The Steam Autumn Sale ends October 8, 2026, at 10 a.m. Pacific, according to Valve’s event schedule. The prices below are U.S. snapshots, not guaranteed prices in every Steam region. Use them as a shortlist, then confirm the price, edition, discount and end time on the store page for your account before buying.
The available listings support a useful selection of sale picks, but not a verified ranking of exactly 21 games. Rather than inventing 13 more recommendations, this guide compares 17 sourced examples by price and player fit. A discount is only a good deal if the game is one you want to play.

How to use this shortlist
Steam’s sale catalogue is large: PC Gamer reported a SteamDB count of 44,048 games priced below $5 during the sale. That is a database snapshot reported by PC Gamer, not a Valve statistic or a curated list of worthwhile games; the publication noted that the figure had been updated after an initial estimate. See PC Gamer’s Autumn Sale coverage.
- Start with genre and play style: a story-driven single-player game is not interchangeable with a multiplayer shooter or a cooperative puzzle game.
- Check the actual price alongside the discount. A large percentage off does not establish that a game is at its lowest-ever price.
- Use review scores as one signal, not a prediction that you will enjoy a game. Scores below are SteamDB figures from its sale listing and can change.
- Confirm regional pricing and the exact edition in your own Steam store. The prices cited here are U.S. listings.
Newer 2026 releases on sale
PC Gamer’s October 2 roundup reported these U.S. sale prices and listed regular prices. They are reported examples, not independently tested recommendations; check Steam for current terms and availability. The roundup gives a useful mix of recently released games and genres.

Catalogue picks with SteamDB sale data
These eight examples appeared on SteamDB’s U.S. sale page filtered to games. The sale listing showed prices, discounts and review-score percentages; these are snapshots, so confirm them in Steam before purchasing. SteamDB’s tracker distinguishes ordinary discounts from offers it labels historical lows or new historical lows. The figures below do not label any specific game as a record low because the cited examples do not establish that status for each one.

What to check before checkout
- Open the game’s Steam store page and verify the price in your region. The dollar amounts in this guide are U.S. snapshots.
- Check the edition and included content. The sale listing may refer to a specific edition, such as Sekiro’s GOTY Edition, rather than every version of a game.
- Review the release state where it matters. Solasta 2 was described as early access in PC Gamer’s October 2 roundup; Endless Legend 2 and Xenonauts 2 were described there as having reached version 1.0.
- Look for SteamDB’s historical-low label if price history matters to your decision. An ordinary discount, even a deep one, is not proof of a record-low price.
- Make the purchase before the stated end time if the deal is still live. Valve lists the sale window as October 1–8, 2026, ending at 10 a.m. Pacific.
The promotion is for digital purchases. 2K’s Steam announcement describes its own offers as “Digital only” and says they end October 8, 2026; those terms apply to 2K’s promotion, not automatically to every Steam offer. See 2K’s Steam Community announcement.
