EA’s minimum target for Star Wars Zero Company is 1920×1080 at 30 FPS on Low. Its recommended target is 2560×1440 at 60 FPS on High. The recommended tier also doubles the listed memory from 16 GB to 32 GB and uses considerably faster processor and graphics-card classes. These are EA’s published targets, not guarantees that every PC at that specification will hold the stated frame rate in every scene.
The game launched worldwide on August 27, 2026, and is available on PC through the EA app, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Use the comparison table and the checking steps below before changing settings.

EA’s official PC requirements at a glance
| Requirement | Minimum target | Recommended target |
|---|---|---|
| EA’s performance target | 1920×1080 (1080p), 30 FPS | 2560×1440 (1440p), 60 FPS |
| Graphics preset | Low | High |
| Operating system | 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11; Windows 11 recommended by EA | 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11; Windows 11 recommended by EA |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X | Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 32 GB RAM |
| Graphics card | Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, or Intel Arc B580 | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT |
| Graphics API | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Available storage | 50 GB | 50 GB |
EA publishes these figures as two complete configurations, not as a recommendation to match only the graphics card. A PC with a faster GPU can still fall short if its processor, memory, operating system, DirectX support, or free space does not meet the corresponding row. Conversely, meeting a row does not promise a fixed frame rate: EA explicitly cautions that minimum requirements do not guarantee that every graphics setting will run smoothly.
How to compare your PC with the two tiers
Start with the target you actually want
Choose the minimum row if your practical goal is 1080p at 30 FPS with the Low preset. Choose the recommended row if you want EA’s 1440p-at-60-FPS High-preset target. Do not treat “recommended” as a guarantee of 60 FPS in every mission or camera view; it is EA’s published target for that class of hardware.

Check every component, not just the GPU
- CPU: Compare the exact processor model, not just the brand or its advertised boost speed. The recommended row moves from the Core i5-8400/Ryzen 5 2600X class to the Core i7-10700K/Ryzen 7 3700X class.
- GPU: Compare the model named in your system information with the appropriate list. Integrated graphics are not listed in either EA tier.
- RAM: The recommended specification is 32 GB, twice the minimum’s 16 GB.
- Operating system and API: The listed platform is 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11, with DirectX 12. EA recommends Windows 11.
- Storage: Keep at least 50 GB available on the drive used for the installation. “Available” means free space, not the drive’s total capacity.
If one item is below the minimum row, the whole configuration is below EA’s published minimum. If every item meets the recommended row, you are in the hardware class EA associates with its 1440p/60 High target, but real performance can still vary by scene and settings.
Why a faster graphics card is not the whole answer
EA says that, during development validation, Star Wars Zero Company proved to be more CPU-bound. In practical terms, processor workload can limit frame rate before an individual visual option becomes the dominant constraint. EA therefore says changing one graphics setting may affect frame rate less than it would in other genres and did not emphasize separate Ultra-setting specifications.
This is why the CPU and memory columns matter as much as the GPU column when diagnosing stutter or a low frame rate. It also explains why there is no evidence-based “single best setting” that can be named as the largest performance win for every PC. Use EA’s recommended upscaling path first for the recommended target, then make broader reductions if your hardware is near minimum.

EA’s support guidance uses Windows’ DirectX Diagnostic Tool (DxDiag) to collect the key specifications. Follow this sequence and compare the results with the table rather than relying on a retailer’s model name or an approximate age.

- Press Windows + R, type
dxdiag, and press Enter. If Windows asks whether to check digitally signed drivers, choose the option to open the tool. - On the System tab, note the operating system, processor, installed memory, and DirectX version.
- Open the Display tab and note the graphics card model. If the PC has more than one display adapter, check each one and identify which is used by the game.
- Open File Explorer and select This PC. Check the free space on the drive where you plan to install the game; EA lists 50 GB available storage.
- Place each result beside the minimum and recommended rows. Record the first item that falls short; that item determines which troubleshooting branch is sensible.
Before testing performance, update the graphics driver through the GPU manufacturer’s current driver channel. EA lists keeping drivers current as an initial step for poor frame rate or stuttering. A driver update cannot turn a below-minimum CPU or GPU into a recommended system, but it removes an avoidable software variable.
EA’s performance settings path
For a PC near the recommended tier
EA says its recommended way to pursue the 1440p/60 target is the game’s default TSR setting or a vendor upscaler such as DLSS or FSR. Start with the recommended default rather than immediately disabling upscaling. These options render internally at a lower workload and reconstruct the displayed image; the exact visual result depends on the selected mode and your hardware.
- Confirm that the display resolution is set to 2560×1440 if that is your monitor’s native resolution.
- Leave the game’s recommended TSR default enabled, or select the vendor upscaler supported by your graphics card (DLSS or FSR).
- Run the same type of mission or camera movement that exposed the problem and observe whether the frame rate or stutter changes.
- If performance remains poor, compare the CPU, RAM, GPU, driver, and storage against the recommended row before assuming a single visual option is responsible.
EA’s CPU-bound finding means that changing one shadow, texture, or effect option may produce a smaller improvement than expected. The published guidance does not identify one individual setting as universally responsible for slowdowns, so avoid treating a single slider as a guaranteed fix.

For a PC close to minimum
EA’s advice for a system near the minimum tier is to lower the resolution or graphics settings when performance is poor. The minimum row is defined at 1080p/30 on Low; it is not a promise that higher presets, a higher resolution, or a locked 60 FPS will be smooth.

- Set the game to the Low preset and use 1920×1080 or a lower resolution if 1080p still produces unacceptable performance.
- Keep the upscaling option available in the game if it improves responsiveness, but judge the result on your own display and hardware.
- Retest after each broad change. If the frame rate barely moves, return to the DxDiag comparison: a CPU or memory limitation may be more important than an individual graphics option.
- Do not add optional hardware solely because a requirement table lists a model. EA’s specifications do not establish that a particular GPU, RAM kit, controller, or accessory is necessary for your individual PC.
Troubleshooting poor frame rate or stuttering
If your PC meets the recommended row
- Verify the driver is current through the GPU manufacturer.
- Confirm that the game is using the intended graphics adapter in DxDiag’s Display information.
- Use TSR, DLSS, or FSR as EA recommends for the 1440p/60 target.
- Check that the CPU and 32 GB memory requirement are both met; a recommended GPU alone is not enough.
- If the problem persists, lower resolution or graphics settings and retest. EA’s minimum-requirement warning also applies to the expectation that every setting will be smooth on a listed configuration.
If your PC is below minimum
There is no official performance target for a configuration below the minimum row. You can try a lower resolution and lower graphics settings, but EA’s published requirements cannot predict the resulting frame rate. The most useful next step is to identify which component is below the listed CPU, GPU, RAM, operating-system, DirectX, or storage requirement.
If changing a setting does almost nothing
That result is consistent with EA’s statement that the game is more CPU-bound and that individual graphics settings have less influence on frame rate than in some other genres. Recheck the processor, memory, and driver, then use the broader resolution or preset changes EA recommends instead of cycling through isolated sliders.

Ultrawide monitors
EA confirms support for 21:9 ultrawide displays. The requirements table’s targets are still expressed at 16:9 resolutions (1080p and 1440p), so an ultrawide owner should select the closest supported native resolution and evaluate performance at that wider aspect ratio rather than assuming the 16:9 target transfers unchanged.

The game is mostly playable with Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 controllers. Some text-entry tasks still require a keyboard, so a controller is not a complete replacement for keyboard input. On PC, controls can be remapped for both controller and mouse-and-keyboard layouts.

Game type and PC storefronts
Star Wars Zero Company is a single-player, turn-based tactics game. The PC release is available through the EA app, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. EA’s FAQ states that the Steam version does not require the EA app launcher. The worldwide launch date was August 27, 2026.
What the requirements can—and cannot—tell you
The two rows give you a clear compatibility screen: 1080p/30 on Low at minimum, and 1440p/60 on High at recommended, with the specified CPU, GPU, RAM, Windows, DirectX, and storage combinations. They do not provide a benchmark for every mission, a guaranteed frame-time stability result, or a promise that a PC with one stronger component will compensate for another weaker one.
For the most reliable first pass, compare the complete system in DxDiag, update the graphics driver, use TSR or DLSS/FSR for the recommended target, and lower resolution or graphics quality when operating near minimum hardware. That sequence follows EA’s own performance guidance without claiming a frame rate the requirements do not establish.
