What the reported 2027–28 dates mean
Wccftech reported on October 5, 2026, that leaker FivesWalker expects Star Wars Jedi Part 3 in 2027 and the KOTOR remake in late 2027 or early 2028. The same report suggests a possible 2026 announcement for the Jedi game. These are leak-based claims, not dates confirmed by the games’ publishers or developers. Wccftech’s report is the source for those estimates.

There is a separate, more direct but still noncommittal signal for KOTOR: Saber Interactive chief business officer Steve Allison included the remake among projects he “hopefully” expected in a 2028 lineup. Saber confirmed the message was genuine, but clarified that it was not an official release-target statement, according to PC Gamer.
How strong is the evidence for each game?

The estimates should not be treated as equivalent evidence. The Jedi timing comes from a leaker report; the KOTOR timing also has an authentic executive comment, but the company expressly cautioned that it was not a target. Neither establishes a launch date.

Is the KOTOR remake still happening?
The latest clear status in the cited reporting is that the remake was still in development in March 2026. Saber chief creative officer Tim Willits told IGN, “Yes, it is still in development,” then added, “That’s all I can say,” as reported by GamesRadar+. That statement confirms development status at that time; it does not confirm a release year or guarantee when the game will ship.

The prior released Jedi game identified in the reporting is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which launched in April 2023. It is the relevant catch-up option if you want to revisit the series before a possible third installment. Check your platform and edition’s availability before buying; it is not the rumored sequel. Wccftech’s report identifies Survivor as the preceding game.
