Tom’s Guide’s October 3, 2026 review lists the Soundcore Space 2 Pro at $199 in the US and the Bose QuietComfort Headphones Gen 2 at $359—a $160 difference at those reported prices. The review describes the Soundcore as a bass-forward, comfortable pair with effective everyday noise cancellation, but its reviewer says the advertised Anka AI features failed in testing. Those prices are a dated comparison, not a guarantee of what either pair costs now.
What the Soundcore Space 2 Pro gets right
Reviewer Erin Bashford describes the Space 2 Pro’s sound as bass-forward, with clear detail. That emphasis may suit listeners who like weight in the low end, but it could be too prominent for people who prefer a more neutral presentation. The Soundcore app offers EQ and HearID personalization to adjust the sound, according to the review.

For noise cancellation, Bashford reports that the headphones handled office typing, conversation and general city noise well. Construction drilling remained audible, so the review does not suggest the ANC can erase every loud, distinct sound.
Comfort was a particular strength in the reviewer’s experience. Bashford wrote: “I wore the headphones for eight hours while donning glasses, and the cups never pushed my glasses into my skull.” That is one reviewer’s wear experience, not a guarantee of fit for every head or pair of glasses.

- AI-Powered Clear Call Clarity:Thus AI Chip drives a 6-microphone array with real-time voice separation — Your voice cuts through, the background doesn't.
- Adaptive Deep ANC:8-microphone omnidirectional capture with 384K processing and Adaptive ANC 3.0 — precisely cancels mixed dynamic noise (voices, keyboards, HVAC) in open workspaces.
- Personalized Audio:HearID 5.0 audiometric calibration generates a per-ear frequency response curve, delivered over a Hi-Res/LDAC lossless signal path.
- All-Day Comfort: Engineered with an ergonomically optimized headband and soft, skin-friendly ear cushions — delivering pressure-free weight distribution for zero-fatigue extended wear.
The AI features are the main reason to hesitate
The review’s most consequential caveat is Anka, the advertised AI assistant. Bashford says it failed to perform advertised tasks during testing, including answering suggested questions. This is a dated observation from the review; it does not establish how the feature performs after later software updates or on other units.
If you are buying these headphones for the AI functions, do not treat the review as evidence that those features work reliably. If you would use them mainly for listening, noise cancellation and calls, the AI problem may matter less to your decision.

Battery, calls and everyday controls
Tom’s Guide reports battery claims of up to 60 hours with ANC off and 30 hours with ANC on. Those are review-reported figures, not independently measured runtime results in the evidence available here.
The reviewer also found that the headphones do not automatically sleep after inactivity and that button customization is limited. Those details matter if you often set headphones down between listening sessions or want to tailor physical controls.

- Water and Dust Resistant: The water-resistant coating, woven fabric surface, and tightly stitched zipper keep your headphones safe from splashes and dust, providing reliable protection.
For calls, Bashford tested the microphone against a drilling-noise track reported at 75 dB. The reviewer says the caller could hear her clearly, but could also hear the drilling in the background. This is a described test, not a standardized comparison with competing headphones.
How the $160 Bose comparison holds up
The $160 difference comes from the prices Tom’s Guide listed when its review was published: $199 for the Space 2 Pro and $359 for the Bose QuietComfort Headphones Gen 2. The review also reported the Soundcore at £199 in the UK through Amazon. Prices and availability can change, so check current listings in your region before comparing value.

Tom’s Guide names the Beats 360, Sony WH-1000XM4, Soundcore Space 2 and Space One Pro as alternatives. Its review provides direct observations about the Space 2 Pro, but not equivalent controlled head-to-head evidence for every named model. To choose between them, compare current street prices and the traits that matter most to you:

- Noise cancellation: Consider the sounds you need to block; the review reports good results with everyday office and city noise, but audible construction drilling.
- Comfort: Look for fit evidence relevant to your head shape and glasses use; one reviewer’s eight-hour session cannot predict everyone’s experience.
- Calls and controls: Weigh the reported background-noise pickup and limited button customization against your daily habits.
- Battery with ANC: Compare runtime claims under the same ANC conditions rather than relying on a headline maximum.
- Connectivity and durability: Check the exact codec, Bluetooth version and any water-resistance rating against an official specification before treating them as decisive.
- AI: Pay for the Space 2 Pro only if its non-AI features make sense to you; the review does not verify dependable Anka performance.
Specifications: what the review reports, and what remains uncertain
Tom’s Guide’s specification table describes the Space 2 Pro as closed-back Bluetooth headphones with 35 mm dynamic drivers, 16-ohm impedance, 120 dB sensitivity, multipoint, ANC and wear detection. It also says there is no IP rating and mentions LDAC support. These are specifications reported by that review and were not corroborated by a manufacturer source in the evidence available here.

The review is internally inconsistent about Bluetooth: its specification table lists version 6.1, while the body says 6.0. Until an official specification resolves that discrepancy, it is better not to rely on a precise Bluetooth version when choosing the headphones.
Who should consider the Space 2 Pro?
The Space 2 Pro is worth considering if you want a bass-forward sound with app-based EQ, useful reported ANC for common office and city noise, and a comfortable over-ear fit—and if its current price compares favorably with the alternatives you are considering. The review’s reported $160 Bose gap is a historical comparison, so it should not substitute for checking today’s prices.
Look elsewhere if reliable AI assistance is a buying requirement, or if you need verified specifications that the review leaves uncertain. The Soundcore’s strongest case is its reported listening, comfort and everyday ANC performance; Anka is not a reason to buy it on the evidence of this review.
