Choose by the experience you want rather than by a universal ranking: Jedi: Survivor is the best fit for a focused, single-player Jedi adventure; Outlaws for open-world exploration as a scoundrel; Zero Company for turn-based squad tactics; Battlefront II for large multiplayer battles across the film eras; and Squadrons for first-person starfighter combat. Check your platform before buying, because support differs by game.
Start with the kind of Star Wars experience you want
These games are not competing versions of the same formula. They cover separate genres, perspectives and play patterns. The most useful question is not “Which is objectively best?” but “Which Star Wars fantasy do I want to play next?”

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: choose it for a focused Jedi story
Jedi: Survivor is the clearest choice when you want a conventional, story-driven action adventure rather than a persistent multiplayer game or a strategy campaign. EA describes it as a third-person, narratively driven, single-player title that follows Cal Kestis five years after Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Do you need to play Fallen Order first?
No. EA says Survivor can stand alone, so you do not need to have played the first game. Playing Fallen Order first is still the natural sequence if you want the character arc and earlier events in order: begin with Fallen Order, then continue with Survivor. Starting with Survivor is reasonable when you want the newer entry immediately or cannot access the predecessor.
Supported platforms and release sequence
EA lists Jedi: Survivor on PC through the EA app, Steam and Epic Games Store; PlayStation 5; PlayStation 4; Xbox Series X|S; and Xbox One. It first launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2023. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions followed on September 17, 2024. Confirm the edition for your hardware because the generation-specific versions are separate listings.
Who should skip it?
Choose another game if your priority is an open map, turn-based decision-making, a large competitive battlefield or cockpit-only play. Survivor is built around a single-player Jedi narrative, so those other formats are better matched elsewhere in this comparison.
Star Wars Outlaws: choose it for open-world scoundrel exploration
Outlaws is the option for exploring the Star Wars underworld as someone other than a Jedi. You play Kay Vess with her companion Nix in an open-world structure. Ubisoft places the story between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

What makes its premise different?
The central fantasy is movement through a broad, explorable setting as a scoundrel, rather than following a linear Jedi-focused campaign or commanding a squad from an overhead tactical view. Ubisoft describes it as the first open-world Star Wars game. That makes it the most direct answer when a reader asks, “Which Star Wars game is open world?”
Platforms
Ubisoft’s current page and platform announcement list Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, and PC through Ubisoft Store, Epic Games Store and Steam. Storefront and regional availability can change, so check the listing in your country before purchasing. The platform list does not establish support for older PlayStation or Xbox generations.
Who should choose a different game?
If you want a tightly focused Jedi story, a purely competitive shooter or turn-by-turn squad planning, Outlaws is not the closest fit. Its appeal rests on open-world exploration and the scoundrel perspective.
Star Wars Zero Company: choose it for turn-based squad tactics
Zero Company serves players who prefer to pause, assess a battlefield and make deliberate squad decisions. EA describes it as a single-player, turn-based tactics game set during the twilight of the Clone Wars.

Customization and decision-making
The squad’s appearances, loadouts and abilities can be customized. That combination makes the game a better match for players who enjoy preparing a team, weighing options and controlling encounters in turns rather than relying on real-time reactions.
Platforms
EA says Zero Company is available on PC through the EA app, Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The stated console support is for the current generations; do not assume a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version without a listing that explicitly names it.
When it is the right next game
Pick it when the tactical layer matters more to you than lightsaber action or free-roaming exploration. It is also the only game in this group whose official description centers on a customizable squad and turn-based play.

Battlefront II is the broadest multiplayer combat choice in the comparison. EA describes multiplayer battles across all three cinematic eras, together with a single-player story. That era coverage lets you move among the original, prequel and sequel-era settings within one shooter rather than committing to a single period.

What kind of player fits?
Choose it if your priority is the scale and variety of large shooter battles, especially multiplayer matches that draw from all three cinematic eras. The included single-player story also gives you a solo option, but the defining feature in EA’s description is the era-spanning multiplayer component.
How it differs from Squadrons
Battlefront II is the better match for ground-focused, large-scale shooter combat across multiple eras. If you specifically want to sit in a starfighter cockpit and fight in space, Squadrons is the more precise choice.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Star Wars: Squadrons: choose it for first-person starfighter combat
Squadrons narrows the fantasy to piloting. EA describes multiplayer space dogfights and a single-player campaign centered on starfighter combat. The first-person cockpit perspective makes it distinct from both the ground battles of Battlefront II and the third-person action of Jedi: Survivor.

Platform comparison before you buy

A practical decision path
- Choose your viewpoint. Select a Jedi (Survivor), scoundrel (Outlaws), squad commander (Zero Company) or pilot (Squadrons). If you want a general shooter battlefield, select Battlefront II.
- Choose solo or multiplayer. Survivor and Zero Company are described as single-player experiences. Battlefront II and Squadrons emphasize multiplayer while also offering solo stories or campaigns. Outlaws is the open-world choice in this set.
- Choose real-time or turn-based play. Real-time action points toward Survivor, Outlaws, Battlefront II or Squadrons; deliberate, turn-by-turn planning points to Zero Company.
- Check your hardware. Compare your console or PC storefront with the platform table and verify the live regional listing.
- Decide whether story order matters. Survivor follows Fallen Order, but EA says it can stand alone. The other recommendations are not presented as prerequisites for one another.
Prices, editions and availability
Displayed prices, editions, discounts and stock vary by territory and time. The official descriptions used for this comparison do not provide a common, decision-useful price comparison, so a sale price for one title should not be treated as proof that it offers better value than another. Check the current store page for the exact edition, included content, platform and currency before checkout.
