What has been reported—and what has not
The headline claim needs qualification: the reports concern distinct initiatives at different stages, not a confirmed, unified plan approved by the Srisailam Temple Trust Board.

These reports do not establish that the AI system is part of the 2023 long-range plan, nor do they confirm a final approved 30-year master plan. The 2023 horizon was 25–30 years, not proof of a board-approved plan lasting exactly 30 years.

The June 2026 report said the proposed queue complex and AI-based darshan management system were intended to improve pilgrim flow. It gave a reported project estimate of ₹145 crore, attributed to the preliminary survey context. That is an estimate for the proposed queue-complex project, not evidence of a final tender award or money spent.

The same report described a target of completing the journey from joining the queue through darshan and exit within 45 minutes. It also said officials expected queues to take two to three hours at the time, with normal-day capacity of about 6,000 devotees per hour and festival capacity near 8,600. These are figures reported by the newspaper, not independently audited measurements; the 45-minute figure is a goal, not demonstrated performance. The article said officials expected an August milestone, but that date has passed and the reporting cited here does not establish whether it was met.
The September HMTV report is a separate, later update: it attributes an AI-and-CCTV integration statement to the trust chairman. Without technical documentation or independent confirmation, readers should not infer particular functions—such as facial recognition, automated counting or predictive crowd alerts—or assume a specific operational status.

How this differs from the completed PRASHAD project
Srisailam also received a separate visitor-amenities development project under the Union Ministry of Tourism’s PRASHAD scheme. The Press Information Bureau reported that President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated it on 26 December 2022. The ministry described the project as completed, fully funded by the Union Ministry of Tourism, and costing ₹43.08 crore. See the Ministry of Tourism announcement.

The completed facilities listed by the ministry included an amphitheatre, illumination and sound-and-light show, digital interventions, tourist amenity centre, parking, changing rooms, toilets, souvenir shops, food court, and ATM and banking facilities. This completed 2022 project is distinct from the proposed ₹145 crore queue complex reported in 2026.

For current darshan and seva bookings, accommodation and visitor services, use the official Srisaila Devasthanam website. The reports about planning and proposed queue improvements do not themselves confirm current visitor-service changes.
