 2026, describes Palmer discussing Strategy spending six times more on Stretch buybacks than on Bitcoin purchases, citing $176 million in buybacks versus $29 million in Bitcoin purchases. Its description also gives a $4.9 billion USD reserve figure and refers to the preferred stock’s role in fundraising and why Strategy would not simply raise the dividend rate. These figures and points come from the listing’s indexed description, not a reviewed full transcript or an independently checked company filing; the reserve should not be treated as a current balance. The listing’s chapter labels also indicate discussion of preferreds versus convertible notes, reserve cash and convert paydowns, and institutional investors. They do not supply enough detail to establish comparative financing costs or a complete account of Strategy’s capital-allocation policy.

What is known about the DAT consolidation outlook

The October 6 video listing’s chapter list signals that Palmer addressed a reason for the $435 target and a broader question about digital-asset treasuries. But a chapter list is not a transcript, and the available text does not establish a detailed prediction that Strategy will consolidate with other DATs, how such consolidation might happen, or what it would mean for MSTR shareholders. No specific consolidation outcome should be inferred from the $435 target alone.

How to read the target alongside analyst consensus

Investing.com’s analyst-ratings page, accessed October 7, 2026, listed StoneX at Buy with a $435 target dated September 28. The same page showed an average target of $236.80 from 15 analysts and a range of $160–$435. These are time-sensitive page values, not fixed or forward-looking guarantees. Check the analyst-ratings page.

The snapshot shows that StoneX’s reported figure was at the top of the displayed range at that access date. It does not demonstrate that StoneX’s view was more likely to prove correct. Analyst targets can differ because their assumptions and dates differ, and the cited material does not provide enough information to compare Palmer’s model with those of the other analysts.

What a reader can reasonably conclude

  • The $435 figure was reported first as Benchmark’s reduced target on July 31, then as StoneX’s reiterated target on September 28; the events should not be conflated.
  • The reports provide limited context about Strategy’s preferred-security financing, including a proposed daily dividend-accrual change for four securities. The cited report does not establish that the proposal passed.
  • The available materials do not reveal Palmer’s full valuation assumptions or a detailed DAT consolidation thesis. Treat the target as an attributed analyst opinion, not an independently verified fair value or certainty about future performance.
