There is no supported PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch version identified in EA’s current FAQ. Do not assume that a last-generation disc or a Switch release will work: buy the edition that matches your system.

Digital copies are the straightforward option on PC and consoles if you want immediate download and automatic patching. EA’s support FAQ also says that physical Standard Edition copies are available for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S through selected retailers. That is a limited availability statement, not a guarantee that every store has stock, so check the retailer’s current product page before ordering.

EA lists two principal editions. Both include the base game. The Deluxe Edition adds cosmetic content and weapon themes; those additions do not change the campaign’s platform or single-player structure. EA’s August 28, 2026 launch announcement gave the Digital Deluxe Edition a suggested retail price (SRP) of $59.99 on PC and $69.99 on consoles, but those are launch-announcement figures rather than verified current prices. The same announcement described a $299.99 Collector’s Edition SRP with a themed Hasbro Black Series Thermal Detonator, Steelbook, desk mat and other contents. Treat all of those amounts as historical reference points and confirm the live store price before purchase.
Is Star Wars Zero Company single-player or multiplayer?
It is single-player only. EA says the game has no online or competitive multiplayer, online co-op, local co-op, split-screen co-op or other online social features. Every mission, squad decision and story relationship is designed for one player controlling Hawks and the Zero Company team.
An internet connection is not listed as a gameplay requirement in the PC system requirements. You may still need to connect to download the game, install patches or use features required by a particular storefront or platform account. After installation and updates, the tactical campaign itself is not presented as an online service.

What that means when you buy
- Do not purchase it expecting a co-op campaign or player-versus-player battles.
- There is no matchmaking, lobby, split-screen setup or social progression loop to maintain.
- Your time is spent on the authored campaign, squad development, investigations and replaying encounters at a different difficulty if you choose.
How is Star Wars Zero Company different from other Star Wars games?
The defining difference is its turn-based squad-tactics format. It is not a real-time lightsaber action game, a flight simulator or a massively multiplayer title. You pause to decide what each operator should do, position the squad for the coming exchange, resolve the action and then respond to the opponent’s turn.
The campaign combines combat with investigation and management layers. You play Hawks, a former Republic officer, and lead an unconventional group of professionals known as Zero Company. Recruitment lets you assemble a roster rather than relying on a fixed hero alone. Customization then helps you prepare individual operators and the overall team for the next operation.

- Select an operator and choose an action.
- Spend that operator’s available action points to move, attack or use an ability.
- Check the result and adjust your plan for the remaining squad members.
- Once your side has acted, the opponent takes its turn.
Each operator has health points and three action points. The points can be used for movement, attacks and abilities, so a turn is a resource-allocation puzzle rather than a reflex test. Moving into a safer position may be more valuable than squeezing in one extra attack; spending points on an ability can set up a stronger response on a later turn.

Because the enemy acts after your turn, placement matters. You must consider where an operator will end the round, which teammate can support them, and whether an ability is worth using now or saving. Recruiting and customizing members gives you tools to shape a squad around the demands of an operation instead of treating every encounter as a one-character duel.
Between missions, EA says you can build relationships and customize the squad for upcoming battles. Those relationships can affect gameplay, making the campaign’s interpersonal choices relevant to tactical preparation rather than merely decorative dialogue. Team synergies complement individual abilities, so a successful plan can depend on who is deployed together as well as on the order in which actions are taken.

What is the story and setting?
The story takes place during the twilight of the Clone Wars, an era when the Republic’s war effort is reaching its decisive and dangerous final phase. Republic Intelligence recruits Hawks and Zero Company to investigate and stop the Infinite Coil, a Separatist-aligned cult led by Kundri Fathom.
The threat is tied to the Shadow Plague, which the campaign describes as capable of consuming the galaxy. The narrative moves through tactical operations and investigations while you develop bonds inside the squad. Your operational base, called The Den, provides the space between missions for preparation, customization and relationship-building.
EA and Lucasfilm Games describe this as an original story set in a less familiar, darker corner of the Clone Wars rather than a retelling of a film plot. At launch, Bit Reactor Game Director and CEO Greg Foertsch said, “After all these years of hard work from our amazing team, Star Wars Zero Company is a go for launch.” Lucasfilm Games Vice President and General Manager Douglas Reilly called it “a deep, tactical experience set in the darker corners of the Clone Wars.” Those are promotional statements from the launch announcement, not independent reviews.

EA estimates that most players will need around 30 to 40 hours to complete the main story campaign. This is Electronic Arts’ 2026 publisher estimate, not an independently measured average. Your actual time can be shorter or longer depending on difficulty, how familiar you are with turn-based tactics, how often you retry encounters and how much optional squad and investigation content you explore.

Because the estimate covers the main story, it should not be read as a guaranteed total for every activity in the game or as a promise that every player will finish in exactly 30–40 hours.
Is it approachable if I have never played a tactics game?
It is designed to teach the basics rather than assuming specialist knowledge. StarWars.com says tutorials and on-screen tips introduce newcomers to the tactics systems, and the difficulty can be adjusted outside combat. That supports calling the game approachable, but it does not mean every battle will be easy: you still need to learn how three action points, health, positioning and abilities interact.
A practical first-mission routine
- Read each operator’s ability description before spending action points.
- Move only as far as needed to reach a useful position; ending exposed can make the opponent’s turn costly.
- Use one operator to create an advantage, then let another exploit it instead of spending every point independently.
- Check health after each exchange and avoid leaving a damaged operator isolated.
- If the plan fails, lower the difficulty outside combat and retry after changing deployment or action order.
What should you compare before buying?
The meaningful choice is the platform and edition, not a multiplayer mode: the game is single-player on all supported systems. Use this checklist to avoid a mismatched purchase.
- System: Confirm that you own a PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. Older consoles are not listed in EA’s current support information.
- Storefront: On PC, choose the EA app, Steam or Epic Games Store based on the account and launcher you already use.
- Edition: Choose Standard for the base campaign; choose Deluxe only if its cosmetic content and weapon themes justify the additional price for you.
- Format: Select digital for download convenience or a physical Standard copy on PS5/Xbox when a selected retailer has current stock.
- Price: Check the live listing. The $59.99 PC and $69.99 console Digital Deluxe SRPs, plus the $299.99 Collector’s Edition SRP, were launch-announcement figures from 2026 and may not match today’s offer.
- Connectivity: Plan on internet access for downloading, updates and platform requirements even though online play is not part of the game.
What Star Wars Zero Company is—and is not
- It is a story-driven, single-player campaign built around turn-based squad battles.
- It is a game about recruiting, customizing and coordinating several operators under Hawks.
- It is set in an original Clone Wars-era conflict involving the Infinite Coil, Kundri Fathom and the Shadow Plague.
- It is not an online co-op, competitive multiplayer or split-screen game.
- It is not a real-time action title in which reflexes replace planning.
- It is not confirmed for PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch in the current platform list.
Bottom line for prospective players
Choose Star Wars Zero Company if you want a solo Star Wars campaign where the important decisions are who to recruit, how to customize the squad, where each operator ends a turn and when to spend abilities. The supported hardware is PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; the game has no multiplayer or co-op; and EA’s best current duration guide is 30–40 hours for the main story, with difficulty and experience affecting the result.
