Star Wars: Galactic Racer’s solo campaign is a run-based tour through the Galactic League, not a fixed chain of races. You choose a route and events, build a repulsorcraft between races, and try to survive enough of the tour to challenge the League champion. Crashing too many times ends that tour. Your temporary setup is lost when you restart, but selected perks, unlocks and reported permanent upgrades can carry into later attempts.

This guide explains the confirmed progression loop, what failure changes, how Hibi’s workshop fits into a run, and how to choose a vehicle and route without pretending that an official unlock checklist or best build exists. Scenario and Arcade are separate modes; they are not campaign chapters.

How the single-player campaign works

You play as Shade, a racer entering the Galactic League with a personal grudge against the Bool family and champion Kestar Bool. The campaign presents that story through repeated tours. Each tour is a sequence of decisions rather than a wholly predetermined race list: you select events, choose a branch of the League path, tune your vehicle, and manage the risk of continuing after every race.

The design is intentionally run-based. A successful attempt can carry you toward the champion, while a bad sequence of crashes ends the current tour and sends you back to the beginning with a different set of decisions to make. Official descriptions emphasize meaningful choices about your starting vehicle, upgrades and event route. Matt Webster, Fuse Games CEO, describes the intent this way: “We’ve drawn real inspiration from runs-based games so the player will have meaningful, consequential decisions to be making on how they chose their path to become an elite racing pilot — from the vehicle they choose to start with, the upgrade choices they make to create a build that really suits their playstyle and what events they select in determining their path to become champion of the League,” Webster says.

A tour, not a linear level list

Think of a tour as your current campaign attempt. You make progress by completing events on the route you selected. The available branch, event risk and rewards influence what your vehicle can do later in the same tour. There is no published universal route that is best for every player: the right choice depends on your vehicle class, current build, driving confidence and whether you value safer progress or a larger potential reward.

Acts and the champion goal

October 2026 coverage from Tom’s Guide describes the campaign as three acts and reports that completed acts remain complete after a failed season. The official launch material, however, does not publish a complete act-by-act event map. Use the act structure as a broad story framework, not as a promise that a particular planet, race or ability appears at a specified point.

Other modes are separate

Scenario and Arcade modes are listed alongside the campaign, but they should not be treated as chapters in Shade’s League tour. Campaign unlocks and run decisions belong to the solo tour system described here.

The most important distinction: temporary run progress versus persistent progression

Understanding the reset is the key to progressing efficiently. Your current vehicle configuration is a run resource. Some rewards are account-level or campaign-level progression that can survive a failed attempt.

Progress element During the current tour After too many crashes
Chosen route and event sequence Determines which races and rewards you can reach next. The tour ends; you begin a new route on the next attempt.
Vehicle setup and run upgrades Shapes handling, stats and abilities for that tour. Launch-era reporting says the run build resets with a new season.
Parts fitted through Hibi Provide the current vehicle’s stat boosts or abilities. Do not assume a fitted part remains equipped after a failed tour; the reported reset behavior applies to the temporary build.
Perks and selected unlocks Can improve the current run. Official launch material says certain perks and unlocks carry into later attempts.
Permanent upgrades May be earned through the run’s progression systems. Tom’s Guide reports that failure can still leave permanent upgrades available for future attempts.
Completed acts Mark story progress. Tom’s Guide reports that completed acts remain complete.

The game does not publish a complete list identifying every item as temporary or permanent. Treat an unlock as persistent only when the game’s own result screen or progression menu labels it that way. Do not quit a run assuming every part, credit or tuning choice has become permanent.

How to make progress on a new tour

  1. Choose a starting repulsorcraft. Select the class whose handling demands you can control consistently. Your first choice affects how comfortable you are on early events, not just your top speed.
  2. Inspect the available route. Compare the branches and events shown on the League path. Consider the likely risk, the reward type and whether the event suits your current vehicle. There is no confirmed universal optimal branch.
  3. Enter the event with a specific objective. Decide whether the priority is a safe completion, a tuning reward, a part, credits or progress toward the next branch. A lower-risk result that preserves your tour can be more valuable than a large reward that causes repeated crashes.
  4. Review the reward before committing to the next race. Reported event rewards commonly include tuning points and can include vehicle parts. Note what is being added to the current build and what is described as a future unlock.
  5. Visit Hibi when the workshop is available. Fit earned parts, consider purchases and adjust the setup for the next event. Her workshop appears in each planet’s paddock.
  6. Reassess after every race. A build that handled one event can be poorly suited to the next branch. Change your route or equipment instead of treating the first successful setup as permanent.
  7. Stop treating a damaged run as disposable. Since too many crashes end the tour, drive conservatively when the current run contains valuable unlocks or a strong permanent-upgrade opportunity.

Vehicle classes and the kind of driving they reward

Four repulsorcraft classes are identified in the official overview and Steam materials: landspeeder, speeder bike, skim speeder and podracer. The sources establish different handling and tactical identities, but they do not provide measured lap-time rankings. Choose by control style and event fit rather than by an assumed tier list.

Class Confirmed tendency Who may prefer it What is not established
Landspeeder A distinct general-purpose repulsorcraft class with its own handling profile. Players who want to learn the campaign without committing to the specialized demands described for other classes. No authoritative speed, durability or event ranking is published.
Speeder bike Requires hard braking into corners, followed by strong acceleration on corner exit. Drivers comfortable trading braking precision for powerful exits. No complete stat sheet or claim that it is the fastest class.
Skim speeder Rewards smooth lines and maintaining momentum. Players who can plan a clean line and avoid abrupt corrections. No measured advantage on a named event is documented.
Podracer Campaign material presents podracing as part of the story and identifies the podracer as a class. Players who enjoy the podracing style and can adapt to its handling. The reviewed material does not specify its full stat profile or unlock timing.

Matching a class to an event

Use the class tendency as a driving plan. On a route where maintaining a clean line matters, a skim speeder’s momentum focus may feel natural. A technical sequence that rewards braking discipline can suit a speeder bike if you can consistently brake before the apex and accelerate out without sliding into hazards. Those are control principles, not guarantees about a particular track. The game’s official material does not publish enough data to declare one class best for a given planet.

Switching classes between attempts

A failed tour is a chance to change your opening class. If a run repeatedly ends because you cannot hold speed through sweeping turns, try the class whose stated tendency better matches your inputs rather than simply repeating the same build. Conversely, if you lose time by braking too early, a momentum-oriented approach may be worth testing on the next attempt.

Hibi’s workshop: where parts and abilities enter a run

Hibi, an Ardennian mechanic, operates a workshop from each planet’s paddock. Speak with her between races to fit parts earned during runs or to buy available parts. Official descriptions say parts can provide stat boosts and abilities that support different racing styles.

What the workshop can do

  • Fit earned parts: install equipment obtained as an event reward or other run reward.
  • Sell upgrades and parts: launch-era developer reporting says that, after several races, you can shop with credits for upgrades, parts or an ability.
  • Change your build for the next event: select equipment that complements the current route instead of preserving a setup that was useful only on the previous race.

PC Gamer’s October 12, 2026 report describes event rewards as typically including tuning points to spend among random stats, with vehicle parts also possible. It presents this as a system summary, not a complete catalogue. Exact prices, item names, drop rates and stat values are not published in the available material, so any fixed shopping list would be speculation.

How to spend tuning points without a promised “best build”

Use tuning points to correct a clear weakness or reinforce the handling pattern you already control. A momentum-focused driver should first avoid choices that undermine the ability to hold a clean line; a braking-focused driver should prioritize consistency through corner entry and exit. Because rewards can draw from random stats and no authoritative event-by-event build guide exists, record what each choice changes in your version of the game and judge it against the next branch.

Crashes, failure and rebuilding after a lost tour

Crashes are not ordinary mistakes that merely cost a few seconds. The official launch announcement says that too many crashes end the tour, after which Shade regroups and begins again. This makes survival part of progression management.

  • DETHRONE FALSE GODS: You control the Harbinger, a being that must reclaim the Undermether’s stolen eggs that are now ruthlessly guarded by grotesque, dangerous creatures. Mortal Shell 2’s combat system is agile and expressive. Stamina gauges are removed, and execution options have been enhanced, delivering a kinetic and chaotic dark power fantasy. Precision meets intensity in high-stakes combat.

When to drive for safety

  • When the current tour has already accumulated valuable parts or a rare ability.
  • When you are close to a story or act milestone.
  • When the next event offers modest rewards but a route continuation you need.
  • When you are still learning a class and cannot reliably reproduce a high-risk maneuver.

What failure can still accomplish

Failure is not necessarily a total loss. Official material says certain perks and unlocks carry into future attempts. Tom’s Guide reports that permanent upgrades may be earned after a failed run and that completed acts remain complete. PC Gamer reports that new unlocks enter a pool for future runs and that tuning points can feed permanent upgrades. These reports establish the existence of carryover systems, not a guaranteed reward for every defeat.

Rebuild deliberately

On the next tour, change one major variable at a time: vehicle class, route risk or upgrade emphasis. If you change everything simultaneously, you cannot tell whether the new class, event branch or part solved the problem. Start with a safer event to establish a stable build, then accept higher-risk branches once the vehicle responds predictably.

How unlocking works—and what remains unverified

The campaign’s unlock loop has three confirmed sources: progress through the League, rewards from events and persistent perks or upgrades that enter later runs. The launch announcement also states that earlier attempts can grant unlocks that carry forward. In practice, that means a failed tour can still improve future starting conditions even though its temporary setup disappears.

Content you can reasonably expect to unlock or earn

  • Vehicle parts: earned through runs or bought from Hibi when offered.
  • Abilities and stat improvements: supplied by parts and tuning choices.
  • Perks and other persistent unlocks: some carry into subsequent attempts.
  • Permanent upgrades: reported as part of the meta-progression system.
  • Story and League progress: successful tours advance the climb toward the champion, while completed acts reportedly remain complete after failure.

Details that are not published

No authoritative source provides every persistent unlock name, prerequisite, price, currency schedule, exact event sequence by act or item-by-item stat effect. There is also no verified best build for each event and no published campaign-length, unlock-count or completion-time statistic. If a guide claims an exact “unlock after race three” rule or a fixed credit price without showing the current in-game menu, treat it as version-specific information that needs checking.

Locations and story content confirmed for the campaign

Official launch coverage names Jakku, Sentinel I, Lantaana, Derven Acos, Ando Prime, Tatooine and newly revealed Crait as race locations. Campaign podracing is part of the story, with Sebulba helping prepare Shade. These locations confirm the breadth of the setting, but the available materials do not map each planet to a particular act, vehicle, ability or reward.

Do not infer an unlock order from the location list. A planet named in promotional material is not evidence that it is the next stop in every player’s tour, nor that visiting it guarantees a specific part.

A practical strategy for different player goals

If your priority is reaching the champion

  1. Begin with the class whose handling you can repeat reliably.
  2. Favor branches that preserve the tour when your crash risk is high.
  3. Use Hibi to remove a known weakness before buying a speculative upgrade.
  4. Take higher-risk events once the current build is stable and you understand the controls.
  5. Protect the run near act or story milestones; a small reward is preferable to ending a strong tour.

If your priority is collecting parts and abilities

  1. Inspect event rewards before choosing a branch.
  2. Prefer events offering parts, tuning points or workshop access when the crash risk is acceptable.
  3. Spend credits only after identifying how a purchase fits the next event.
  4. Record which parts improve your preferred class so future runs can adapt faster.

If your priority is learning the handling model

  1. Use a lower-risk route to practice one class.
  2. For a speeder bike, practice braking before the corner and accelerating only after the exit is controlled.
  3. For a skim speeder, practice smooth steering and preserving momentum instead of correcting sharply.
  4. Switch classes on a new attempt rather than repeatedly risking a valuable tour while experimenting.

Edition and platform notes relevant to campaign access

The game launched on October 6, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Physical Standard and Deluxe editions were announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; the official listing treats PC as a digital platform. Deluxe content includes digital extras such as an 80-page art book and additional cosmetic or vehicle items, while the Collector’s Edition adds physical memorabilia including a metal landspeeder model, printed art book, patches, banner and steel case. These edition bonuses are not evidence of faster campaign progression or guaranteed gameplay unlocks.

A Creative Bloq report published in October 2026 said the game became available through Amazon Luna for Prime members shortly after launch. Catalog status, geographic availability and membership terms can change, so verify the live service listing before relying on streaming access.

Developer perspective on the run-based design

Fuse Games creative director Kieran Crimmins summarized the design challenge in an interview reported by PC Gamer: “You can’t know if you can feel the system until you can play the system.” That explains why the campaign’s route, build and crash decisions are experienced together rather than reduced to a static upgrade tree. Your own control comfort is part of the build decision: a theoretically strong part is not useful if it makes the next event harder for you to drive consistently.

Quick checklist before starting each event

  • Which vehicle class am I using, and what handling behavior does it reward?
  • What does this branch risk, and what does it offer?
  • Is my current setup temporary, or has the game marked an unlock as persistent?
  • Would Hibi’s workshop fix a known weakness before I spend credits elsewhere?
  • Am I driving for a safe completion or deliberately accepting risk for a particular reward?
  • If this tour ends, which progression will actually remain?

Use those questions to make each choice explicit. The campaign rewards adaptation: select a route that fits the vehicle you can control, build around the event in front of you, and treat crashes as a reset of the current setup rather than proof that all progress is gone.
