As of the October 2026 sale reporting, the evidence supports two Steam Deck Verified games at 90% off—not 25. The US prices reported for Dying Light and Detroit: Become Human were $2.49 and $3.99, respectively. Those are dated sale snapshots, not guaranteed live prices; Steam’s Autumn Sale was reported to end October 8, 2026, at 10 a.m. Pacific.

Why this is not a 25-game list
The available dated evidence does not establish 25 games that were both at least 90% off and Steam Deck Verified. Digital Citizen’s October 2026 article named 12 Verified games under $10, but most did not reach 90% off: it reported Darkest Dungeon at 85%, and Hades and Slay the Spire at 75%.
#1 Best Overall
- 1TB NVMe SSD
- 1280 x 800 HDR OLED display with premium anti-glare etched glass, 7.4" Diagonal display size up to 90Hz refresh rate
- Wi-Fi 6E
- 50Whr battery; 3-12 hours of gameplay (content-dependent)
- Carrying case with removable liner
The article also reported that its compatibility recheck reduced 578 store-filter results to 171 listings; some were only Playable and two mentioned listings were Unsupported. That is the author’s check at the time, not a permanent characteristic of Steam’s filters. Adding games based only on a deep discount or a search result would risk labeling unverified or incompatible titles as Verified.
What Steam Deck Verified means
Valve defines Verified as: “The game works great on Steam Deck, right out of the box.” The review considers input, display and text legibility, whether play is seamless (including controller use with launchers), and system support such as Proton and anti-cheat. Verified is a compatibility label, not a frame-rate or battery-life guarantee. Valve says ratings apply to LCD and OLED Deck models and that reviews are ongoing as games, updates and Deck capabilities change. Valve does not publish the date each game was tested, so a badge alone cannot establish how a particular title performs today.
How to check a deal before buying
- Find candidates: Browse Steam’s sale listings with the Deck compatibility filters, or use SteamDB’s Autumn Sale filters for discount, rating and review count. SteamDB is a third-party service, not Valve.
- Open each Steam store page: Confirm the current regional price and discount there. A filtered result is a discovery shortcut, not proof of the exact compatibility label or a price guarantee.
- Read the Valve label carefully: Distinguish Verified from Playable. Valve says Playable titles may need manual adjustments; do not describe them as Verified.
- Check timing and region: Sale prices can change, and the cited prices are US snapshots. Confirm the offer and end time in your own Steam storefront before checkout.
Steam’s store search can help surface sale games with Deck compatibility filters, but an individual title still needs checking on its store page. Steam sale search with Deck compatibility filters

What the compatibility badge cannot tell you
Neither the reported prices nor Valve’s Verified label establish a specific frame rate, battery runtime or comparative performance between these two games. No independent benchmark figures are available here. Treat “perfect” as a buying preference, not a measured performance claim: check the badge and live price, then consult game-specific performance information if frame rate or battery life is decisive for you.
Quick Recap
Rank #4
- Valve is entering the gaming console marketplace with the new Steam Deck, a console geared towards PC gamers. The Steam Deck can be docked to a monitor, and used as a PC, or docked to a TV.
- Players can play a huge variety of games at any time with the comfort of a console and the freedom of a PC. Not anti-glare screen.
- Like the name suggests, the Steam Deck will include upgraded 1TB storage, and will include a carrying case. A micro SD slot will also enable expanded storage.
- Valve partnered with AMD to create a specialized APU optimized for handheld gaming, and Valve says the chip will deliver performance to run AAA gaming titles.
- The Steam Deck is outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and two trackpads under the control sticks that allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities.
