TechRadar Pro reported a discounted Amazon price in August 2026, but that offer is historical: it does not establish today’s price or availability. Before buying, factor in the separate cost of drives and decide whether your network can use the NAS’s 2.5GbE port.
Which NAS is the deal about?
The title does not identify a model. The sourced match is the TerraMaster F4-425, which TechRadar Pro covered on August 11, 2026. Its article reported an Amazon price of $365.48, compared with a listed price of $429.99—a stated saving of $64.51, or about 15%. These are figures from that dated report, not confirmation that the deal is still available.

What does the F4-425 offer?
According to TechRadar Pro, the diskless F4-425 has four drive bays, an Intel x86 quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 2.5GbE network port. The article also reports hardware-assisted 4K H.265 decoding, mobile management, and synchronization options for Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox. It describes TerraMaster’s TRAID and TRAID+ as flexible storage configurations. These are reported product features, not independent test results.
#1 Best Overall

- Massive Storage & Security: The F4-425 4-bay NAS supports up to 120TB storage (4 x 30TB for each bay), 50+ independent user accounts, and flexible TRAID / TRAID+ arrays, 30% more storage space than traditional RAID while ensuring data redundancy. SPC module and CloudSync (compatible with Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox) enable seamless cross-platform synchronization and uninterrupted data access. Additionally, TerraSync enables two-way sync between the F4-425 and PCs/Macs
A NAS can centralize files and provide a place to run or support local services, but the cited product coverage does not establish that this unit guarantees privacy, replaces a backup plan, or removes every subscription. Treat those as separate decisions when planning a self-hosting setup.
Will I need to buy hard drives separately?
Yes. The F4-425 discussed in the deal article is diskless, so drives are an additional purchase. TechRadar says drive costs may add hundreds of dollars; the exact total depends on the drives you choose. Compare the complete system cost—including drives—rather than treating the enclosure’s sale price as the cost of a working storage system.

- Flexible TRAID Storage & Online Expansion: Beyond traditional RAID 0/1/5/6/10, the exclusive TRAID technology on this 4-bay NAS supports mixed-capacity drives to maximize usable space and enables online array expansion without interrupting services or migrating data
The article cites up to 120TB of raw capacity using four 30TB drives. That is before redundancy, so it is not 120TB of usable, protected storage. The capacity available to store files depends on the drives and storage arrangement you choose.
Do you need a 2.5GbE network upgrade?
No—not for basic connectivity. A standard Gigabit network can connect to the NAS, but it will constrain transfer speeds below what a compatible 2.5GbE setup can support. To benefit from the faster port, the relevant network equipment and connection path must also support 2.5GbE. Add a compatible switch, adapter, or other equipment to your budget only if your existing network cannot provide that and you want the higher throughput.

Should you buy it?
It may suit someone who wants a four-bay enclosure for centralized storage and reported media and synchronization features, and who is comfortable selecting drives and configuring storage. The historical discount alone is not enough to establish value today. Check the live price, calculate the total with suitable drives, and weigh the usable capacity after redundancy against your needs. TechRadar Pro also relays TerraMaster’s stated operating-noise figure of 21dB(A); this is a manufacturer-attributed figure, not an independent measurement.
