Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

It is a weaker choice if you want bright HDR, Dolby Vision, or a 120 Hz gaming display. Sony sells it as the 2025 BRAVIA 2 II, a 75-inch-class 4K HDR LED Google TV.
This review combines Sony’s published specifications with two independent reviews: RTINGS, which bought and tested a 75-inch unit, and Consumer Reports. We did not test the television ourselves, so the picture and sound findings below are attributed to those reviewers.

Model, price and what the evidence covers
Sony’s model number is K-75S20M2, and its marketing name is BRAVIA 2 II. Sony’s US product page, captured on October 7, 2026, displayed $799.99, reduced from $899.99. Treat that figure as a snapshot of one retailer-free listing on one date, not a lasting price. Sony’s page also showed a soundbar bundle promotion; its amount and terms change, so check them at the point of purchase.

Picture quality and HDR
HDR brightness
Consumer Reports found that limited HDR peak brightness held back the HDR benefits it saw in its tests. HDR10 and HLG are supported, but the set does not look like a bright HDR performer in that testing. If you watch HDR content in a bright room, the highlights are the first thing to judge in person.

Color and black levels
RTINGS, testing a 75-inch unit, described the color and black levels as unimpressive. For dark-room movie watching, this is the weakest area to weigh against the price.

Consumer Reports found good motion performance, with some blur. That is a positive result for sports and fast action, though it is not a motion-specialist result.

Gaming and PS5
The set works as a PS5 display and includes two Sony-listed picture features aimed at console use: Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode. Neither adds a higher refresh rate or VRR. The practical limit is the 60 Hz native rate and the absence of any listed VRR value.
- Works for: single-player games, streaming and general console use where 60 Hz is enough.
- Not suited to: fast competitive play that depends on 120 Hz output or VRR.
- Before you buy: confirm that the console’s own output settings match the 60 Hz ceiling, and expect HDR game images to be limited by the peak brightness noted above.
Google TV, casting and voice
The set runs Google TV and supports Google Cast and AirPlay 2, so phones and tablets can send content to it. Google Assistant voice search is included. Apps, accounts, connectivity and subscriptions may apply to any of these features. Sony warns that services and software can change or be discontinued, so do not treat any single app or service as guaranteed to stay available.

Sound
Sony says the television supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X content, but that depends on a compatible streaming service or a connected device sending that format. Sony promotes adding a compatible soundbar. Codec support is not the same as good built-in sound: Consumer Reports rated the set’s sound as around average. If audio matters to you, budget for a soundbar from the start.
Size, stand and wall mounting
The table below uses Sony’s support specifications. Stand and no-stand dimensions differ, so measure the furniture you plan to use against the stand width, not the panel size.

Checks before you mount it
- Confirm that your wall mount is rated for the set’s weight and lists a 300 × 300 mm pattern.
- Measure the cabinet or wall space against the 65 3/4-inch width, not the stand width, if you are wall-mounting.
- Plan for at least two people to lift and hang a 61.7 lb panel.
- Check the model help guide and setup documents on Sony’s support page before installation.
Who should buy it, and who should look elsewhere
The set fits a family room or living room where size, Google TV and casting matter more than peak HDR brightness or high-refresh gaming. It is a poorer fit for a dark room used mainly for HDR movies, for owners who need Dolby Vision, or for gamers who depend on 120 Hz or VRR.
Comparing it with other 75-inch sets
We did not establish a same-date price comparison with rival 75-inch sets, so this article cannot say the Sony is the better buy. When you compare, use the same checks for each model:
