What is the gameplay like?
A runs-based race adventure
You play Shade, a racer drawn into the underground Galactic League, an unsanctioned Outer Rim circuit. The story is set as the New Republic rebuilds after the Empire’s fall. Darius Pax recruits Shade, who is pursuing revenge and glory, amid the influence of Kestar Bool.
Official descriptions frame the experience around runs in which event and route choices, upgrades and vehicle selection shape your races. The game offers a single-player campaign, short Arcade events organized around a track, vehicle and objective, and longer Scenarios with their own rules and characters.

Four vehicle classes
The game features landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders and podracers. Amazon Game Studios describes their intended handling differences as follows; these are publisher descriptions rather than independent handling assessments.
| Vehicle | Publisher-described focus |
|---|---|
| Landspeeders | Aggressive takedowns and cornering |
| Speeder bikes | Hard braking and acceleration |
| Skim speeders | Momentum and precise racing lines |
| Podracers | A separate class that races against other podracers, rather than the other vehicle classes, because of its speed |
Tracks and hazards
Official gameplay materials name four locations: volcanic Sentinel One, dusty Jakku, icy Ando Prime and jungle planet Lantaana. Amazon’s launch overview also describes environmental hazards on Sentinel One and the Graveyard of Giants on Jakku.
