1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsKeep Stencil Parts if you plan to use weapon stencils. The current community item entry classifies them as an Epic basic material and says they cannot be recycled or salvaged, so scrapping them produces no components. Each stencil application consumes parts for one weapon. If your stash is full and cosmetics are not a priority, Stencil Parts are a reasonable item to leave behind or sell only after you have checked their current vendor value, but there is no evidence-based universal amount every player should keep.
Other materials require a different test. Reserve anything needed by an active quest, project, station upgrade or weapon recipe; then compare its recycling return, vendor value, scarcity and stash cost. Rarity or the generic “crafting material” label is not enough to decide.

The short answer: keep Stencil Parts for cosmetic use, not for recycling
Stencil Parts have one clearly reported purpose: applying weapon stencils. The ARC Raiders Wiki entry, last edited 8 October 2026, describes them as an Epic Basic Material used for weapon stencils. It also states that they cannot be recycled or salvaged. In practical terms, putting them through a recycling or salvage action will not turn them into components.
That makes Stencil Parts different from a normal progression material. Their value is the future cosmetic applications they enable, not a guaranteed component return. Keep them when you expect to earn or use stencils. If you never use weapon cosmetics and need every stash slot for progression items, their low reported value of 1 and lack of a recycle return make them a lower priority than materials tied to active upgrades. The available references do not establish a safe “keep 50” or “keep 100” threshold.

What Stencil Parts are and where they come from
The current item entry reports the following properties:
| Property | Reported value | How to use that information |
|---|---|---|
| Rarity and category | Epic Basic Material | Do not assume the Epic label means a high recycling yield; the same entry says recycling and salvage are unavailable. |
| Purpose | Applying weapon stencils | They are consumed when a stencil is applied to a compatible weapon. |
| Stack size | 500 | A single stack can hold a large number of future applications, reducing the need to retain several partial stacks. |
| Weight | 0.1 | Use the in-game inventory display to judge the current stash impact; the cited entry reports this item value, but balance changes can alter it. |
| Value | 1 | This is the value reported by the item page, not a promise that every region, vendor or future patch will pay the same amount. |
| Recipes | No crafting recipe listed | There is no reported ordinary craft that consumes the parts other than stencil application. |
| Recycling and salvage | Cannot be recycled or salvaged | Do not store them as a source of components. |
| Reported loot categories | Commercial, Residential and Industrial | These are search categories, not a map-specific drop location or a guaranteed drop rate. |
| Added | Patch 2.0, Frozen Trail | The item may be affected by later balance or content updates. |
The listed Commercial, Residential and Industrial categories indicate the types of loot areas in which players may find the item. They do not establish an exact map, chest type or probability. No cited source provides a verified drop rate, so planning a farming route around a supposed percentage would be speculation.
How stencil applications work
A guide updated 8 October 2026 describes a three-part loop: obtain a stencil, learn it outside a raid, then apply it from the inventory interface to a compatible weapon. The parts are consumed by the application, and the cost is attached to that individual weapon.
- Find or earn a stencil. A stencil can come from the game’s reported sources, including Topside content or paid content described by the guide. Check the current item tooltip for ownership and compatibility details.
- Learn the stencil out of raid. The guide’s loop requires learning the stencil before application. Do this between raids so the cosmetic is available in the inventory interface.
- Open the inventory and select a compatible weapon. Compatibility is weapon-specific. A stencil that works on one weapon model is not automatically usable on another.
- Select the stencil and confirm the application. The interface should show the required Stencil Parts before confirmation. Verify the weapon and cost because the parts are consumed on confirmation.
- Repeat for another copy. Applying the same stencil to a second copy of a weapon requires another application and another parts cost. The first application does not create a free, account-wide coating for every copy.
The guide states that common and uncommon stencils cost 2 Stencil Parts, rare stencils cost 4, epic stencils cost 7 and legendary stencils cost 15. Treat those as reported examples and tooltip-based guidance rather than a guarantee that every stencil follows the same schedule.
| Stencil rarity | Reported parts cost per weapon | Example or qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 2 | Reported by the guide; verify the current tooltip. |
| Uncommon | 2 | Reported by the guide; verify the current tooltip. |
| Rare | 4 | Reported by the guide. |
| Epic | 7 | Fortuna is cited as a 7-part example. |
| Legendary | 15 | Serac is cited as a 15-part example. |
| Unclassified example | 2 | Verdigris’s rarity is inferred from its cost in the guide, not confirmed separately. |
These numbers explain why a player who collects cosmetics may want a reserve even though Stencil Parts have no recycle value. Seven parts cover one reported epic application; fifteen cover one reported legendary application. A player who repeatedly applies a stencil to multiple weapon copies can use a stack faster than a player who applies each cosmetic once.
How many Stencil Parts should you keep?
No current source establishes a universal target. The right amount depends on how often you apply cosmetics, how many compatible weapons you keep and how easily you can reacquire the item.
Keep a reserve when you use stencils
Retain the parts already in your stash if you enjoy weapon customization or expect to unlock several stencils. A reserve of at least the next application cost is a practical personal rule: 2 for a common or uncommon cosmetic, 4 for a rare one, 7 for an epic one and 15 for a legendary one. That is a budgeting method based on the guide’s reported costs, not an official inventory requirement.

Lower their priority when cosmetics are irrelevant
If you do not use stencils, Stencil Parts compete for space with materials that unlock stations, projects or weapons. Because the cited item page reports no recycling or salvage return, keeping a large quantity has no component advantage. Check the current vendor screen before selling; the reported item value is 1 and may not represent every future economy change.
Use the stack limit to simplify storage
The reported stack size is 500. Consolidating partial stacks into one stack, when the interface allows it, avoids paying a stash-space cost for several small piles. Do not assume that a full stack is necessary: one stack can represent hundreds of applications, far more than many players will make during a short progression cycle.
A decision framework for every other crafting material
Use the item’s own details rather than its color or category. Before recycling, salvaging or selling, run these checks in order:
- Check recipes you actually use. Open the item page and identify weapons, tools, shields, consumables or stations you intend to craft. A material with a useful recipe can be worth more than its immediate vendor price.
- Check active progression requirements. Look at current quests, projects and station upgrades. Reserve the amount required by an active objective before considering any surplus.
- Check recycling and salvage returns. The fact that an item is labeled a crafting material does not prove that either action is available. Read the specific item action and its output.
- Check vendor value. If an item has no near-term recipe and a strong sale value, selling may beat recycling. Conversely, a low-value item with a useful component return may be better recycled.
- Check scarcity and reacquisition. A common material that appears regularly can be replaced after a sale. A rare material with uncertain spawn areas deserves a larger reserve.
- Check stash cost. Compare the item’s weight, stack behavior and the opportunity cost of the slot against the value of what you would store instead.
This framework prevents a common mistake: treating “can I recycle it?” and “will I need it?” as the same question.
Why rarity alone is a poor scrap rule
Rarity describes how an item is classified, not necessarily how useful it is to your current build. Stencil Parts are reported as Epic but cannot be recycled or salvaged. Conversely, a lower-rarity material may be required for an important recipe or upgrade.
The fan-made recycling guide updated 6 October 2026 recommends preserving several progression-linked materials, including ARC Alloy, Tick Pods, ARC Circuitry, Bastion Cells and Chemicals. Those recommendations are a starting point, not a substitute for opening the current project and item pages. A patch can change a recipe, add a requirement or alter a return without changing the item’s color.
Example: Rubber Parts show why item-by-item checks matter
An ARC Raiders Hub database entry lists Rubber Parts as a common basic material that cannot be recycled. The same entry lists Rubber Parts in recipes for binoculars, Combat Mk. 1, Door Blocker, Looting Mk. 1, Remote Raider Flare and Tactical Mk. 1.

- [Dont Hesite to Order] 24 hours customer services and professional technology team are standing by
The practical conclusion is not “keep every Rubber Part forever.” It is that a no-recycle flag does not mean an item is useless, and a recipe list does not mean every copy must be protected indefinitely. Reserve the amount needed for the equipment you intend to make, then reassess surplus against its vendor value, scarcity and stash cost. Rubber Parts and Stencil Parts arrive at different decisions for different reasons: Rubber Parts have reported recipes but no recycling, while Stencil Parts have a cosmetic use and no listed craft recipe.

What to prioritize when the backpack or stash is full
The recycling guide’s broad full-inventory hierarchy is:
- ARC materials first. These are placed at the top because the guide treats them as important to progression.
- Advanced materials next. It specifically names Wires, Steel Springs and Chemicals.
- Basic materials after that. Metal Parts, Plastic Parts and Fabric are placed below the advanced group.
- Then consumables and common weapons or shields. These are the guide’s lower-priority categories when space is constrained.
This is a fan-made recommendation, not an official rule. Override it whenever an active quest or upgrade calls for a supposedly low-priority item. Stencil Parts generally belong in the cosmetic-reserve decision rather than automatically at the top or bottom: keep them if you have a stencil plan, and give the slot to a progression requirement if you do not.
Weapons: recycle, keep or sell?
The same recycling guide offers a broad weapon heuristic: recycle common-rarity weapons when materials are needed, keep uncommon and higher, and sell an item when its material return is less valuable than its vendor value. Apply this as a starting point, not a permanent rule.
Recycle a common weapon when
- You have confirmed the weapon is not needed for an active quest or loadout.
- The listed return helps a near-term craft or upgrade.
- The vendor price is lower than the practical value of the returned components.
Keep an uncommon-or-better weapon when
- You use it regularly or need a spare copy.
- Its return is uncertain or less useful than the weapon itself.
- A project, quest or planned build calls for that model.
Sell instead of recycle when
- The item has no recipe or progression role for you.
- The current vendor value exceeds the useful value of the recycling output.
- You need currency immediately and can reacquire the item without a difficult search.
A practical stash workflow before every raid
Use this short routine whenever you return with a full inventory:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Mark active requirements. Read the next quest, project and station upgrade, and reserve their listed materials.
- Separate cosmetics. Put Stencil Parts in a dedicated mental or physical stash group. Keep enough for the next stencil applications you actually expect to make.
- Inspect unclassified materials. Open each item’s details instead of assuming that “basic,” “advanced” or “Epic” predicts its action.
- Consolidate stacks. Merge partial stacks where possible, using the reported 500-part Stencil Parts stack as a reminder that several piles may be unnecessary.
- Choose one exit action. Recycle when the return supports a plan, sell when currency is more useful, and discard only when neither the recipe nor the return justifies the slot.
- Recheck after patches. Frozen Trail introduced Stencil Parts, and later content updates can change costs, recipes, availability or item actions.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Scrapping Stencil Parts for components
The current item entry says recycling and salvage are unavailable. If the interface offers no action, there is no component return to collect. Store them for stencils or make a deliberate sell-or-leave decision based on your cosmetic plans.
Assuming an Epic item is always valuable
Stencil Parts demonstrate why this fails: Epic classification does not create a recycle yield. Read the action panel and recipe list for the individual item.

Applying a stencil without checking the weapon
Applications are reported as weapon-specific. Confirm the weapon copy before spending the parts, especially when you own several versions of a model.
Budgeting one application for an entire weapon family
The guide says applying the same stencil to another copy requires another application. Count each intended weapon separately.

Following a fan hierarchy without checking your objective
The ARC-material-first hierarchy is useful when you need a quick sort, but an active upgrade can make a basic material more urgent than an advanced one. Always reserve the exact requirement first.
What is currently known about the stencil catalogue
The weapon-stencil guide reports 14 stencils confirmed in launch patch notes: eight found Topside, five exclusive to the Frozen Trail Premium Pass and one exclusive to the Collector DLC. The guide says its name and location list is incomplete and is still being updated. This is a guide-reported count, not an independently verified official catalogue, so it should not be used to assume that 14 is the final total or that every current stencil has the same availability.
The guide also bases details on in-game tooltips and early-access creator videos. When a tooltip in your current build conflicts with an older guide entry, follow the current in-game requirement and treat the older figure as historical context.
Patch-sensitive facts and source limits
All of these item behaviors are subject to balance and content updates. The Stencil Parts page was last edited 8 October 2026; the stencil guide was updated 8 October 2026; and the recycling guide was updated 6 October 2026. None of the cited references is official developer documentation for every item behavior.
Best Value
The references do not establish exact drop odds, an exhaustive recipe list, a permanent vendor economy or a universal reserve quantity. Before committing valuable stash space, inspect the item’s current description, the active project requirement and the action buttons in your own build. That check is especially important after a patch, when a material can gain a recipe, change rarity, receive a new recycle action or move to a different loot table.
Decision checklist
- Do I plan to apply a stencil soon? If yes, keep the next reported cost of 2, 4, 7 or 15 parts as applicable.
- Does the item have a recipe I will use before my next few raids?
- Does an active quest, project or station upgrade require it?
- Does the item actually offer recycling or salvage, and what is the return?
- Would its vendor value solve a more immediate problem?
- How difficult is it to reacquire?
- How much stash space does it occupy compared with a progression material?
- Did a recent update change its tooltip, recipe or action?
If the answers for Stencil Parts are “no planned stencil,” “no listed recipe,” “no active requirement” and “no recycle return,” they are a low-priority stash item. If you have a cosmetic you want to apply, the same item becomes a directly useful consumable and should be retained.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Stencil Parts be recycled or salvaged in ARC Raiders?
The current ARC Raiders Wiki item entry says they cannot be recycled or salvaged, so they should not be treated as a source of components.
How many Stencil Parts does one weapon stencil use?
The cited guide reports 2 parts for common and uncommon stencils, 4 for rare, 7 for epic and 15 for legendary. Confirm the cost shown by the current in-game tooltip before applying one.
Do I need more Stencil Parts to use the same stencil on another weapon?
Yes. The guide reports that each weapon application is separate, so another copy requires another application and another parts cost.
Where can Stencil Parts be found?
The current item entry reports Commercial, Residential and Industrial loot categories. It does not provide a guaranteed map location or drop rate.
