What the WH-1000XX deal evidence shows
Sony identifies the WH-1000XX as its 1000X THE COLLEXXION wireless noise-canceling headphones. The US retail model code is WH-1000XX/B. TechRadar reported Amazon prices on October 5, 2026 of $598 in the US, reduced from $649.99, and £474 in the UK, reduced from £549. Based on those reported reference prices, the reductions are approximately 8% and 14%, respectively—not more than 50%. These are dated reported offers, not confirmed live prices. A separate headline claiming “Save 40% Off” does not establish a current offer or validate a discount above 50%. Treat any percentage claim as unverified unless the listing’s current price, comparable reference price, region, and seller terms support it.

Why “stainless steel” is not an accurate materials description
Sony describes premium materials, metal accents, and soft vegan leather. Its wording supports saying the headphones have metal accents; it does not establish that they are made of stainless steel throughout. Sony WH-1000XX support page
What Sony specifies about the headphones
Battery life and weight
Sony lists an approximate weight of 320 g. Its stated music playback is up to 24 hours with noise canceling enabled or up to 32 hours with noise canceling disabled. These are manufacturer specifications, not an independent battery test. Sony WH-1000XX support page

Bluetooth, codecs, and features
Sony lists Bluetooth 6.0 and support for SBC, AAC, LDAC, and LC3. On its US product page, Sony says LDAC can reach a maximum transfer rate of 990 kbps when configured for sound quality with a compatible device; the maximum depends on compatible equipment and settings. Sony also describes noise canceling, spatial audio with 360 Upmix, an adaptive microphone system for calls, and customization through the Sound Connect app. These are manufacturer-described features. - Confirm the listing is for Sony WH-1000XX / 1000X THE COLLEXXION, rather than a different 1000X model.
- Compare the live price with the reference price shown by the same regional retailer; a stated discount can use a different reference price from Sony’s list price.
- Check the seller, warranty coverage, and return terms on the listing before checkout.
- For comparisons with another premium headphone, weigh the current regional price alongside noise-canceling and ambient-listening features, playback with ANC on and off, codec support, app controls, fit, and construction.
