Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro vs. Liberty 4 Pro: Which Earbuds Should You Buy?

For most new buyers, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro is the stronger pick if you value noise cancellation, calls, wireless charging, and newer software features. The Liberty 4 Pro can be the better deal when it costs substantially less, or if you want more EQ presets and its stem-and-case controls. If you already own the Liberty 4 Pro, the improvements generally do not make the 5 Pro an essential upgrade.

At a glance: what changes between the two Pro models?

Category Liberty 5 Pro Liberty 4 Pro
Noise cancellation 84% average external-noise attenuation in SoundGuys’ 2026 comparison test 81% average external-noise attenuation in the same SoundGuys test
EQ presets Four, according to SoundGuys’ 2026 review 22, according to SoundGuys’ 2026 review
Battery rating with ANC on 6.5 hours per charge; 28 hours total with case, per Soundcore’s 2026 comparison 7.5 hours per charge; 30 hours total with case, per Soundcore’s 2026 comparison
Battery rating with ANC off 12 hours per charge; 50 hours total with case, per Soundcore’s 2026 comparison 10 hours per charge; 40 hours total with case, per Soundcore’s 2026 comparison
Wireless charging Qi wireless charging, according to SoundGuys No Qi wireless charging, according to SoundGuys
Multipoint connections Up to three concurrent devices, according to SoundGuys Up to two concurrent devices, according to SoundGuys
Design and controls Curved oval earbuds with a concha fin; case described by SoundGuys as having a more capable touchscreen Stem design with pinch and swipe controls; case has a display and touch bar, according to SoundGuys

These figures come from different kinds of evidence: Soundcore’s battery figures are manufacturer ratings, while the ANC percentages are SoundGuys’ comparative test results. Neither set guarantees the same outcome for every listener or use pattern. See Soundcore’s Liberty Pro lineup comparison and SoundGuys’ comparison.

Which one is the better buy for a new purchase?

Choose Liberty 5 Pro for calls, ANC, and wireless charging

SoundGuys measured 84% average external-noise attenuation for the Liberty 5 Pro, versus 81% for the Liberty 4 Pro. The gap is modest, not a promise of dramatic isolation; SoundGuys says it may be noticeable with persistent low-frequency noise such as buses or HVAC. Treat it as that reviewer’s result rather than a universal ranking.

The newer model is also the more call-focused choice in SoundGuys’ comparison. It has eight microphones plus two bone-conduction sensors, while the Liberty 4 Pro has a six-microphone array. SoundGuys found both suitable for everyday calls, but favored the 5 Pro for frequent calls in noisy surroundings. It also adds Qi wireless charging and is listed with multipoint for up to three concurrent devices, versus two for the older model. LDAC is available on both; SoundGuys notes that LDAC is limited when using three connections.

SoundGuys also describes the Liberty 5 Pro as adding an on-device assistant and real-time translation. Support can depend on app version, language, device, and region, so check current compatibility if one of these functions is a deciding factor. Soundcore makes stronger comparative ANC claims on its own materials; those are manufacturer claims, not independent test findings. Its Liberty 5 Pro product page also carries a Guinness World Records claim about speech quality certification in April 2026. That is Soundcore’s statement; the evidence here does not independently establish the record’s test details.

Choose Liberty 4 Pro for lower cost, EQ choice, or its controls

The Liberty 4 Pro may deliver better value if it is meaningfully cheaper at checkout. Soundcore’s 2026 lineup article gives stated MSRPs of $170 for Liberty 5 Pro and $150 for Liberty 4 Pro. The official US Liberty 4 Pro page displayed $149.99 when accessed in 2026, but that is a dated listing snapshot, not a guaranteed current price; the available Liberty 5 Pro page information did not establish a current checkout price with the same clarity. Check the seller, stock, and live prices before buying.

If you like to tune sound, the 4 Pro’s 22 EQ presets give you more ready-made choices than the 5 Pro’s four, according to SoundGuys; both offer custom EQ. SoundGuys describes both default tunings as bass-heavy and gives the 5 Pro a slight overall sound edge in its assessment, with stronger bass emphasis in its frequency-response discussion. The right tuning still depends on your fit, ear seal, and preference. Soundcore describes the Liberty 4 Pro’s acoustic design as a 10.5 mm woofer paired with a titanium-coated tweeter.

The 4 Pro’s stem shape, pinch-and-swipe controls, and case display with touch bar may suit buyers who prefer a more traditional earbud layout. The 5 Pro uses a curved oval shape with a concha fin, plus flat inserts for listeners who do not prefer the fin. SoundGuys describes both as potentially stable, but comfort depends on ear shape; its review also describes the 5 Pro case as bulkier in a pocket.

Battery life: ratings favor different listening modes

Soundcore’s 2026 manufacturer comparison lists the Liberty 5 Pro at 6.5 hours per charge and 28 hours including the case with ANC on, compared with 7.5 and 30 hours for the Liberty 4 Pro. With ANC off, the listed figures reverse: 12 hours per charge and 50 total for the 5 Pro, versus 10 and 40 for the 4 Pro. Soundcore lists five minutes of charging for four hours of playback for both models. These are brand ratings, not independent runtime results.

For a separate real-world reference, SoundGuys measured roughly 5 hours 42 minutes for the Liberty 4 Pro with ANC enabled. Results can vary with volume, settings, codec, and usage, so do not treat either the manufacturer ratings or one reviewer’s measurement as a personal-runtime guarantee.

Should Liberty 4 Pro owners upgrade?

Usually not just for the model number. SoundGuys says the Liberty 5 Pro’s improvements are not enough for most Liberty 4 Pro owners to justify buying another pair at the newer model’s stated $170 MSRP. Consider the change if you specifically need its call processing, somewhat stronger ANC in SoundGuys’ test, Qi charging, three-device multipoint, or translation functions. Otherwise, the 4 Pro’s broader preset selection and existing feature set may be enough.

How to decide at checkout

  • Buy Liberty 5 Pro if its added call features, Qi charging, newer multipoint support, or software functions matter to you and the live price premium is acceptable.
  • Buy Liberty 4 Pro if it is substantially cheaper, you want 22 EQ presets, or you prefer its stem controls and case design.
  • Keep your Liberty 4 Pro if it already fits and works well; the newer model is a targeted feature upgrade rather than an automatic replacement.

Soundcore distinguishes Liberty 5 Pro from Liberty 5 and Liberty 5 Pro Max, so check the exact model name in a listing. Product availability, seller, price, firmware, and app-supported features can change by date and region.
