There is no evidence-based “most secure” winner among Stanley’s documented residential smart locks. The Taiwan Stanley smart-lock site lists five models—P90, S70, K60, F50 and D51—with different biometric methods and hardware. Choose by the entry method, door fit, backup access, installation quality and local support you can verify, rather than treating a feature list as a security certification.
For a handle-integrated fingerprint reader, interior child-lock switch, stainless-steel body and C-grade cylinder, the D51 has the clearest hardware specification. The P90 and K60 are the models to investigate if palm-vein entry is your priority; the S70 combines face imaging with fingerprint recognition; and the F50 specifies a Swedish FPC semiconductor fingerprint sensor. All of those descriptions come from a Taiwan-market product site, not independent security testing.

What Stanley smart locks are actually documented?
The most detailed residential range in the available material is on the Taiwan Stanley smart-lock site. It presents five models: P90, S70, K60, F50 and D51. The site is regional, so a model shown there may not be sold, supported or dimensionally compatible with a door in another country.

At-a-glance comparison
| Model | Entry and hardware described by the Taiwan site | What that means for a buyer |
|---|---|---|
| P90 | Streamlined handle, solid aluminum body, anodized finish, strengthened glass panel, palm-vein identification and dual-camera imaging. | Investigate it if palm-vein recognition and a camera-equipped design are desirable. The listed materials do not establish resistance to forced entry. |
| S70 | Aluminum body with red-bronze plating, IML-finished panel, face imaging and semiconductor fingerprint recognition. | Useful for households wanting face and fingerprint options, subject to checking enrollment, privacy and local support details. |
| K60 | Palm-vein unlocking. The homepage provides few additional specifications. | Do not assume it has the same construction, power system or backup methods as the P90; request the model-specific documentation. |
| F50 | Aluminum body, tempered-glass panel, Swedish FPC semiconductor fingerprint sensor and stated 360-degree recognition. | Consider it when fingerprint entry is preferred, but treat “360-degree recognition” as vendor wording rather than an independently measured result. |
| D51 | Handle-integrated semiconductor fingerprint sensor, interior child-lock switch, stainless-steel lock body and C-grade cylinder. | The most explicit mechanical and family-safety specification in the listed range; confirm door preparation and emergency-entry details before ordering. |
The site does not provide a common test result, certification, validated biometric error rate or side-by-side measurement that can turn this table into a security ranking.
What the stated security features do—and do not—prove
Biometric entry is convenience, not a complete security rating
Palm-vein, face and fingerprint systems can reduce the need to carry a key or remember a code. They still depend on enrollment quality, sensor placement, environmental conditions, battery power, software behavior and what happens when recognition fails. A biometric reader also controls only the electronic release mechanism. It does not, by itself, prove that the door, frame, hinges, strike, cylinder or mounting screws will withstand a physical attack.
No independent certification, comparative forced-entry test, electronic-security audit or published biometric performance test for the P90, S70, K60, F50 or D51 was established in the reviewed material. Ask the seller for the exact standard and certificate number if a claim of fire, attack, ingress or electronic-security certification is made. A marketing term such as “semiconductor,” “dual camera” or “360-degree” should not be treated as a pass mark from a standards body.

Mechanical construction still matters
The product pages name aluminum bodies or panels on several models, stainless steel on the D51 and a C-grade cylinder on the D51. Those are useful specifications for comparing construction, but they are not a complete description of the door assembly. A strong lock installed in a weak, misaligned or poorly reinforced door can perform badly. Have an installer inspect the frame, strike area, hinge side, door thickness and existing mortise before selecting a model.
Electronic attack and privacy questions remain open
The available product descriptions do not establish how credentials are encrypted, whether biometric templates remain on the lock, whether an app or cloud account is required, how many administrators can be created, or how access logs are protected and deleted. They also do not state whether a particular model has tamper alarms, lockout limits, remote control, firmware updates or an offline mode. Obtain those answers in the current manual or written support response rather than inferring them from the presence of a camera or fingerprint sensor.
Choosing among the five models by entry method
Choose P90 when palm-vein entry and a camera design are the priority
The P90 is described with palm-vein identification and dual-camera imaging, along with a streamlined handle, solid aluminum body, anodized finish and strengthened glass panel. Palm-vein entry may appeal to users who do not want to touch a sensor, while the cameras may support the product’s imaging function. The description does not say how the cameras are used, whether face matching is available, where images or templates are stored, or what the emergency fallback is. Confirm those points before treating the P90 as suitable for a privacy-sensitive home.

Choose S70 when you want face and fingerprint options
The S70 combines face imaging with semiconductor fingerprint recognition and is described with an aluminum body, red-bronze plating and an IML-finished panel. Ask whether both methods can be enabled independently, how many users each supports, and whether face recognition works reliably with glasses, masks, low light or changes in appearance. Those operating details are not stated on the product summary.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteChoose K60 only after obtaining its full documentation
The K60 listing identifies palm-vein unlocking but supplies few further details on the homepage. That makes it difficult to compare the K60’s lock case, cylinder, power source, emergency access or door dimensions with the other models. Request the K60 manual, installation drawing and warranty terms before paying a deposit. A shared brand name does not guarantee identical internals or accessories across models.
Choose F50 for a fingerprint-focused design
The F50 is described with an aluminum body, tempered-glass panel and a Swedish FPC semiconductor fingerprint sensor. The site states “360-degree recognition”; use that as a vendor claim, not a laboratory result. Ask for the recommended finger-enrollment process, minimum and maximum enrolled users, wet- or damaged-finger behavior, retry limits and the non-biometric method used when the sensor cannot read.

Choose D51 for the clearest handle and child-safety specification
The D51 places a semiconductor fingerprint sensor in the handle. Its interior child-lock switch is intended to prevent opening from inside by children, and the listing names a stainless-steel lock body and C-grade cylinder. Those details make the D51 the easiest model to match to a specific hardware and family-safety requirement. They do not answer whether an adult can exit quickly in an emergency, whether the child lock affects fire-escape procedures, or which override is available when the battery is depleted. Confirm those issues with the installer and local authority requirements.
Checks to complete before ordering
Because the available information is regional and incomplete, use this checklist with a local seller or qualified installer. Keep the answers in writing if the lock is for a rental, a shared entrance or a property with emergency-egress requirements.

- Market and model: Confirm the exact model number, country version, included accessories and whether the seller is authorized to provide service in your area.
- Door measurements: Check door thickness, backset, mortise or lock-case dimensions, handle clearance, swing direction and frame/strike alignment against the installation drawing.
- Installation: Establish whether the existing lock must be removed or modified, whether a wired power supply is required, and who is responsible for correcting a weak frame or damaged door.
- Entry methods: Ask which credentials are supported on your version—palm vein, face, fingerprint, PIN, physical key, card or another method—and which one works offline.
- Failure and emergency access: Get the low-battery warning threshold, external emergency-power method, mechanical override procedure, lockout behavior and a 24-hour assistance contact.
- Power: Confirm battery type, expected life under your household’s use, replacement procedure and whether the lock remains secured while batteries are being changed.
- Accounts and software: Determine whether an app, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a cloud account or a subscription is required. Ask how firmware updates, administrator transfer and account deletion work.
- Privacy: Ask where biometric templates, images and event records are stored, who can access them, how long they are retained and how to erase them when a user leaves.
- Warranty and service: Confirm coverage period, exclusions for door movement or incorrect installation, replacement-part availability and the procedure for a failed reader or lock body.
- Compliance: If the door is part of a rented, commercial, multi-unit or fire-escape property, verify local building, accessibility and egress requirements before installation.
Installation and setup: a safe sequence
The exact menu names and wiring differ by model, so the current manual must take precedence. The following sequence prevents common mistakes without assuming undocumented features.
Best Value

- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- Document the existing door. Photograph both faces, measure thickness and backset, and record the mortise, strike and hinge condition. Do not order from a product name alone.
- Match the drawing. Compare those measurements with the model-specific template. Stop if the lock case, spindle, handle height or strike position does not match; forcing the installation can leave the latch partially engaged.
- Test the mechanical door first. With the door open, operate the latch and any deadbolt by hand. Correct rubbing, sagging or frame misalignment before adding electronics.
- Install without overtightening. Follow the supplied screw sequence and keep the lock body square. Excess pressure can distort the lock case or make the motor work harder.
- Insert the specified batteries or connect the approved supply. Confirm polarity and keep the emergency-power contacts accessible. Do not substitute an unapproved power source.
- Create an administrator credential. Use the manual’s enrollment procedure, then add household users separately. Avoid sharing one administrator identity.
- Test every promised path with the door open. Check the primary biometric method, each backup method, inside release, child-lock behavior where applicable, low-battery alert and external emergency power.
- Close the door and test alignment. Lock and unlock repeatedly from inside and outside. Verify that the latch fully enters the strike and that an authorized adult can exit without the app or internet.
- Secure the recovery information. Store the physical key or emergency procedure somewhere accessible but not beside the lock, and record the installer and support contacts.
Availability and support in Taiwan and elsewhere
The Taiwan site publishes customer service at 0800-265-007 and a contact path. It also republishes reports about Stanley counters opening in department stores in Kaohsiung and Taipei during 2025. Those reports are dated and do not prove that a counter is still operating, carries every model or provides installation today. Contact the seller before travelling and ask for current stock, lead time, installation coverage and warranty handling.
A separate Stanley Home Plus search result identifies smart-lock, support and partner categories, but the page was not available for detailed verification. Treat it as a starting point for locating a local channel, not as confirmation of a model specification, price or service promise.
For buyers outside Taiwan, request a country-specific manual and conformity information. Radio approvals, emergency-entry rules, warranty coverage, replacement batteries and installer networks can vary by jurisdiction. Do not assume that a Taiwan listing guarantees shipment, app availability or spare parts in your country.
How to make a defensible choice
Use a staged decision rather than a feature-count contest:
- Eliminate incompatible hardware. Remove any model that cannot fit your door or meet local egress requirements.
- Select the primary interaction. Pick palm vein, face, fingerprint or a conventional backup according to who will use the door and how reliably they can enroll.
- Demand a recovery path. Reject a model if the seller cannot explain low-battery entry, a physical or external emergency method and support response times.
- Evaluate data handling. Prefer documentation that clearly states local storage, encryption, update responsibility, user deletion and offline operation.
- Verify the installer. A correctly aligned lock on a reinforced frame is more meaningful than an unverified biometric feature installed on a weak door.
- Compare the written offer. Include the lock, cylinders, batteries, installation, taxes, warranty, future service and any required app or connectivity costs.
On the evidence available, the D51 is the clearest fit for a buyer prioritizing an integrated fingerprint handle, a stated child-lock switch and named mechanical materials. The P90 and K60 deserve attention for palm-vein entry, the S70 for face-plus-fingerprint access and the F50 for a fingerprint-centered design. That is a suitability guide, not a claim that any one model has superior resistance to forced entry or cyberattack.
Questions the product pages do not answer
Before purchase, ask for direct answers to these unresolved points: the supported door dimensions; backup credential types; battery chemistry and expected runtime; external emergency power; biometric enrollment limits and failure rates; app, cloud and firmware behavior; encryption and data retention; tamper response; local certifications; warranty duration; and the cost and availability of replacement parts. If the answer is “not stated,” treat it as an unresolved buying risk rather than filling the gap with assumptions.
