What stands out in everyday use
120 Hz OLED display
Sony says the Xperia 10 VIII display is approximately 50% brighter than the Xperia 10 VII and adjusts colour according to ambient brightness. That percentage is Sony’s comparison, not an independent measurement. The listed panel is a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Front-facing stereo speakers and wired audio
Sony says the front stereo speakers offer approximately 15% greater overall volume and more than 30% stronger bass than the Xperia 10 VII. These are manufacturer comparisons. The phone also retains a 3.5 mm headphone jack and lists Hi-Res Audio and LDAC support.

Double-press shortcut for payment and rewards apps
Sony says a double-press of the power button can launch frequently used apps such as payment and retail rewards services. The feature is intended as a shortcut; which apps it can open depends on the apps available and configured on the phone.
Battery claims and what they mean
The battery is rated at 5,000 mAh, and Sony describes use of up to two days. In its Japanese announcement, Sony explains that its 48-hour estimate uses a standard Xperia battery-use profile: 360 minutes per day of web browsing, video, gaming and other functions, plus 1,080 minutes on standby. Sony cautions that actual battery life varies with use and environment. Its separate four-year battery-life statement is based on simulated repeated charge and discharge cycles, not a guarantee of an individual phone’s runtime.

Launch offer and optional accessories
Sony Europe advertised a free WH-CH530 headphone bundle for qualifying orders placed from 8 through 20 September 2026. That promotion had ended by 7 October 2026, so it should not be assumed to apply to current purchases.
Quick Recap
- Style Cover for Xperia 10 VIII (XQZ-CBGH): Sony’s optional dedicated cover has an integrated stand for portrait or landscape positioning. Sony Japan estimated a price around ¥5,000 and said actual prices are set by retailers.
- microSDXC card: Useful if 128 GB of built-in storage is not enough; the phone supports cards up to 2 TB. Sony’s specifications do not say a card is included.

What to check before buying
- Confirm the local price, availability and exact model variant with the retailer or carrier.
- Compare the phone’s 128 GB internal storage with your needs; expandable storage is available through a separately purchased microSDXC card.
- Consider the 6.1-inch size, 168 g weight, 3.5 mm jack and Sony’s published update commitment alongside the features that matter most to you.
- Treat Sony’s brightness, speaker and battery figures as manufacturer claims, not independent test results.
