Indian equities are likely to open with company-specific catalysts in focus on 15 October 2026. Reliance Industries’ proposed Jio Platforms IPO, the government’s IDBI Bank stake sale, a USFDA inspection outcome at Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, new infrastructure orders and fresh quarterly results are the key developments for investors to track.

Why these stocks are in focus today

Angel One said Indian markets would be driven by quarterly earnings, new project contracts, regulatory developments and major corporate transactions during the 15 October session. Ventura Securities separately identified Reliance Industries, IDBI Bank, Hyundai Motor India, ICICI Lombard, HDB Financial Services, Tata Technologies and Laurus Labs among the day’s stocks to watch. The developments below have different implications: an IPO and a stake sale involve completion and pricing risk, a regulatory inspection can affect product approvals, orders depend on execution, and quarterly results need to be read beyond headline profit growth.

Reliance Industries: Jio Platforms IPO terms are the main trigger

Jio Platforms is reported to be planning a ₹30,187.6 crore initial public offering between 21 and 23 October 2026. The reported price band is ₹1,065–₹1,119 a share, with the anchor-investor book scheduled for 19 October. The issue is expected to include 27 crore fresh shares.

Reported reservations include up to ₹500 crore for employees and ₹2,500 crore for eligible Reliance Industries shareholders. These are reported terms rather than final commitments; investors should verify the final offer documents for the confirmed structure, dates, allocation rules and any revisions. For Reliance shareholders, the practical question is how the reservation works in the final prospectus, while the wider market will watch demand indications and the eventual valuation assigned to Jio Platforms.

IDBI Bank: strategic sale moves to the next stage

Canada Inc, backed by Fairfax Financial Holdings, has been approved as the strategic buyer for IDBI Bank. The reported transaction values the combined 60.72% stake held by the government and Life Insurance Corporation of India at ₹52,878 crore, implying a price of ₹81 per share.

The government is expected to sell 30.48% and LIC 30.24%. The approval is a significant transaction milestone, but completion still depends on the required process, documentation and closing conditions. The stock may therefore respond both to the stated price and to the market’s assessment of execution risk and the eventual change in control.

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories: three USFDA observations at FTO-9

The US Food and Drug Administration completed a pre-approval inspection of Dr Reddy’s FTO-9 facility in Visakhapatnam on 8 and 9 October 2026. The agency issued a Form 483 containing three observations.

A Form 483 records inspection observations; it is not, by itself, a final compliance determination. Investors will focus on the company’s written response, the seriousness and remediation of the observations, and any subsequent action affecting approvals or manufacturing operations. Until those steps are known, the inspection is a regulatory uncertainty rather than a quantified earnings event.

New project awards and letters of intent

Enviro Infra Engineers

Suyog Urja, a subsidiary of Enviro Infra Engineers, received a ₹228 crore letter of intent for turnkey engineering, procurement and construction work on the 100 MW Ajani Wind Power Project in Latur. The award is an initial contractual milestone. Revenue recognition, margins and cash generation will depend on final documentation, project execution, commissioning and payment schedules.

Om Power Transmission

Om Power Transmission secured a ₹101.56 crore turnkey contract from Uttar Gujarat Vij Company for underground electrical cabling and related work in Ambaji. As with other EPC contracts, order-book addition does not immediately equal profit; delivery timelines, input costs, working-capital needs and client acceptance will determine the financial contribution.

Quarterly results to read beyond the headline profit

ICICI Lombard General Insurance

ICICI Lombard reported second-quarter profit of ₹946.4 crore, up 15.47% year over year. Net premium earned increased 17.7% to ₹6,651.87 crore, while total income rose 19.2% to ₹7,843.7 crore. The company declared an interim dividend of ₹7.

The quality indicator requiring attention is underwriting: the loss widened to ₹318.38 crore from ₹178.36 crore in the comparable period, when it was ₹178.36 crore. Premium and income growth therefore need to be considered alongside underwriting performance, which shows whether growth is translating into technical profitability before investment results.

HDB Financial Services

HDB Financial reported quarterly profit of ₹780.2 crore, an increase of 34.2% year over year. Net interest income rose 15.6% to ₹2,533.7 crore. The market will assess whether earnings growth is supported by sustainable lending spreads, credit costs and asset quality as further disclosures become available.

Bajaj Consumer Care

Bajaj Consumer Care posted profit of ₹70.2 crore, up 65.9% year over year, while revenue increased 25.5% to ₹332.8 crore. The results point to strong reported growth, but investors will still need to track volume, pricing, margins and the durability of demand in subsequent quarters.

How the catalysts differ

Company or group Catalyst What matters next Nature of development
Reliance Industries / Jio Platforms Proposed IPO Final offer documents, demand, allocation and listing execution Corporate action; terms can change
IDBI Bank Strategic stake sale approval Regulatory and transaction closing steps One-off transaction with completion risk
Dr Reddy’s Laboratories USFDA pre-approval inspection Response to three observations and later regulatory decisions Regulatory event; outcome not yet established
Enviro Infra Engineers ₹228 crore subsidiary LoI Contract conversion, execution and collections Order-book addition; execution dependent
Om Power Transmission ₹101.56 crore turnkey contract Delivery, costs and client acceptance Order win; project revenue is not immediate
ICICI Lombard Second-quarter results Underwriting loss alongside premium growth Recurring operating performance
HDB Financial Second-quarter results Net interest income, credit costs and asset quality Recurring operating performance
Bajaj Consumer Care Second-quarter results Demand, margins and repeatability of growth Recurring operating performance

What investors should verify during the session

  • For Jio Platforms, use the final IPO documents rather than preliminary reported terms when assessing eligibility, pricing or application decisions.
  • For IDBI Bank, distinguish approval of the buyer from completed transfer of shares and management control.
  • For Dr Reddy’s, wait for the company’s response and subsequent USFDA action before treating the Form 483 as a final outcome.
  • For the EPC companies, look for signed agreements, order-book disclosure, execution milestones and working-capital commentary.
  • For the three result announcements, compare profit growth with the operating metrics that produce it, especially ICICI Lombard’s underwriting result.

These developments are market news, not individualized investment advice. Prices can move independently of the reported catalyst as liquidity, broader indices and later disclosures change.
