The Steelcraft Agile 4 is a discontinued stroller, so the key questions are whether a particular one is complete and in good condition, and whether its capsule and accessories match the exact model. Steelcraft says it can be used from birth; a compatible infant capsule is optional, not a stated requirement. The manual names two capsule families for travel-system use, while Steelcraft says the Strider Bassinet does not fit.
What the Agile 4 is—and what the available review evidence shows
CHOICE lists the Agile 4 as tested in 2020. Its page exposes specifications and a listed price, but not member-only ratings or detailed test findings in the available material. These are CHOICE’s product specifications for its 2020-tested listing, not measurements of a particular used stroller. Check the condition, labels and included parts of the individual example rather than assuming its age or history from the model name.

Can you use the Agile 4 from birth?
Steelcraft’s answers on the Agile 4 Q&A say it is suitable from birth and describe an infant carrier as optional. That means a compatible capsule is not presented as necessary for newborn use; it does not make every seat position or configuration suitable for a newborn. Follow the stroller’s instructions for the approved use and positioning, and do not infer that the seat reclines fully or that a bassinet is included. Read Steelcraft’s Agile 4 Q&A responses.
Capsule compatibility: verify the exact parts
The Agile 4 manual names the Steelcraft Baby Capsule and Safe n Sound Unity Baby Capsule as suitable for use with the stroller, with capsules sold separately. Steelcraft’s Q&A further discusses adapters included with a new Agile purchase for a Steelcraft capsule, and separate Agile click-and-go receivers for named Unity models. These statements do not establish compatibility for every capsule revision, receiver or second-hand combination.

Before using a capsule, identify the exact stroller revision, capsule model and adapter or receiver, then confirm that combination against the manual or with the manufacturer. Do not rely on a seller’s generic claim that a capsule is “compatible.” Consult the Steelcraft Agile 4 instruction manual.

- Strider Bassinet: Steelcraft’s Q&A says it is not compatible with the Agile 4. Do not assume another Steelcraft bassinet will fit unless the manufacturer confirms the exact model.
- Footrest: Steelcraft says the Agile 4 does not have an adjustable footrest.
- Armbar and child tray: Steelcraft’s responses say the Agile armbar and child tray are compatible. Confirm the accessory is specifically the Agile version and that it suits your stroller revision before buying.
What to check when buying a used or remaining-stock Agile 4
Because the model is discontinued, the condition and completeness of the particular stroller matter more than a generic listing description. - Ask for the stroller’s exact model or revision details and inspect its frame, wheels, brakes, harness, seat fabric and folding mechanism.
- Confirm which components are included. If you intend to use a capsule or add-on, match its exact model and receiver or adapter to the stroller before purchase.
- Check that the manual corresponds to the stroller in front of you and follow its instructions; a compatible-looking part is not proof of a safe fit.
- Ask the seller about age, storage, repairs and use. Treat their account and online owner comments as anecdotal rather than as a guarantee of condition.
- Verify any claimed warranty and the availability of replacement parts directly for that specific item; the two-year warranty in CHOICE’s listing does not establish that a second-hand stroller remains covered.
Who should consider one?
The Agile 4 may suit a caregiver who has verified a complete, sound stroller and wants to use it in the configurations supported by its manual. It is a poor choice if the purchase depends on a Strider Bassinet, an unverified capsule pairing, or accessories whose fit cannot be confirmed. For comparison with another pram, check like-for-like evidence on folded size and weight, child and basket limits, newborn setup, capsule compatibility, accessories, condition and the exact current price and warranty.
