For the October 7, 2026 market session, the watchlist centers on company updates from Titan, Mphasis and JSW Cement, alongside the Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee decision. Banks, insurers, real estate, automobiles and leveraged non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) are also in focus because of their sensitivity to interest rates. This is a news watchlist, not a ranking or a buy recommendation.

Emkay’s view, quoted by The Financial Express, is a forecast rather than the RBI’s decision: “We expect the RBI to kick off the rate hike cycle with a cautious 25bp increase, while retaining a neutral stance and signaling a higher-for-longer rate environment; a 50bp hike remains an outside risk as tighter global financial conditions increasingly shape the RBI’s reaction function.” Emkay also points to inflation concerns, with its second-half FY27 forecasts running about 20 basis points above RBI projections.
On liquidity, Emkay says FCNR-led excess liquidity is keeping monetary conditions accommodative despite sterilization measures. It expects the October policy to provide more clarity on the RBI’s sterilization strategy and says a further open market operation (OMO) sales announcement is possible. These are brokerage views reported by a secondary news source; they do not establish what the RBI decided. Nor does the sector list imply that every company in a group will respond in the same way to a rate move.

The report quoted Vinod Nair of Geojit Investments: “Crude oil prices slipped below the $100 mark after a large G7 stockpile release and alternative supply measures helped offset disruptions to vessel movements through the Strait of Hormuz.” Nair said that development, together with strong Q2 updates from financials and retail, “improved investors’ sentiment and supported a rebound from the oversold levels.”
