SpaceX’s latest reported revenue mix supports a straightforward point: its Connectivity and AI businesses are now much larger than its Space segment. In the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Connectivity and AI together brought in $6.852 billion, compared with $962 million from Space. That makes them the stronger near-term revenue engines—but it does not prove which business will move the stock. Share performance also depends on what investors expect and the price they are willing to pay.
What SpaceX reported in Q2 2026
SpaceX reported $7.8 billion in total revenue and a net loss of $541 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. Its segment revenue was distributed as follows, in U.S. dollars:

| Segment | Q2 2026 revenue | Share of total revenue* |
|---|---|---|
| Connectivity | $4.291 billion | About 55% |
| AI | $2.561 billion | About 33% |
| Space | $962 million | About 12% |
*Approximate shares, calculated from the segment figures divided by reported total revenue of $7.8 billion; the rounded total means percentages are approximate. The figures are reported in SpaceX’s Q2 2026 earnings release and quarterly report. Together, Connectivity and AI generated $6.852 billion—more than seven times Space revenue.
The filing figures establish the revenue mix, not each segment’s profitability or growth rate. The available figures do not provide a segment-level profit comparison, so they cannot show which business contributes the most earnings or cash. Nor does a larger revenue base by itself establish that a segment will grow faster in future quarters.

Why Connectivity and AI matter more to the near-term revenue story
Connectivity: the largest reported segment
Connectivity, primarily Starlink, produced $4.291 billion in Q2 2026 revenue, the largest of the three reported segments. That scale makes it central to any account of SpaceX’s current business mix. The figure alone, however, does not answer how much of the revenue converts to profit or how durable its growth will be.
AI: a substantial second contributor
AI revenue was $2.561 billion in the same quarter, almost three times Space revenue. Alongside Connectivity, it accounted for most of SpaceX’s reported revenue. The supplied company figures do not establish AI’s future growth rate, margins, or contribution to the company’s valuation.

Space: smaller now, potentially important later
The Space segment generated $962 million in Q2 2026. It was the smallest of the three by reported revenue, but one quarter’s revenue ranking is not a measure of long-term strategic importance. Space could matter to future growth; the reported figures do not quantify that possibility or establish when it might affect financial results.

Revenue scale is not the same as profitability
Despite $7.8 billion in quarterly revenue, SpaceX reported a $541 million net loss. Revenue tells investors how much the company brought in, not whether it earned a profit after expenses. The loss is a company-wide result; the figures cited here do not show whether any individual segment was profitable.

That distinction matters to the stock thesis. A business can generate the largest share of revenue without being the most profitable, and a smaller business can have growth potential without yet contributing enough to change overall results. The Q2 report provides a snapshot of scale, not a complete forecast of earnings.
What the revenue mix does—and does not—say about the stock
The segment figures support the claim that Connectivity and AI are the bigger current revenue contributors than Space. They do not establish that either segment will lift the share price in the near term. Stock performance depends on expectations already reflected in the valuation, future financial results, and how those results compare with what investors anticipated.

The idea that anticipated growth may already be priced into SpaceX shares is an investment interpretation, not a fact demonstrated by the quarterly revenue table. Even strong growth can disappoint investors if it falls short of expectations; a smaller segment can attract attention if investors believe its future prospects are undervalued. Without a dated price, valuation assumptions, and comparable earnings or cash-flow information, the segment mix cannot settle that question.

IPO proceeds are not operating revenue
SpaceX Investor Relations said the IPO share issuance closed on June 15, 2026, generating approximately $85.7 billion in gross proceeds to the company. This is capital raised through the share issuance, not revenue from Connectivity, AI, or Space, and it should not be added to Q2 operating revenue. The announcement is available from SpaceX Investor Relations.

How to assess a long-term return scenario
A hypothetical return estimate through 2030 is not a company forecast. Such a scenario depends on at least two assumptions: how much revenue SpaceX reaches and what valuation investors assign to that revenue at the time. Both can change substantially.
- Revenue growth: A scenario must specify its assumed growth rate and the period over which it applies. Analyst estimates are external expectations, not reported results or guarantees.
- Future valuation multiple: The assumed sales multiple can expand or contract with growth expectations, profitability, risk, and market conditions. A lower multiple can reduce a projected share value even if revenue rises.
- Starting price and share count: Any per-share return calculation depends on the date and price used as the starting point and on the share-count basis. A market-price snapshot is dated context, not a current quote.
- Company versus shareholder proceeds: IPO gross proceeds to the company are not the same as an individual investor’s return, and hypothetical outcomes should not be presented as promised gains.
Because the relevant scenario’s detailed assumptions cannot be verified here, no specific 2030 price target or $1,000 investment outcome is stated. The useful takeaway is the structure of the calculation: projected revenue multiplied by a chosen valuation multiple produces an implied company value, but only additional assumptions can translate that value into a per-share result and an investor’s return.
Quick Recap
What investors can watch next
- Whether future reports show Connectivity and AI sustaining their revenue scale and growth.
- Whether Space revenue grows enough to change its weight in the company’s business mix.
- Whether SpaceX narrows or reverses its reported net loss, and what the company reports about segment profitability.
- How the share price and valuation compare with clearly dated revenue estimates and assumptions, rather than relying on an undated market snapshot.
