Sovos says it plans to combine Flowie’s AI agents for business processes with its tax-compliance tools and regulatory data. The announcement calls the planned offering a “Compliant Finance Platform,” but does not disclose pricing, transaction terms, or independent performance results.
What Flowie does
Flowie is described by Sovos as an AI-native platform that orchestrates finance and procurement work. Its agents are intended to run processes end to end, including accounts payable, procure-to-pay, contracts, invoicing, collections, and supplier and customer onboarding. Sovos also lists expense and travel, financial reconciliation, cash application, treasury, and spend analytics among Flowie’s core agents. These are vendor descriptions, not independently tested capabilities. Sovos says Flowie operates on top of virtually any ERP; the announcement does not name supported systems or detail integration requirements. Sovos acquisition announcement
How Sovos says the combined platform will work
Sovos’s stated aim is to bring tax and regulatory rules into finance and procurement workflows as agents carry them out. Flowie’s agents are expected to work alongside Sovi Agent Studio, which Sovos describes as a collection of prebuilt compliance agents for tasks such as goods-and-service code mapping, e-invoice error diagnosis, and data reconciliation. Sovos says Flowie is immediately available to all Sovos customers and will work alongside its core tax-compliance platform. Prospective customers are directed to a Sovos account representative or to contact the company; no public price is provided. Sovos acquisition announcement
The Sovos Graph
Sovos says its applications and agents use an underlying data layer called the Sovos Graph. The announcement identifies three components:
#1 Best Overall
- Entity Network: Links suppliers, contractors, customers, and employees.
- Transaction Intelligence: Covers buy-side and sell-side transactions.
- Content & Regulatory Knowledge: Contains tax rules, schemas, mandates, and jurisdictional requirements, as described by Sovos.
What the acquisition could mean for finance teams
The strategic rationale is to connect process automation with tax and regulatory information, so compliance requirements can be applied within the workflows rather than handled only as a separate step. Flowie co-founder and CEO Yann Ravel-Sibillot said, “That trade-off disappears now that Flowie and Sovos are combined.” That is his view of the acquisition, not evidence that every customer’s compliance and automation trade-offs will be resolved.
Sovos CEO Kevin Akeroyd said the combination makes “the industry’s first Compliant Finance Platform (CFP)” by pairing Sovos tax-compliance and regulatory data with Flowie agents. “Industry’s first” is Sovos’s claim; the announcement does not independently establish market priority. It also does not specify how the combined offering will be implemented in a customer’s systems or how governance and audit controls will work in practice.

Performance figures in the announcement
Sovos’s release cites several figures to illustrate the potential value of AI in finance. They should not be read as verified Flowie results: the release does not provide study titles or publication years for the cited research, and it does not identify the customer in its example.
| Figure | Attribution in Sovos’s release | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 40% cost savings | EY | Described as an outcome of end-to-end agentic AI implementation; year and study title are not stated in the release. |
| 90% time savings | PwC | Described for selected finance processes; year and study title are not stated in the release. |
| 20% to 40% more accurate forecasts | Boston Consulting Group | Attributed to companies embracing AI; year and study title are not stated in the release. |
| 30 hours per week saved | An unnamed Flowie customer | The release says the customer saved this time after replacing four accounts-payable tools; the customer and year are not stated. |
These are figures reported in Sovos’s acquisition release, not an independent evaluation of Flowie or a forecast for a prospective customer. Sovos acquisition announcement

What to assess before adopting it
For a finance team considering the offering, the announcement establishes a vendor-described direction, not a complete implementation or product comparison. A practical evaluation should cover:
